I stayed at this Fort Palace last weekend (10th 11th September, 2016). It was a pleasant, relaxed and homely stay. We been welcomed in a traditional manner, which gives you a feeling of a guest instead of a customer, and throughout our stay we been treated as a guest. Its 130km from Delhi and 109Km from Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. Its... More

hi. this is one review where you may find me complaining about a single point more. please bear with me, as it did matter a lot. this property belongs to the ex-maharaja of the area and has now been converted into a resort. we went as a group of roughly 14 adults and children, in the month of august. this... We first visited this place by chance, as a route stop. And fell in love with it. Since then we have been there a number of times - with our 20 something children, with our friends as a couples only trip, and with our parents. Apart from us, all these diverse people liked the place. This is a palace, where... More

The drive to the fort itself assures to what awaits ahead for you.once you enter the fortess gateway,a labyrinth of places to walk, read, and relax welcomes you. How exotic you feel in the classy rooms that smack of royalty. The food is homelike and the staff friendly. The feel of the place is not commercial at all. A 5... More

We had a fabulous experience which started with a tour of the hotel including the view from the roof. There is a room with relics of bygone tiger hunts, and apparently the Maharajah still lives in part of the building. The hotel arranged for us to have a tour by water buffalo cart around the local village - and I... More

This Fort Palace takes you back to the British era. A must visit place if you are interested in history and palaces. This place certainly has a lot of stories. The check-in was smooth and staff was more than happy to assist. Food menu isn't too lavish but tastes homely and light. A visit during winters is recommended as summers... More

It was a few years ago. Nice enough getaway from the big city. Rooms are clean but nothing special. Food - nothing to write home about. Staff - average. The place is huge, so it's nice to walk around. In fact, that's probably the best part. Nothing special about the location either.

Most reviewers focus on the holiday angle and rightly so. We however ended up holding an offsite meeting at this venue. Personally I am against opulence built thanks to British "generosity"; this property is a reminder of this ugly reality, thankfully of the past. It is surrounded by reminders of how a minority subjugated the majority (villagers). I was repulsed... More

2-3 hrs drive from Delhi, Fort Unchagaon is a perfect getaway from the city hustle. Nestled in a small village, it's a grand heritage property which has a vintage charm to it. The moment you enter, the big gates open up for your reception and are welcomed with the tinge of Indian tradition of 'tikka'. One feels like one is... More

An ideal weekend break from Dehi, when you don't want to take a long drive. Its a relaxing place as there is nothing much to do there - eat, sleep, read. There is no TV in the room and the pool is a slightly large sized bathtub! So definitely not a place for people who get easily bored....But if you... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
'Splendid' is the word that instantly strikes us as we enter the premises of the royal heritage hotel - The Fort Unchagaon. Equipped with every imaginable modern amenity, it is a much loved weekend getaway for close friends and relatives who cherish a passion for the old Zamindari way of life. The décor of this majestic fort reflects authentic aristocracy in all its aspects. In the imposing white façade of the Surya Mahal, the understated elegance of the living rooms and the bedrooms has remained a way of life. Even the billiards room, with its display of magnificent trophies, is no exception. Fort Unchagaon offers 23 spacious rooms and suites which represent a curious mix of the conventional and the contemporary. The place is reminiscent of an era long gone but hardly forgotten. Not only just the heritage touch, but the property offers an array of activities both on the traditional and adventure front. ... more   less
