Went on the unlimited golf package and feel it was a decent deal, maybe a little on the high side. The house was perfect for our group of 4. Each guy had his own bedroom and bathroom and the beds were comfortable. Loved having a hot tub to relax in after a long day of golf. The golf courses were all great but the General is truly a great experience. Love the extreme change in elevation for a number of holes. Had vouchers for the bfast buffet and that was a really good buffet with a made to order omlet station. Lots of hot choices to choose from. Service from everyone we encountered was phenomenal. Highly recommend this resort.
We have been to Eagle Ridge many times. The location and grounds are beautiful. This time however the 5 bedroom home we rented was very disappointing. Furniture is very dated and in terribly worn, dirty condition. The house layout is perfect for a group of 8-10 people but whoever owns this place needs to clean it and update the whole house. There were many cobwebs in corners and behind the furniture. Also crumbs and dust under the furniture. One of the sofas had reclining seats that were broken and dirty looking. Shower doors in two of the bathrooms didn’t close properly. In the master bathroom we had ants and one of the bedrooms had a huge spider run across the bed. The blinds on the windows were horrible. Most had holes in the fabric and they were very hard to open and close. If you were lucky enough to get them open they would all be uneven. The house also had a hot tub that had slime on the cover when you opened it. They charge you $95 per night for this hot tub whether you use it or not. All of this was bad enough but than my son opened the microwave and there was many pieces of hair in there. How does this happen??? Did the cleaning service clean with dirty rags? That was the end of it and we went right to the office and had to complain. We were all very upset since this house cost $3000 for three nights! Eva at the front desk was very nice and understanding. She did deduct the hot tub fee but we still felt we paid way too much for a place I couldn’t wait to get out of. Whatever you do, do not rent this home Unit 507. I think this may be the last time going here unless I know for sure a home or Villa has been updated. Such a shame since the grounds are beautiful.…
The room was clean and comfy. View from our balcony down to the lake. We saw turkeys walking by one morning. The restaurant was open for buffet breakfast and the bartender Jack Caru was the best! Remembers everyone's name and drink. Keep that guy as long as you can. The VTR car convention got one of the best Sunsets for our Patio dinner. We will stay here next time we are in Galena
I liked everything about the hotel with 2 exceptions: seems they should offer a couple bottles of water and the full room charge if you cancel within a week seems a bit excessive. Other than that, the staff was first class. My room was very nice. I requested a quiet room and it was perfect!
First, I'd like to say that their website and booking process are absolutely terrible. That's not bad enough to warrant a lower ranking, in my opinion, but after all was said and done it is now factored in. Secondly, on our arrival and attempt to check in we were not even greeted when we entered. Asking an employee where we should check in, he just stared at us and shrugged then looked away. Someone else came and volunteered to help, but his rudeness didn't go unnoticed. Thirdly, the house was not as clean as it should have been. The master bedroom bed was so hard it literally felt like laying on a stack of cardboard boxes covered in a sheet. The resort charged us an extra $200 without warning, a hidden fee that they charged AFTER we had payed in full for the unit. We found glass in the hot tub that nobody had bothered to clean out, and it was grossly overchlorinated. The screens in the outdoor area were absolutely filthy, and I did not have high standards for that room to begin with. They were so gross that you couldn't even see out of them when night fell because all of the dust and grime lit up. And still, I was not going to leave a bad review because we still very much enjoyed our stay. Now, over a week later, they are sending me charges for breaking a TV that we never even touched. Accumulatively this is $500 in additional charges on top of the already overpriced stay. We will never be staying here again. I give it two stars, because the area is very nice and the house was not bad overall, just a few things that (for the price you pay there) I was displeased to have to clean up myself when we got there.…
We booked one of the villas for a short weekend vacation for 3 couples who are friends and 4 of the 6 were celebrating birthdays. The house was lovely, very clean, very large with everything needed for the stay. There was a full kitchen with everything you need to make snacks, breakfast and cocktails (bring aluminum foil). The check in was delightful and the shuttle service to and from town was amazing. So nice not to have to find parking or worry about getting home after dinner with drinks. We had 2 decks AND a screened in porch. Great accommodations for all the fun and made for great memories. Highly recommended!
Our townhome at Eagle Ridge was not worth the $450 nightly rate (which was for the townhome only, no golf or meals). The decor, fixtures and furniture (except for new TVs) were stuck in the the 80s, which might seem like a silly thing to complain about, but it was very unimpressive. The upkeep of the townhome was severely lacking. I bought room spray for the bad odor. There were hardened chunks of soap stuck in the soap dish in our bathroom (though our bar of soap was new and still in its wrapping, so at least I knew it was unused). The shower door had a lot of soap scum. There were holes in the fake paneling on our bathroom door. The whole unit felt grimy and not what you expect for a $1,000 weekend. The 3 beds each with their own bath on 3 levels were convenient, but I felt gross sleeping in that bedding. I would have asked for another unit but figured they are all probably at the same level on the yuck meter. Whoever owns the townhome should put a little money into sprucing it up. Otherwise the Galena Territory is beautiful and the views are stunning.…
We had stayed at the resort a few years ago. It was tired then but not now. They have remodeled and the rooms are very nice. Golf was great at the general and the North course. Loved having a cocktail on the deck outside overlooking the lake and sunset. We rented a pontoon boat for and hour which was very reasonable and fun. We had breakfast on Sunday which was very good. Only a 10 minute trip to downtown Galena. Will go again and recommend.
We stayed at a home in Galena territories that had access to amenities at raffle ridge and spa. The pools were awesome and staff were friendly. The hiking trails were beautiful, but a little slippery due to old pavement after a heavy rain. The home we rented was big enough for our large family and a pet. Even though there were a lot of people in the area, it still felt secluded and private, which was nice!
Had a small family reunion here. We rented a townhouse, which turned out to be right off one of the golf course. Very nice and quiet location with easy parking and access. The staff at the lodge were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was at the main lodge (not included in our package), but reasonable and all we could eat buffet. We ate dinner, which is out at the Highlands Restaurant, near US Hwy 20 W. It was good food and a nice view over another golf course. The Country Store was close to the Highlands Restaurant and convenient for picking up a few things and not having to drive into Galena. Overall a great place to visit and have a relaxing vacation!
