Well appointed cabin for 2 adults and 1 child, son loved the loft. Perfectly located for Rim Rock (walking distance), Pounds Hollow, Garden of the Gods, and Bell Smith - all spectacular hikes and natural areas. The cabin was well looked after and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. Good WiFi too.
We came here with my son, his friends and our two dogs for his 16th birthday. It was great. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The location is perfect for site seeing the Shawnee National Forest. We hiked at Rim Rock, which is across the highway, Pounds Hollow and Garden of the Gods. We drove around Glen O Jones Lake. Although it's the end of January, we had a sunny, clear day. We even had a campfire at the campfire pit last night. Rim Rock Cabins is a beautiful place and we recommend it any time of year.
This place was absolutely perfect -- just what we wanted. We stayed in Cougar's Bluff Cabin - I believe the smallest of their cabins. yes, its small, but just enough space for us... two adults and two border collies! We were gone hiking during much of the day, and had great weather for November and spent the afternoons early evenings by the fire and playing horseshoes!! Did not meet the owners... actually only saw people there about twice... our neighboring cabins residents appeared to be away much of the time. Cabin had all that we needed, including movies. Both beds are nice futon mattresses - but comfortable. Can't wait to plan a trip back.
This is my second visit with my sister & my dog. We stayed in Bears Den last year and we loved it so much that we came home right away booking this year trip so that we could stay longer and book a cabin with a larger kitchen. We went from four days last year to nine days this year. This time we stayed in Eagle Retreat. This cabin was perfect for accommodating our every needs. We had a full size kitchen, one and a half bath with an enclosed screen patio from the kitchen. Did I mention the two level floor plan cabin sleeps nine? Although it was just the two of us, we stayed on the lower level. This trip was more memorable because the horse corral was a few feet from our cabin & we got to pet the horses & my dog finally got to me the owners dog during our walks around the…
I'd stayed in Coyote Hollow several times and each time I think it's been my best visit ever. This time was no different. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. I love the back porch with forest view. The cabin has everything you need, including brochures for things to do in the area. Already planning my next visit.
