We love coming to the Galena Territory every year. Our Eagle Ridge townhouse on the South Course was so cozy. The trails around the property are accessible and give you really nice views. Autumn is awesome in this area of Illinois! I would suggest this vacation to anyone looking for a nestled setting with plenty of things to do and explore.

This was my third trip to Eagle Ridge but the first stay in one of the villas. I was very disappointed with the whole experience from check-in to the restaurant to the cleanliness of the villa. We arrived on a Sunday around 3 , which was prior to the 4 p.m. check-in but were assured our villa would be ready promptly at 4. The check-in clerk took my phone number and promised to call when the unit was ready. Decided to eat at the only restaurant open on the property, Highlands while we waited for the villa to be ready.. The silverware and glasses were very spotted and when the waitress brought two plates, there were very visible food remnants on both. When I brought this to her attention and remarked they must be having a problem with their dishwasher, she shrugged took the dirty plates away and brought two more. No apology. At 4 p.m. we went back to check-in and encountered an extremely long line. Only two clerks checking folks in, When I finally reached the check-in desk, I was told the unit was not available and they would call me. 20 minutes later , I received a call but again encountered a long line. Still only two clerks available, No manager in sight to assist. I was told one of the clerks called in sick. Finally get to the villa and the key card didn't work. Called the front desk and they sent someone over who had to kick the bottom of the door to open it. The villa itself was not very clean. Carpet was extremely stained (looked like from a pet), cobwebs in corners of the room, etc. Flies and ladybugs were in abundance in the sunroom.Tried unsuccessfully to connect to wi-fi but finally gave up since it had been a long day. The next morning I called the front desk to express my disappointment, Was told they would send housekeeping over to freshen up the room. Also told the clerk, wi-fi wasn't working and I had contacted the third party listed on their information sheet and was informed someone would have to be there in order for them to resolve the issue. I tried their troubleshooting trips to no avail. The Eagle Ridge clerk stated they would let the technician in the unit. We left for our activities and when we came back it was apparent some dusting had been done and the sheets and towels had been changed. However, the sheets on one of the beds were so threadbare and had two visible holes in them. Wi-fi was not fixed either. Also, one of the straps on the luggage rack was broken, rendering it useless. What's happening, Eagle Ridge?? This was my friend's first visit there and I was so embarrassed that I had suggested this as a girl's getaway. Also, no one reached out to ask about our stay or followup on our concerns.

Hello friends! As I am writing this caption, Penny (my puppy) is sleeping next to me exhausted from her exciting day! Our overnight (Thursday and Friday) at Eagle Ridge Resort was nothing but pawfection! The team there is lovely and their amenities are never ending!! Below are some dog friendly MUSTS when staying at Eagle Ridge: ✨ The marina, pack a doggie life jacket and make sure to take your pet on a paddle boat around Lake Galena! You can also rent a pontoon with a driver to do some extra sight seeing! ✨Take your pup hiking!! They have over 22 miles of trails! So pack some tennis shoes! ✨Visit Thunderbay Falls! The lake is primarily spring-fed and has a spillway at one end creating a beautiful 40-foot waterfall. ✨Go golfing! Eagle Ridge has four courses, offering 63-holes of stunning and scenic golf! We played the South Course, Penny got lots of treats and pets from all the workers and players! ✨Eating, haha! We recommend the highlands restaurant & lounge 289! Their view of the land was incredible and all of our meals were delicious! If you love crab cakes, this is your place to get the best ones! Some other things that Eagle Ridge offers for humans are, hot air balloon rides, foot golf, swimming, spa, horse back riding and they have a shuttle to take you downtown shopping! We stayed in Walnut Hill Townhomes (9) it was 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, kitchen and two outdoor seating areas with a beautiful view! Everywhere we went Penny got a treats! Check in, golfing and even at the country store where we got coffee at! If you are looking for a pet friendly vacation, Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is your destination! Xoxo, Lauren & Penny 🤍⁣

I have been playing Eagle Ridge golf courses since they opened and my visit to the South Course on the 29th of August was the worst ever. The course is in TERRIBLE shape. Greens are slow as all get out - probably haven't been mowed in nearly a week. Both the fairways and rough are also overgrown. For a course that touts itself as a premium resort, it is a joke. I live in Galena and can GUARANTEE that every other course in Jo Daviess county is in better shape than Eagle Ridge. Don't bother.

Good afternoon Marty Thank you for taking the time to send a review about your experience on our golf course. This was a tough year with our golf courses especially with the drought that we have had. And while I am not trying to make excuses we apologize for the condition. Since you have been playing on the courses for the last 35 years or so, you probably know better than anyone that this summer was an anomaly. Thank you again Colin

I have stayed at many Resort and Spa facilities and was very disappointed with the condition of the room in the main lodge. The AC vent was leaking onto the dresser and the carpet which I am sure was the cause for the musty smell in the room. The bed lamp and the wall light were tied to the same switch so you had to get out of bed to turn the lights off. The shower/tub was in major decline and moldy. We did love our experience with the spa staff. Christy, massage therapist, was fabulous! Marshall at the boat dock was very helpful! I feel that pricing should be more like $150to $200 per room rather than $329. Just my opinion.
