Had some fantastic workouts with Sam in the fitness Center last week. He is an amazing motivator and instructor really lit a fire in me to increase the intensity of my workouts. Sam I completed your second workout this morning and I’m buzzing after it. Can’t Thank you enough it really made my trip. Marie from Ireland
One of my daughters stayed for a long weekend to visit her college friends. Well, when they checked in, there were open bottles and a pizza in the fridge in their room. She went downstairs to complain and front desk did nothing. I called the hotel and have left three messages for them to call me…none have been returned. Not a good way to treat anyone..
All of the recent reviews are true: this is a terrific hotel in a great location. I stayed here for one night with my family (2 adults, 3 kids). Right after booking two rooms, I called and requested connecting rooms, and the front desk was able to confirm that immediately. When we arrived, check-in was quick and painless. The executive club serves a full breakfast buffet; when we were there, the buffet included eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, muffins, fruit, yogurt, etc. —and it was all very good. The rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable. The beds were wonderful; the Westin mattress was typically terrific, and the linens were very comfortable. The hotel staff were all welcoming and very friendly. My son cut his finger when we were checking out, and the concierge (Lisa) got a band-aid out of her purse and gave it to him. A small but telling example of how customer-oriented everyone here is. All told, this is a great hotel for a business or pleasure stay. I look forward to returning soon.…
I arrived and was able to check in early. The person at the desk even was able to look up my BonVoy number for me so I didn't have to dig it out of my email. The room itself was as I might have designed it. I had just been saying to my mother last week when staying somewhere else (less perfect) that in most hotels it seems like the people who run them do not stay in the rooms, but in this case it is clear that either they do or they just have a very good understanding of what people need to be comfortable. Specifically: -Two comforters, one light, one heavy, so that they accounted for warmer and cooler sleepers. -Different kinds of pillows (though they all looked alike) so that you have options. -Bed that I think would suit people who like hard or soft beds (I like softer and I wouldn't *buy* the mattress, but I was never uncomfortable). -Good water pressure and places to put your feet to shave your legs, and places to put your soap, etc. -Good lighting in the bathroom including a magnified makeup mirror. -Robe is actually *in the bathroom* where it belongs (who uses those otherwise?). -Super comfy couch/chaise like thing with *2* nested side tables so that you can have two people sit and put down drinks and be comfortable. Oh, and paper coasters! -Fridge in the room (PS I forgot my leftovers in there in room 707--sorry Westin!). -Ice bucket and ice machine. -Desk should you need it. -TV that is controllable with phone should you need it. -QUIET. I never heard anyone else--even in the hall. It would be nice if the coffee shop had better pastry, but there is a little place right across the street (Caffe Umbria) that had these pudding filled coronets and so maybe that isn't so important after all! Checkout was seamless. All staff very professional and pleasant. So thank you for a truly perfect stay!…
Cannot say enough about Sam, who works in the fitness center at the Westin. While we normally stay at the Westin when we come back to Chicago, we would return just because of him. He was more insightful and helpful with my sports injury than my ortho and PT combined. He was dead on diagnosing the issue, showed me specific stretches to do, Hypervolt massage gunned (percussion treatment) the affected area, and printed out exercises to do at home. He also spent time with Tom, who threw his back out the night we got here. If you’re looking for a place to stay, I’d recommend the Westin just to meet Sam. I told the front desk how impressed we were with him and they said people return just because of him.
This hotel is top notch on every level. Nice, corporate type room, decent restaurant, the most polished and helpful staff-all of them without exception was so welcoming. Only downside is that the air circulation within the rooms is poor and not controllable. Still-Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Excellent property for the value in the heart of Chicago. Great accessibility to many delicious restaurants and sights to see downtown. The room was clean, comfortable beds and nice sized bathroom. Staff was very friendly as we would come and go. They were busy decorating for Christmas and the effort was noticed—beautiful decorations! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
Very happy with my room. Bed was comfortable. Room was nicely appointed. My sanitizing wipe down of the room on arrival showed the room was clean. Staff was friendly. Easy access to an Italian coffee shop across the street. My only recommendations would be some basic room maintenance - a few things in the bathroom were starting to rust - and a better wine selection in the lobby bar. Overall good experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
When I go to a Marriott brand I expect Awesome… with this hotel that never happened! The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were down right flat. We ordered more pillows that we’re supposed to be foam but they weren’t. I loved Chicago and I dreaded coming back to my room because the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable. This is just an average hotel with the name “Westin” on it to make it seem great.
Check in: Paloma was very pleasant at check in and I was in touch with her to request a room with a tub via the chat prior to arriving which she duly did. Unfortunately no suite upgrades were available for ambassador status however it was awesome that the club lounge is open in the mornings. Room was very comfortable and the black out curtains super effective. Good location for where I needed to be and late check out was granted without issue.
