I had such a pleasant experience at this hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful. My room was so beautiful, clean, well decorated, updated and nice. This location was perfect and within walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping. I felt very safe here. I felt the price was reasonable for the area. I will definitely be staying here for my next visit to Chicago!
The Ambassador is the perfect hotel for both leisure and business travel. Service, Rooms, and the FOOD are all top notch. Also in a great area (historic gold coast). I've stayed here multiple times and cannot see myself staying anywhere else in Chicago
Ambassador Chicago is a wonderful hotel in an amazing part of Chicago. It is right in the middle of the city that's within walking distance from the beautiful Lincoln Park and is within a 15 minute drive to nearly anywhere else in the city
The lobby and such are nice. While the rooms were updated , you could still tell that the rooms were old and the walls had bad spackle jobs. The TV and bed etc. were updated which was nice. Unfortunately my room had a musty smell and because I couldn’t open the window I only got recycled air from the air conditioning which was a little gross. This is definitely the case of an old lady that was probably grand and is just aging in okay condition. The rooms were also pretty small at only 180 ft.² which for the price was a little bit lame.
The entire staff went out of their way to be accommodating and were always friendly! The restaurant and bar was great with an outstanding staff. The area was a great place to take an evening stroll, was convenient to the heart of Downtown and other areas we visited. We'd definitely stay again!
Evie cleaning person was great, nice room, great location, great staff Price daily was ok sometime a little on high side but due to events but mgmt tried to accommodate, great for dogs would recommend
From the moment we met the valet it was a great experience. Jasmine and Kenzie were spectacular checking us in and out. The Ambassador is beautiful hotel built in 1926. Everyone was friendly and great at their jobs. The room was a queen. It had a living then a separate bedroom with a Walkin closet. The bathroom was huge also. My wife loved that it had separate air conditioning for each room. It was my wife's birthday, and they went above and beyond giving her a complimentary breakfast. When we checked out, they were just as wonderful as when we arrive.
I was in town for business and booked the Ambassador. So happy I did. The overall experience was amazing - easy check-in, beautiful lobby/restaurants, the most friendly staff, and it had a very clean room. Location was also a big plus! I would stay there again the next time I'm in town!
Beautiful old charm hotel with modern updates and amenities. Lovely neighborhood and close walking distance to the lake front Oak Street, Lincoln Park and downtown. The lobby was comfortable, the staff were very friendly amd although I didn't eat at the restaurant, it was well attended.
Stayed in the queen room. Nice comfy bed and linens. Dated bathroom with no ventilation. Poor soundproofing. Front desk and restaurant service were exceptional. Valet parking appeared to lose the keys of the people ahead of us and then tried to physically pull me out of my car to look for them — truly a bizarre and uncomfortable experience. Night Valet was a little rough putting the car in park and rolled his eyes when I asked for assistance. Day valet was great and friendly. Bathtub wouldn’t drain and one of the towel hooks fell out of the wall — seemed like a hasty flip of a renovation. Location is great and close to tourism and restaurants. Very walkable neighborhood. Good price.
