Connie and Gary were so incredibly hospitable. Aside from the delicious breakfast and afternoon sweet treats, there was 24/7 access to water/soda/coffee and milk to go with your dessert! They had several board games to choose from and we really enjoyed spending some time playing a game on our porch. Gary has a small room of antiques available to purchase, alongside some fun books on the history of Elsah, IL. Green Tree Inn also has bikes available to borrow to ride around and check out their sweet little town. Overall, my husband and I had such a fun experience. I'm already planning a girls trip back in a few weeks!!
Some experiences are good and you're glad you had them but probably wouldn't do them again. Once in a while, a great experience happens. You try to repeat it over and over again. Many times the thrill of the new fades. Not so with Green Tree Inn. We love it now more than ever. We have been to the Green Tree so many times we have lost count. Friends introduced us several years ago to the Inn and to Connie and Gary. Since then acquaintance has moved from casual to close to close and intimate. We are glad to say Connie and Gary make this priceless gem in a priceless town the best possible. Connie's cooking is a marvel, from her fresh treats on arrival to her thoughtfully prepared breakfasts. Gary's humor is infectious and his story telling fun. Connie enjoys laughter as well. You can relax at Green Tree Inn but you can not get bored. The people, Inn, and town are something to experience over and over again.…
I was so grateful for a peaceful and perfect weekend at this lovely B&B. The welcome was warm and sincere and the precious couple that own and run this hotel are just beautiful and loving people. And their love is evident in every thoughtful touch and detail of their gorgeous property. The food is delicious, the dining room is gorgeous and the breakfast conversation was fascinating and an welcome bonus. Everything about my stay was perfect and I am looking forward to many more visits.
Loved my stay at the Green Tree Inn! My room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable, and breakfast...delicious. One of the best omelettes I’ve ever had! GreenTree was the perfect spot to get away from the craziness and slow down a bit. Gary and Connie were so nice and they provided helpful suggestions for sightseeing and restaurants!
This place is a little gem, tucked away in the valley by the Mississippi. Step back in time 100-200 years, the attention to the food was delicious and so are the afternoon "sweet treats". I'll be back!
