Stayed there for three nights in August. Superb staff, great welcome and a wonderful (slightly old fashioned) room. Such a change from the usual city hotels. Parking was very expensive, but that is Chicago! Super cocktails and a welcoming feel all round. It is not ultra-modern (if that is what you like) but it has a lovely feel to it....

Wonderful and Quaint Hotel, close to shoppes and restaurants. Great service and staff. Would definitively stay here again. Rooms are very nice and clean. Parking was easy. With in walking distance of many of the sites in the area.

Went for a night on the town. I was not aware it was 1 night before the shutdown for remodel. When checking in I made a casual remark about my wife and I celebrating our anniversary. After some small talk, the desk clerk announced, "In honor of your anniversary we are upgrading you to a one room suite" Fantastic! Large...

We stayed at the Talbott on New Years Eve and it was centrally located and exactly what we were hoping for! It was wonderful in every way - the doormen Dwayne and Charles were fabulous in dealing with a carload of cross country treasures. They went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting to secure our valuables from...

My husband and I spend two nights at the Talbott in Mid-December for our anniversary. He called ahead to order flowers for the room so the staff knew we were celebrating. They went out of our their way to make our stay special in every way, including upgrading our room. The whole staff was great, the lobby was cozy and...

We stayed here for my husbands 40th birthday this past weekend and it was incredible! We were a bit disappointed after learning the bar and food service were shut down due to the renovations, but the staff was quick to help and more than helpful when it came to accommodating our concerns. Perry was over the top awesome and went...

We recently stayed in this hotel while visiting Chicago. It is beautiful and well kept. It is to undergo major refurbishing starting 1/1/17. We were able to see one of the new rooms and, while very nice, we like the hardwood that covers much of the hotel as it is now. Either way, the staff was excellent. They are very...

Stayed here late Sept 2016. Bit of a stressful start where we left a bag in the taxi from the airport with passports and valuables. Concierge showed genuine concern and arranged cctv footage review, ran around the street checking cabs and doing everything they could. Luckily the driver returned about 10 mins later. Anyway check in was easy, all staff...

We stayed here for three nights with our teenage grandchildren for during a visit to Chicago. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and very quiet. However, we were dismayed to learn after arrival that the hotel had discontinued room service, mini-bar restocking, and the restaurant for the week between Christmas and New Year. You couldn't even get a bottle of...

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
