Lovely dinner, nice bar, stylish room & ensuite, soft pillows & mattresses, friendly & welcoming staff; small and cosy establishment. Only negative was that once Full English breakfast arrives, in order to have fresh warm toast with it each guest goes to buffet area to make own toast, leaving breakfast to start going cold on the dining table. We mentioned...

Lovely four poster bedded room in the farm house next door to the pub, small but adequate bedroom with a large bathroom. Excellent 3 course meal and relaxing breakfast the following morning . Would love to return some time soon!

We enjoyed a lovely weekend in the cottages at the Devonshire Arms, in May 2016. The weather was cooperative, so we were able to see the area at it's best. We had the Celandine room, which was across the road from the pub, and upstairs. It had a small, pretty, bathroom, which really wouldn't work for larger people. I had...

This is an 'Inn With Rooms', and if you're expecting a glamorous country hotel on arrival, you'll be disappointed. It's a small village pub, and from the outside looks just that way. But inside it's beautiful and upstairs is something of a tardis. Our room was gorgeous with beautiful view, and amazing Chatsworth biscuits! We had a meal in the...

Part of the Chatsworth Estate, and two minutes drive from the famous Chatsworth House, this country pub/hotel is an ideal place if you like the open country, yet near enough to lovely small towns like Buxton or Bakewell. You're in the middle of the Peak District which is famous for its walks and country houses (not many open in winter)....

We've just spent a night (4th February) dinner, bed & breakfast at this Devonshire arms courtesy of a Travel zoo offer. Everything was spot on, the room was stunning with a big four-poster bed which was high enough to need the supplied set of steps (see photo), we had the Bubnell room which had a beautiful view over the valley. The...

We had a very comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and the room was excellent. The bed was impressive requiring a small set of steps to climb up to it. High quality teas and coffees with some nice biscuits to compliment. The food was good, not fine dinning but gastro pub grub done very well. I would certainly wish to...

Situated on the Chatsworth Estate, this is s superb gastro pub, with rooms. Quality interiors, with sumptuous four poster beds, ours had a stool to climb up into. Beautifully traditional in decor, with luxury bathroom fittings and accessories. Our room had a superb view. Lovely selection of teas and coffees and scrummy biscuits. This place is not cheap, however, what...

We stayed one night with the Groupon offer of £139 for db&b, which was good value (but due to the poor food quality I wouldn't return, even at this good price). We stayed in the farmhouse where all the rooms are four poster (I think). Our room was really lovely, the finishing touches were great and I think it was...
