Stayed for 2 nights no hot water, dusty, dirty frudge, broken blinds, constantly running toilet. Told management about this and they commented they would fix it after we left. Mind u I paid 400 dollars for 2 nights there. Also recieved a and degree burn from their propane grill that had a bad igniter. Another lady left a review on Facebook that her cabin smelt of urine and mold. They also refused her a refund because she went in to pee after making a 2 hour drive there. I was doubled booked as well would not recommend anyone to stay here.also upon asking for a charcoal grill they gave me one that wouldnt even stand up.
This was a “one in the morning decision to skip town for a night” kind of planning. I called and Steve was awesome. We reserved the dog house and let me tell you! We drove in and I kid you not the sweetest donkeys were hanging out right in front of our cabin. The attention to detail, The privacy, the decorations, cleanliness...five stars. The awesome rooster, their so very cool livestock guardian dog Scout (who happened to walk my girls to the cabin and back like the awesome breed he is). After being cooped up in the house for months, this place even for a night brought some sanity back to our family. The effort put forth by this family that runs this place did not go unnoticed! Don’t forget to look up into the sky when you are doing your campfire. We have never seen so many stars being from Chicago. We were able to hike rim rock just before it got dark and campfire at night. Again, I have never seen a place put such an amazing effort to make sure you enjoy your time there! One of a kind place for sure! Thank you!…
Due to Covid, all of our vacations for the year were cancelled. We were looking for someplace to go and do something and yet not be around many other people. We had never been to this part of southern IL before. The cabins are in a perfect location, close to lots of hiking areas: Rim Rock, Garden of the God's, Pounds Hallow, etc. We stayed in Coyote Hollow. It was a nice little cabin with an outside fire pit and gas grill. We used both. There were some cute x-mas lights on the front porch and deck that looked nice lighted at night. We were happy to find two roasting sticks in the cabin. (Some families might prefer more than 2 sticks.) There were also a few lighters which helped getting a fire started. Plenty of free firewood too. The best part was NO mosquitos during our stay!! The property was VERY beautiful and well maintained! We LOVED the animals and we visited them every day. There was even a small garden we could pick veggies from and some additional trails on the property we had wished we'd found sooner. It was contactless from check in to check out and all of the cabins were spaced well from each other so we really felt like we were the only ones on the property. Cell service in the area was very limited, however the cabins did have fiber optic wi-fi. A few 'cons': the bathroom floor in our cabin was pretty worn and could be replaced, the mattresses were just 'ok', we would have preferred the kitchen/appliances be cleaned better, some of the outside furniture by the fire and some deck furniture was quite worn and could definitely be replaced and the cabin could be a little more updated. All this being said, we've already discussed going back another time to this same cabin or to try out some of the other ones. It was a nice and relaxing get away!! There is a lot to do in the area!…
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rimrock dogwood cabins. The cabins had all we needed for our family and dogs. My daughter especially liked the farm animals and I loved spending evenings around the fire pit. Plus the area hikes were beautiful and not crowded.
My wife and I and our pooch are currently here and have nothing but good to say! They have thought of everything you may need and provided it. The only thing you need to bring is food, charcoal (although there is a propane grill provided as well) and any personal items you may want. Cabins are clean, well stocked and in a beautiful setting. The check in and check out is about as easy as you can make it! I wont list all the things they have here in case you bring children but there are plenty of things to do nearby and they provide a book with listings that give names, locations, how far from campsite, as I said they thought of everything. Plenty of hiking and such close by.The cabin we are in is very "rustic"l and comfortable (and clean). We are in one of the smaller cabins (Cougar Bluff) and although a little tight with a big dog we love it. I had asked prior to arrival if the thermostat was accessable because my wife gets cold easy and when we showed up the heater was on and we came in to a toasty cabin! Thank you for all the thought you put into the visitors and their wants, great job!!!…
