Overall our stay was excellent. We stayed for a total of three nights at the end of June. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. On our second night there we had one small issue with the lock to our door, but the staff worked very hard to resolve the issue. If you are a Gold Member or higher, I recommend asking to use the fitness center in the convention center next door.

Booked a king suite for 2 nights with my fiance. The room was fairly clean, although I saw a piece of popcorn on the nightstand and I don't know where it came from. Some of the furniture looks worn with scratches and gouges, but still functional. The lever to switch between the tub faucet and the shower head was leaky, but did not make a mess because it drained into the tub (should probably fix or replace it before it gets worse).

The executive lounge was closed due to the pandemic, so I am not able to comment on that. I was offered to use the premium fitness center due to being a Diamond member, which was a nice offer. Housekeeping services are limited due to the pandemic, so they will only clean rooms after people check-out or are staying an extended period of time. Rooms had a seal on them to show that nobody entered them since housekeeping cleaned it, which is what Hilton is supposed to be doing in all of their properties. I did go to the front desk to request more clean towels because they only put 2 of them in the bathroom and staff delivered them to my room 10-15 minutes later.

The staff were all friendly and wearing masks with every interaction that I saw. Some of the hotel guests were not wearing masks, but there did not seem to be any requirement for it. The date I checked out was the date that Hilton was supposed to be requiring every property to enforce everyone, staff and guests, to wear masks at all times when they are indoors in public areas, so hopefully everyone will be told to wear a mask when they enter the building.

Overall, I thought this hotel was good for the price. It was fairly quiet, likely due to low occupancy. We would likely stay here again in the future.

If you're in the Downers Grove area looking for a place to stay that is clean with friendly, helpful staff members look no further than the DoubleTree Suites on Butterfield Road. Large clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast buffet.

For me it was also within walking distance of my destination.

I especially like that you can 'Opt Out' for housekeeping meaning they won't come make up the room and clean up. In exchange, you get 1,000 Hilton Honors points. However, like in my case, by the last night of stay I needed a couple more towels/hand towels and they had them up to the room within a few minutes.

We had great customer assistance when a problem arose in our room. Our A/C unit had stopped working. It had been hours and the room just wasnt cooling off. Fast forward, it is now 10 pm and we cannot sleep due to the temp in the room. My husband went down to talk to someone and they were immediately in our room checking on it and being very mindful of our youngest who was already asleep. Maintence came up right away and found the compressor was bad and we indeed needed to switch rooms. Not the most ideal at almost 11 pm but we appreciated how quick they were. Ivan/Yvonne was great and very helpful to us. It was so nice to have such great service even if something went wrong.

Still waiting for a call. Never expected this from a Hilton property. Super loud and crazy at check in. We’ll it’s okay because they are “paying thousands of dollars”. Guess hundreds of dollars we are paying for a getaway doesn’t matter. Front desk had zero and I mean zero courtesy. First thing out of his mouth was we do not have your room type we are sold out and you can go elsewhere. Having traveled for 15+ hours not possible. Sleeper sofas linen dirty, double bed for two adults super small couldn’t sleep because of the noise plus having to put up with it wrong beds. Went back down at 6 AM to see the same rude agent to tell me that I was unable to speak to a manager and refused to help When we get back to the room to find out there is no daily service because of housekeeping shortage (why-rent a room when you do not have stuff). Finally receiver king bed to find out the sleeper sofa I was worse we totally sheets dirty linen dirty down blanket. Forget about receiving any service at all they will not even bring you towels so you must go down for towels and you’ll be lucky to find any towels or other amenities. Motel would have been better.

Where do I begin? Check-in was a joke. The computers were down and I was never notified that the card was actually billed until I got the emailed receipt after I checked out.

There was a BIG roach clinging to one of my shirts that was hung up and a baby roach in the tub (I just hope to God that I didn't bring any of those nasty critters home with me!). Guessing that since the room was directly across from the breakfast area that it wandered from there.

When I addressed the problem with the front desk, they asked me if I wanted to change rooms so that the "pest control guy can address the insect problem" and as an afterthought offered to post Hilton Honors Bonus points to my account.

Also, someone's half-empty bottle of Coca Cola was sitting in the fridge in the room? Seriously? Obviously, good and thorough cleaning staff are hard to find. But being a good citizen, I did empty the damn thing and throw it away to save the next guest the trouble and to potentially keep MORE ROACHES away!!

We apologize that our systems we down due to a local power outage we do have a manual process in place that may take slightly longer than normal electronic check in. We do have the hotel inspected and sprayed for types of insects on a very regular basis. I will be addressing the issue of cleanliness with the housekeeping staff to ensure this does not happen again. We do strive to achieve the best possible experience for each and every guest and hope you will consider staying with us again in the future,

We've stayed at this Doubletree many times. I understand that the pandemic has brought about necessary changes, but even with an apparent price decrease, the lack of services is really unacceptable. There should be a way around no breakfast and no cookies. For HHonors members or others the refrigerated kiosk should have no charge items, instead of pay for everything. There should be some substitution for the homemade cookies, even individually wrapped store bought bakery. In leu of the evening reception, drink coupons could be offered at the bar. With so few people staying, it is sometimes difficult to get your room cleaned. Housekeeping staff was one day told to not even come in. They did an excellent job when they did clean. However, when we arrived and broke the Hilton CleanStay seal there was bridal ribbon & receipts sticking out from behind the dresser. Staff is limited, but they are very friendly. Special kudos to Sharon in helping choose our terrific room. And to Yvonne, who has been kind and helpful on every visit(18 year Hilton veteran) and greeted us by name as we left and returned during the day. She's a gem!

The night clerk had his mask hanging around his neck. The following morning I noticed the maintenance staff walking around the hotel and they were not wearing masks. I went to the front desk and ask why they had a sign saying it was mandatory and yet staff were not wearing masks, She had no answer. I told her that her mask was also worthless since it only covered her mouth and not her nose. She pulled it up and it fell down and she left it down. I asked for the manager and she said that she was a manager. I asked for the General Manager and she said he was not there and she did not know when he would be at the hotel. If the staff does not wear masks then how can they expect guests to wear masks, I am a gold member and soon to be platinum but I will go to the Marriott up the street where they follow the mask protocol.

We thank you for staying with us and we appreciate your feedback. Our property does undergo a weekly Covid -19 test for all employees. We have also had zero positive results at our property as well. We do have some staff members with proper documentation for being unable to wear a mask for extended periods of time however when they are interacting or helping a guest their masks are on. Our property does undergo and follow proper Hilton Clean Stay protocol.

The hotel is nice and a great location. The hotel is extremely short staffed. The first night we found a washcloth with what appeared to be blood and fecal matter hanging from the shower curtain rod. We informed the staff who came and removed the soiled washcloth. They offered for us to move to a different room but it was 10:30 at night and our son was already sleeping in bed so we turned that down. The executive lounge is closed. They never have cookies at the front desk or water. The gym did not have sanitation supplies for the equipment. The staff seems exasperated but trying hard. They also don’t seem to know very little about client benefits. I am a Diamond member with Hilton for about 20 years. They did not offer the breakfast vouchers which the app says they are supposed to. I’d avoid this hotel until the management get their act together.
