Having enjoyed a good few Afternoon teas at the Roslyn hotel previously, I happily suggested it for a dear friends 70th Birthday How embarrassed was I Covid restrictions were followed perfectly and they just had set sittings for each tea. Ours was at a 3.15 sitting and while being one of the 1st to arrive our food was one of the last to arrive at 3.50. just one-hour latter at exactly 4.50. We were asked if we wanted boxes to take the remaining food home! unbelievable. We then asked the same waitress if she would take a photo of us to which she agreed but said she would remove our plates as they did not look good in the photos, the plates were taken away and never returned despite the fact that about 8/9 cakes and scones still remained on the cake stands! unbelievable We were not rude, loud or annoying and just like all the other paying customers enjoying what should have been a special experience. On looking around she had already managed to empty out a few tables. At exactly 5.30 the lights were turned down in the room. Nothing like being told to go. At least 7/8 tables still had customers eating at this point! On the food this also was a disappointment while the sandwiches/scones could not be faulted. However, quiches were missing and the cakes left a lot to be desired all much of a muchness with a mouse like consistency while on previous visits these have been a wide Varity of tarts, meringue, sponge etc. On very disappointed customer who will not be returning session

Hotel's Favorite
We were due to visit the Roslin in May for our wedding anniversary however it was cancelled due to COVID-19. The hotel re-opened a couple of weeks ago so we decided to take the plunge and were very pleased that we did. Any concerns around the pandemic were quickly addressed both in advance through the website and upon arrival where clearly the hotel is doing everything possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay. The reception was reassuring and once you undergo a shortened check-in process, they will call you in the room to provide full details for your stay. We were very fortunate to have been given an upgrade to one of the suites overlooking the sea and whilst all rooms are of a very high standard (we have stayed twice previously) this was exceptional. The staff are always thoroughly polite and professional however they really seem to be going the extra mile to reassure customers. We must give a special mention to Joelle who seemed to be everywhere providing an excellent service and also doing an excellent job of ensuring shared spaces were cleaned. Thanks to you all at Roslin - we'll see you again soon.

Brilliant room with a great view. Attentive staff. Food very good, bit pricey though. The menu could be more varied, too many fish dishes, no pork or chicken. Also had to wait awhile for our food. Breakfast menu was excellent.

Stayed for a couple of days in October 2020. The hotel was very comfortable, stayed in a twin room with sea view and balcony. Beds very comfy, loads of towels supplied, shower was good. Had dinner in the restaurant and lunch in the bar, both good food, however my dinner was cold. Didn't want to complain, but restaurant took my 'meal was ok' as not being good enough, and came back to find out what was wrong without me complaining. They discounted my whole 3 course meal by 50%, great service. All the staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Covid measures were taken very seriously, with chairs being wiped down in the bar and restaurant as soon as someone left the table. Hand sanitisers were plentiful, all over the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and would stay there again.
