This hotel is housed in a 17th century house in a small English village, which is part of the Chatsworth Estate. The public area are small but cost. The dining area more than accommodate the people eating. Our room was quite large-- I suspect each room ( which has its own name-- is laid out differently. It was spotless and... More

This is more than a pub but not so formal as a hotel. The room we had was luxuriously appointed and decorated to a very high standard. The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. The menu was fairly simple but of the very highest standard. We had a wonderful relaxing break in a beautiful part of England and felt like... More

Saturday late lunch time. As you park you think this looks nice, lovely stone building within a short stroll of Chatsworth farm shop. A busy restaurant come pub. Polite efficient service, perhaps a little slow with diverting food. Good choice of starters and main courses where most people would find something to please, also a good selection of sandwiches. The four... More

We stayed here for 1 night with our 15 month old daughter. We didn't arrive until 8pm so didn't get to spend that much time around the b&b but from what we saw it was lovely. The location is beautiful, stunning views, the room was immaculate and food at breakfast was delicious. The only reason I didn't give it a... More

The location is great - beautiful countryside and you can walk to Chatsworth (though along roads). There's a picturesque round-about route that goes through Edensor and involves fewer roads. Lovely views even from the car park, and Pilsley village is very pretty - come out of the Inn, turn right, and walk up the hill until you hit the wood... More

We stayed for three nights. Our deluxe room was nice, but with the sofa bed open for our daughter, it was quite cramped in the room for three people. Nice touches in the room, e.g. biscuits, good filter coffee, but although we had booked for three occupants, there was only two of bathroom toiletries, towels, cups, etc. The staff were... More

This is a beautifully located hotel in a beautiful, quiet village. The views are unbelievable. I agree with some of the other reviews. The staff in the pub (who also check you in) are a bit scatty and often incompetent. Some are real characters but greater professionalization seems in order. We were told we could order a newspaper to be... More

I do not like leaving poor reviews as I realise it is very bad for the particular business however I am so unhappy with our stay here I feel I have no option. We stayed at the weekend, a Saturday night, the pub is meant to close at 11.00 so one would reasonably expect the place to be empty and... More

I made the booking through Booking.com. Very quickly after the booking I received a nice email from the Devonshire asking if I wished to book a table and whether I had any allergies. On arrival, I had a friendly greeting but the staff member had no idea about the breakfast times! On entering the rooms, it is not very clear... More

We went for Sunday Lunch with my mum, having looked at the online menu. When we arrived we found that the Sunday menu was two roasts, or a vegetarian dish (risotto). In fact my wife and I had the roast lamb which was excellent, served with a delicious Yorkshire Pud and petty of good fresh veg. My mother had the... More
