We loved our trip to Galena and especially our stay at the Steamboat House. Carol and Katie made our stay so pleasant and comfortable. The mansion has a wonderful history and is located perfectly for exploring Galena. It is filled with charming artifacts and furniture along with modern conveniences. Great breakfasts! (Ask Carol to make cheese puffs.) Thanks, ladies!

Literally one of our favourite experiences!! We LOVED the atmosphere and feel of staying in this historic mansion, the hospitality throughout our stay, the detailed and intricate antique decor, the uniqueness of each room, and the hosts!!! It felt like we were guests being hosted at a friends home and it was such a lovely time! The breakfasts and coffee were delicious, and the afternoon drinks and cheese and evening cookies was an added treat. We miss it so much and wish we had stayed longer! Seriously some of the most wonderful hosts we’ve interacted with! We’ll definitely be returning!!

This will be our second stay at this house. Love the spacious rooms and the spacious lobby, it has few room, library, pool table, piano room and dinning room. Plenty to lounge in. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Carol is always such a gracious, sweet and wonderful host, the breakfast was exquisite each morning. We were eager to have it. Cheese, wine, cookies, coffee, tea, are set up accordingly by the rooms or lobby. I can not say enough great things about this Inn. Would definitely recommend and be back!

My wife and I were seeking a Christmas getaway to Galena for our anniversary and found The Steamboat House for our weekend stay. The house is absolutely gorgeous and has a ton of history behind it (from future presidents, women's rights activists, underground railroad, etc). Not right on Main Street, but only a few minute walk away and away from the bustle. Carol was extremely welcoming, hospitable, and took COVID precautions very seriously. She gave us great local advice and recommendations for exploring the town! And the daily breakfast was incredible- so delicious! Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Galena.

Exquisite Victorian, well located property close to Main St, Belvedere mansion and adventure rental. Beautifully renovated and decorated for the fall season. Large rooms, fireplace. Plenty of communal space indoors and out. Outstanding breakfast served on gorgeous china in the formal dining room. No small detail overlooked. Thank you Carol for making a “big” birthday memorable.
