Really great hotel. Absolutely fantastic. In the centre of Chicago - not far away from shopping malls and great restaurants. Concierge was amazing. Was looking for various locations and needed other help other as well. So was great.

We loved the room, people and service at The Talbot. The location is close to Michigan Avenue and was walking distance to most things we wanted to see. We will definitely stay there again next trip to Chicago

Warm ,comfortable and inviting room. Staff was so friendly and willing to accommodate us in any way. Very professional. We requested more towels and they immediately brought them. The lobby bar is small but great place to stop and enjoy a cocktail with friends.

We stayed at the Talbott during the World Series playoffs in October. Not only is the location perfect, but the staff can't be beat. The doormen are the most warm and elegant in the city, a wonderful sendoff and welcome always. Moved to finally write this review because of Concierge Gene Murray, whom I called when I realized I forgot...

I agree with most of the other reviews - nice little lobby, great fireplace, and comfortable. I would give 5 stars to the customer service component, all of whom are visible throughout your stay. I suppose from one viewpoint, one could easily say there is a "European Elegance" to the hotel. To the couple that reads good reviews, and expects...

Thebullystopper, Thank you for your recent review of the Talbott Hotel. The Hotel is undergoing a top to bottom renovation and your comments regarding the rooms being "very old ... outdate[d] amenities" are well taken and very timely. We are fully renovating the rooms and can't wait to re-open in May. I truly appreciate your feedback about the 5 star...

We really liked this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The fireplace in the lobby is welcoming. Although we did not have any sort of view, our room was cozy and comfortable. A lot of people mention the slow elevator - hopefully this is something that might be addressed during the renovation that is going on right now....

Stayed for two nights and had a wonderful experience. It started off on the right foot when the doorman greeted us as we pulled up to the curb. He was an older gentleman who was warm, gracious, welcoming and sincere. The checkin was quick and efficient. We took a suite which was very large, clean and had everything we needed....

Stayed there for three nights in August. Superb staff, great welcome and a wonderful (slightly old fashioned) room. Such a change from the usual city hotels. Parking was very expensive, but that is Chicago! Super cocktails and a welcoming feel all round. It is not ultra-modern (if that is what you like) but it has a lovely feel to it....

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
