I stayed here one night and when I woke up for breakfast it was amazing. Clarence makes everything from scratch every morning. Fresh eggs not dry, bacon, and Fresh biscuits and gravy. So much of a selection, but I have had breakfast many places, but this takes the cake for best breakfast at a hotel in Illinois.

There were professional hotel staff members except for an irritated older man at the front desk. He confirmed that 2 defective (loud and sparking) hairdryers had been replaced. He said he would be watching for a "good review' from me as a result. We checked in early. The bathroom had an exhaust fan. The price per night was not worth the inconveniences. Someone placed a new hairdryer in our room without permission despite COVID-19 guidelines. The limited bath linen smelled like cigarette smoke. The bathtub faucet was loose. The toilet base had a large chip. There were no towel handles or bars to hang reused towels on to dry. One bed was TOO close to the wall. The queen beds seemed small to be considered queen size. There was a dead fly smashed on the balcony door window. The balcony door handle was very loose. This posed a safety concern. The bathroom floor was dirty with hair and stains. Our hall always smelled offensive (like recreational plant smoke), and had construction dust on the carpeting and sprinkler lines semi-exposed overhead. The vending machine had VERY warm water. The breakfast was very limited and lacked any complete proteins. Some options for complete proteins at breakfast could include hard boiled eggs, milk, cream cheese, yogurt, or cottage cheese.

Overall the hotel is pretty run down and dirty. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating but I got the sense they were fairly understaffed. When we got to our room the blanket, sheets and two of the pillows were dirty. There was hair in the sheets. They sent up new linens which we replaced. There were no towels at all in the bathroom. When we requested some we were informed they were out of wash clothes but they will send up bath and hand towels. When they brought up bath towels they said they were also out of hand towels but we could get more the next day. The next day I requested more towels and was told again that they were out of hand towels but I could have one towel and one washcloth(for 2 guests) up at the room we found the towel was dirty and had blood on it! On top of all of that they advertise “free breakfast buffet” which is a grab and go breakfast consisting of bananas, oranges, oatmeal and granola bars. At least the staff was friendly!

This hotel was a great disappointment. Internet, cable was down for over 24 hours, no manager on duty, staff had to scramble and guests suffered for this inconvenience. Was told the manager would be in at 7 am to assist us, then told he would be in at 7:30, heard from the manager at 8am. No resolution with cable/internet.. I had asked if I could be transferred to another Holiday Inn Express, no assistance. They advertise as a business hotel, but no back up plan, no sense of urgency when cable and internet are out of order. This problem should have been addressed immediately by management staff. It was a hotel issue not the internet provider, they had a patched up firewall system on the computers, probably very old cable as well.
As a side note when I checked into my room there was no shampoo or bath gel in the dispenser."HOT" breakfast " was very cold, was told "Heat it up in the microwave". This was at 8:00 am, breakfast bar had opened at 7 am. Not very accommodating to their guests. Will stick with the Marriott chains from now on.

As all things in life, there will be a time when electronics will have wear and tear and it will break down at some point. Since I was personally involved resolving this situation, I explained to you in person that there was a service time of 24-48 hours from the vendors side to get a new Firewall in place and have the internet back up and running. When I spoke with you at the time of checking out, I apologies to your for the trouble and I did return your one free night stay worth of points back to your account, which I thought it was fair thing to do to make you happy and to appreciate your loyalty towards IHG. I completely understand how frustrating this can be but sometimes some things are just not in your control and no matter how prepared you are, it will always take some time to make the way they suppose to be and that's just life because no place is a perfect place in this world. Even after your spouse had my Guest Service Employee in tears because you were upset about the situation, we still always greeted you with a smile. We understand that we are in a service industry and we know moments like this will always accrue, we still like to believe that everyone has the right and should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of which side of the table you are in. We stayed the weekend due to home renovation and were very nervous about cleanliness and COVID19. Our room #313 hadn’t been clean thoroughly. It was full of flying bugs and my 4 yo daughter pointed our large spider webs throughout the tv stand and tables. The bathroom had muddy footprints in certain sections. I called front desk & was told that housekeeping would come clean the room. My reply was due to COVID, how would this be done safely? I was told “no worries, it’ll be okay”! I refused housekeeping so social distance reasons & demanded a room change. At that point, he appeared annoyed & told me “well, come get a key to another room”! What type of service is this?? We cleaned the new room and settled in. The next morning we heard loud bangs & realized it was the housekeeper. she was cleaning rooms in the area, with her cart blocking our doors, all while not wearing a MASK at all. Her helper, a younger guy wore his mask like a chin strap!

Holiday Inn should be embarrassed to claim this property as part of their franchise! The pictures make it look like a nice place, which is not at all the case. It was late when we checked and the front desk worker was very friendly and got us our keys quickly. The rest of the experience was downhill from there. There is only one elevator and it is very slow. The entire lobby reaked of marijuana as did the hallways as we walked to our room. Our room door was not pulled shut all the way so we cautiously entered the room. After everything checked out OK we settled in for the night. The next morning my wife witnessed two arguments in the lobby - one over a guess not wearing a mask and another for no orange juice available at 8 am on Saturday morning. We quickly left the building and vow never to return to this hotel.

this hotel isn’t accommodating. when i ask for a receipt for my stay the answer is always, “our system is down.” bathrooms are always dirty, shower handles are trash, and the door to your room doesn’t latch unless you kick it…. not to mention that if you go direct through the hotel to book a stay, they will charge you $100 more than any other booking site. this hotel has been under ‘renovation’ forever now. i guess the family member they are using doesn’t know what he is doing. i had the window trim(which was a quartz tile) just fall off the wall during the night…

Good location, very very helpful and kind staff. I was greeted by Parth on sweltering day where temps were almost 100 degrees, and he immediately handed me an ice cold bottle of water before even checking me in. Room is clean and smells nice (important as a lot of hotel rooms have that musty odor). Lots of close by restaurants in walking distance which was important to me as a business traveler. Breakfast has a lot of selections and again here the staff was super. The lobby is a bit older looking and a bit dark without natural light (this is clearly a hotel that is being/was revamped) but the staffs attention to guest services makes up for any decor shortfall.

great clean rooms, veronica was extremely sweet. The gym was clean and the weights room was pretty good with all the dumbbells. the shower was very hygienic and they offered lotion, hand soap, body wash , shampoo and conditioner they also offered toiletries that are much appreciated.

i was there awhile ago and I didnt see any charging stations, thats the best i can answer
We do have roll-away beds, but unfortunately we are unable to place any roll-away beds in rooms that have two queen size beds. It is against the fire code of Downers Grove. I apologize for any inconvenience.
well right across the parking lot there is a bus stop and it seems like there's always a bus there and a lot of the people that work at the hotel or work in the nearby area take that bus and in my mind I think that they are going downtown to Chicago
