Hotel is great and close enough to attractions, further from the loop but easy to get to if you're willing to walk & explore the city on foot, otherwise, the train can be accessed easily. We took the blue line to the red line from O'Hare followed by a brief 5-10 min walk, took about an hour total travel time to arrive at the hotel. Modern looking hotel, however rooms had some details that did not bother us, but may be deal breakers for some expecting more from this kind of hotel (water available at a cooler in the gym only, a/c wasn't super strong, but effective, older carpet in room, some squeeky spots on floor, our specific bathroom had a slight odor, but was maintained by keeping bathroom door shut) but it was a great place to stay just off the magnificent mile. I found a great price so it was definitely a nicer hotel for the rate we paid.

So glad we picked this hotel. From the moment we arrived and the bell boy greeted us by carrying our bags through to the day we left we had such a great experience. The location was spot on, very central. Loved the fact it was fully non smoking with no horrible lingering smells of smoking anywhere. It was impeccably clean. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. Highly recommend breakfast at Wildberry just two minutes walk away, we ended up eating there for the whole 5 days. Wish we could have tried the rooftop Drum bar but we ran out of time !

We’ve stayed at the Raffaello in late June. It’s a great location just 1 block from the lake- (2 minutes stroll). The bar (Drumbar)which is on the 18th floor is only open on Thursday and Friday. Room Since we were staying with our kids I booked a family room. The room was big with 2 double beds on the third floor. The air condition is a theme that runs through most reviews and I can vouch for this. We had to contact reception early on the first morning as the room was roasting. Maintenance called and changed the air filter. To be honest this didn't make a difference and when we were leaving I mentioned it to reception. The person apologised. Restaurant There is no restaurant in the hotel. A small coffee shop offers coffee and a few snacks. A voucher was left in our room for coffee but we didn't avail of it. 1 voucher would not have been enough for us either. Breakfast is not available which was a pity and a problem with kids. We went to a café nearby for the days we stayed. General impression The hotel needs to invest some money in upgrading the rooms. The impression of the hotel and the rooms is that it has not been invested in for quite a while. The staff were helpful. The most interaction I had was with Alex the doorman. He was brilliant-suggested where to eat, how to get to places, what to see and do! He would make a good tour guide! As a first impression of the hotel he goes above and beyond his duties. I would highly recommend him. He asked us how we were getting to the airport when leaving and helped organising a private cab for us. You must use your card to operate the lifts.

I am so happy to hear your comments about Alex; he truly is a shining star in a constellation of many! The Pelago restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and the cafe does offer breakfast items as well. Drumbar is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I hope you got to experience it. Its truly amazing, ranked one of the best rooftop bars in Chicago. During your next visit to Chicago, we invite you to settle in with us again as there is so much more to explore. Come back soon! We’ve stayed at the Raffaello many times. It’s a great location with a great bar and a wonderful restaurant next door. This hotel group needs to invest some money in upgrading the rooms. The carpet is worn and furniture is generally showing its age. The staff is always helpful and you usually can get a good deal which keeps us coming back.

Rooms are big, lobby is small. Air flow varies from room to room, we had to change rooms as our first suite we had wouldn’t blow cold. Staff is very nice. Hotel has its original charm and decor. Elevator is old and slow , does take time if hotel is busy. Perfect location right off magnificent mile. Enjoyed a girls weekend here and not hear anyone in rooms around us. Great privacy. Smaller older hotel with great charm and big rooms. Will come again.
