We called from a mobile phone while on the road heading towards home. The person on the phone could not have been more helpful given that we didn't know exactly when we would turn up. We arrived t a warm welcome in a busy pub. The table was waiting for us and we had a delicious meal with excellent beer...

We had a short weekend break and stayed at the Black Horse - very friendly staff made us feel welcome straight away. The bedroom was clean and tidy. The log fire in the bar was a comfort after walking to the monument on the knoll behind the Inn. Food was well prepared, and there was a good choice. Breakfast was...

Our Sunday lunchtime experience should have been so much better than it was. We were advised to arrive at a certain time as the restaurant was going to be busy. It wasn't, but we were still kept waiting. The service was slow and disorganised, with plates put in front of the wrong people four times. The food was bland and...

The two of us were walking the Cotswold Way and this was our third stay. Checking in was quick and easy. The staff and service were alright but not too friendly and didn't seem to have time for you concerns. Dinner was way too expensive but good. The room itself wasn't cleaned properly. We found things, visitors before us have...

Gorgeous little pub, my room was lovely and very clean. It had also been newly refurbished. The staff, especially the landlord, were so friendly and accommodating. I travelled alone as I was on a course, but had no reservations about going down to the bar for a meal on the Saturday night. I would recommend this place as a lovely...

A quaint beamed pub with an open fire and charming tearoom. Bedrooms are good but small, as to be expected in an old country pub. Linen is of good quality and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean if a little tired. We were attending a birthday party nearby on the Saturday evening and were surprised to find that...

Nice welcoming feel, room was clean, comfortable and the en suite was very good. Wifi was weak and the area is bad for mobile phone reception anyway so that made a frustrating combination and in the 1st floor rooms there is a constant level of noise from the bar below, mainly a drone of voices until late on.

Absolutely loved it here. Stayed on two different occasions and each stay was equally enjoyable. I will most definately be staying again. The staff are warm and welcoming. The food is beautiful fresh and homely. Highly recommend.

Dan and his staff will give you a very warm welcome and friendly helpful service. The Black Horse is a typical old village pub, all beams and uneven floors. The rooms are comfortable without being fussy. There is a good range of ales and ciders and the food is varied and generous. As it appears to be one of the...
