Stayed one night on a road trip. Beautiful property from a bygone era. Updated modern rooms with all of the conveniences but charm of the 20's. The elevator will rocket you to your floor with no wait. Linens and amenities are super nice. All staff I interacted with was very nice. I wanted to steal the beautiful tapestry bed spread... More

I reserved a room for the evening of June 27, 2016 based upon online advertising by this hotel. It looked very nice, a traditional European feel, but clean and updated. Upon arrival I was greeted by a musty smell in the lobby, which was quite old and run down in appearance. I asked to see my room and was taken... More

Very cute boutique hotel which was still quite close to downtown Chicago. Me and my family are on a cross the USA roadtrip and stumbled across this place by surprise. Elevator is very small and old, but it still did the job for me and my family. Next time we visit Chicago, we would definitely try to stay here again.... More

We came to chicago to watch the cubs play baseball. Chose this hotel as part of choice hotels and had no clue the excitement we would experience at this hotel. I have to say this historic hotel is by far one of the greatest of have stayed in. Antique furniture, woodwork, and the history is astonishing. The French pastry chef,... More

This was a wonderful establishment that has an intersting history to it. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom was modern with complementary q-tips and cotton balls. It even had bathrobes! But that was just the start. The breakfast consisted of wonderful pastries made by their French chef daily (and personally I ate way more than I should have). The... More

We booked the Margarita Inn for 3 nights, but ended up staying for only two. The management was very nice about us leaving early. There's a lovely rooftop lounge area, a great old elevator, and fabulous continental breakfast with wonderful home made pastries, greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs and steel cut oatmeal. The tea selection could have been higher-end, but... More

I don't normally take the time to review my stays but this one was worth the time. Super comfy beds and linens, nice baths, and furnished very nicely. The building has a lot of history and they have preserved it nicely. The lounge, library, patio, and rooftop lounge were very nice and inviting. The breakfast was excellent and all service... More

What a charming place! There are 5 of us traveling together...Parents and a 12 yr old, 13 yr old, and 16 yr old. We all loved it. My kids had never stayed in an older place with history attached to it. The building is a former boarding house for women. I believe it was built in the 1920's or 30's.... More

I get to travel the US only twice per year and without an exception end-up in one of the mid-range hotel-chains. All good & great but never inspiring and never out of the ordinary. US chains do a great job in guaranteeing standardized quality but together with 'bad surprises' it also takes out the 'good surprises'. So I was thrilled... More

Stayed here this June on our way up to the U.P. We were looking for a nice place outside of Chicago Evanston fit the bill beautifully. This hotel is located just outside of a historic district on the lake shore and only half a block from a nice neighborhood shopping and eating area. It is a great place to get... More
