We found this B&B thru AAA, and were glad of it. We had the entire upstairs all to ourselves since we needed 3 guest rooms, and enjoyed our time there. Joy was friendly and helpful. Her breakfasts were wonderful - tasty, pretty and awesome all rolled in to one. We were there 2 nights so enjoyed two scrumptious breakfasts at... More

It would be impossible to describe how idyllic the setting is for the Old Brick Inn. The sounds of nature in the evening were so relaxing and preparing for my continuing journey from the balcony porch allowed me to focus all my attention on choosing a route to continue east and south. This B&B is a neat historic home that has been restored. Love the woodwork and unique house layout. The house is decorated in kind of Victorian theme with lots of dolls on display. The innkeeper was very nice, personable, and cooked us a delicious brunch complete with FRESH eggs from her two chickens. Her cinnamon raisin muffins were also delish.... More

I'm sure she treats everyone that way! The house is beautiful and old fashioned and decorated so tastefully. The breakfasts are great too, and the price is... More

My husband and I spent two days at the Old Brick Inn. From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed and at home. Joy showed us our room, pointed out the bathroom etc. and told us to let her know if we needed anything. Our room was comfortable and attractive, clean and neat, with a shared half... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This home was built, by Elisha W. Hartley, between 1886 and 1889 for his wife, Mamie Chrisman, great niece of the town's founding father, Mathias Chrisman. Architects who have stayed at the Inn have agreed that the structure is a "Prairie Foursquare," designed by the Chicago Architect Group which, included Frank Lloyd Wright. Large, oak-paneled foyer, art glass windows, staircase and abundance of oak artwork reflect the design of this period. As our guest, you may expect 21st-Century Conveniences with 19th-Century Elegance. ... more   less
