We have enjoyed several stays at the Drake over the last 20 years. They have always gone out of their way to make our stays memorable, whether it was for a business stay or a rewards night stay through Hilton Honors.

Though I stayed at The Drake while in town on business, I'd go back on a pleasure trip. The restaurants and bars on site were awesome, the lobby was graced with a beautiful floral arrangement, and the guest rooms were the largest I can recall for a big city hotel....AND the nightly rate was great.

I would seriously give zero stars if I could. This was a complete disaster. My parents booked my husband and I a room for our wedding night, and also paid an extra $250 so that we could order room service and champagne while we were there. My mom told me about this beforehand, so I asked about it when we...

This hotel was great! Rooms were very clean. Right on Magnificent Mile. We used the concierges many times and she was fabulous. Very knowledgeable about surrounding restaurants and attractions. Great!

You will love this location it's located right around the block from the mall and other popular stores and the magnificent mile. The hotel staff are welcoming and very accommodating. If you want to be walking distance from restaurants, shopping malls and interactive people this will fit you well.

This hotel is very old, well maintained, and on the National Historic Register. The location was perfect. We had a beautiful view of Lake Michigan and the Gold Coast. The Drake is at the top of Michigan Avenue which has ample shopping and takes you downtown. The heart of downtown and/or the Navy Pier would be about a mile to...

As I got dressed for an event I heard my neighbors love making moans and saw my bed follow their motion (I guess the beds are connected through the wall). The following evening, got reprimanded by the hotel security for holding a conversation with my husband at 10:30 pm. He claimed other guests were complaining. We were taking a bath...

Dear MEMiami2, Please accept my sincerest apologies with regards to the noise issues you experienced while staying with us at the Drake Chicago. I am sorry they disturbed you, and then we made you feel unwelcome with regards to the call from security. I do hope you choose to stay with us again, to take advantage of our great location,...

Coming from Rural Colorado, my wife and I wanted to spend a long weekend in Downtown Chicago, not far from where I grew up. Whenever in Chicago, we always try to stay at the Drake on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. It was another memorable trip and staying at the Drake was a treat again. Our accommodation was just right, and well...

Its old school, very much reminds me of the Palmer House but not as polished. Customer service is fantastic! We left a huge bag of Christmas presents in our room and did not realize it unitl we were out of the city....they called us and were so kind. The breakfast was lovely--great seating in the dining room. They showed Christmas...

I was treated to a belated birthday present of afternoon tea at this wonderful hotel. The hotel itself oozes glamour & all the staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend the afternoon tea as we were made to feel very special & the food was exquisite. Afterwards we had a tour of the hotel & looked at the photos in...

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
