This is a beautiful hotel, older and classic, but fully renovated up to modern standards. With rooms set back like alcoves off of the lobby, and the original marble features brightening up the dark modern appointments of the renovation, the hotel feels immediately classy and sexy at the same time. The staff were excellent! Shout out to Raven at the front desk, who was so welcoming, and with such a warm smile, that I immediately forgot the cold Chicago night outside. The gorgeous and funny women closing down the restaurant and bar were very gracious as they took my order at the cusp of 10pm; and hilarious to hang out with while the kitchen prepared my food. They gave me a pushkas filled with melted dark chocolate, and dusted with powdered sugar, and laughed as I butchered the word - which in Russian means “voluptuous”. The suite I was in was amazing; spacious and modern, with a spectacular view of Chicago on all sides. The bed was soft, and the sheets were nice. All in all, this may be my new Chicago hotel.…

The management and front desk staff are phenomenal!! SAM, KENZIE, RACHEL and BRANDON made our stay well worth our while! They are Top Notch Professionals and the way they handled business was on point. THEY WERE DOPE! When I go back to Chicago I am staying here again. The rooms were modern roomy and had an art deco/upscale look and feel to them. The breakfast was perfection even though the price for that breakfast was a little out of control smh. We were far enough away from the main roads where it wasn't too busy and noisy but close enough to enjoy everything Chicago had to offer.

Great Gold Coast location. Few blocks walk to Chipotle, Lou Malnati's, Velvet Taco. Special shout out Shawn at the front desk. Very professional and extremely helpful while we checked in. We had a corner King. Rooms are spacious and the towels and linens are nice and soft. Very comfortable king beds

Hoai was so helpful! She assisted me with a slight issue I had and provided amazing customer service. When I found I needed a later check out, Hoai and her colleague were very helpful. This was my first stay here and, based on the superior level of customer service I received, I will be back again very soon.

Check-in: we’re warm welcomed by Hoai - front desk at thanksgiving night, she is very helpful and got us a nice room for our vacation. Check-out: I forgot my contacts at the room when we checked out and didn’t realize it until I arrived home. Housekeeping staffs found and kept them for me, I can’t be more satisfied about this hotel. Location: close to magnificent miles, there are several groceries around. Safe and convenient. Definitely a perfect choice if you want to spend several days in Chicago.

A great hotel, wonderful lobby area and rooms. The lobby is cosy, esp the lounge with fire place and sofas. Love the hint of 20s vibe. As mentioned the area is nice; beautiful streets, quieter than many other places in Chicago. Reg. the room: I particularly appreciated having a bathtub. If anything: I didn’t afford eating at the hotel in which I’d wanted to. So it’s expensive livening there, but that comes for Chicago in general. All in all I’d for sure consider staying here again. A gem!

Upon arrival, we could not have felt more welcome than we did by Wayne. He was so friendly & made us instantly feel like we were amongst friends. Raven & Brandon were equally as friendly & helped facilitate our many room reservations. They made the process fun & enjoyable & we couldn’t be happier to be staying at the Ambassador! I was a globalist and the breakfast here was amazing. The room given was beautiful as well. I extremely loved the amenities that were given and the lobby was extremely aesthetic. I would definitely come and stay again.

Area is walkable to the beach, magnificent mile, L-train to the airport or United Center. Close to shops, restaurants and area felt +++safe. Beautiful neighborhood location. Staff were inviting and helpful- while rooms could use minor refurbishment, the beds were very comfortable and the shower had amazing water pressure. Would stay here again!

Back in the eighties when I lived in Chicago, I once saw Frank Sinatra coming out of the hotel surrounded by news cameras and newspaper photographers. It's where all the old Hollywood stars stayed when they visited the city. The bones of the hotel are great and Hyatt left some of the soul and didn't make it too homogenous. You can't beat the neighborhood for walking, great amenities and restaurants and public transportation is at your footsteps. They need to update a few things in the rooms but it is a comfortable stay and very graciously priced. I did not experience food service. They could have electric kettles and cups in the room at the very least, that would be a nice upgrade. Ask for a room with good light and views.
