The location is great as its a short walk to Lakeshore Dr and the staff is wonderful. The hotel could use some cosmetic updates, but overall I would stay again. I have no real complaints about my stay.
First time at the Ambassador. Had a great experience. A quiet location, yet only 3-4 blocks from lots of restaurants in the Rush Street/State Street area. Room was very nice, housekeeping and lobby staff very friendly and efficient. Lobby area small, but very nicely furnished with a number of comfortable chairs and sofas. Only drawback - just two elevators, had to wait several minutes on a couple of occasions. Highly recommended.
The lobby is welcoming, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Wish the bar and restaurant were livelier. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. Wish the rooftop were open to regular guests, not just for private booking. Overall, I would stay again, the location is perfect!
Hyatt never disappoints, but the staff at this location went above and beyond. I couldn't be happier with the way my family was treated. The location of the hotel was good, in a quiet neighborhood type setting. The room was olde
The hotel has a excellent location. I have stayed here before and was disappointed by my room and the cleanliness. The staff were very nice. The food in the restaurant was great. The check in and out process was easy and went well!
As always, we had a wonderful stay at the Ambassador. Such a beautiful hotel in the best location! The beds are super comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful and kind! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting Chicago!
I was in Chicago for both business and personal reasons. I was very impressed with my overall experience: the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and beautiful. I look forward to staying at the Ambassador again!
What a fabulous, restored vintage hotel in the best neighborhood in Chicago. Lobby, restaurant and rooms are beautiful. All the staff are friendly, professional and helpful -- from the restaurant to doormen, bellman, security and front desk. We hope to return soon.
I really love staying there and putting my family up when they come in town! The location is awesome - right in the heart of Gold Coast (next to the lake). The rooms are clean and service is always friendly. We will be back and so will our families.
I got a very decent room rate for this current day and age where travel is becoming crazy expensive - $179 a night. For globalist status I was upgraded to a suite which was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was fine for me on my own but I can see how it might be a little low on space for more than one person especially in terms of counter space. The room had been nicely decorated with lots of white furnishings. The bathtub was really the only area that seemed to be still a bit old. The room was relatively quiet despite being fairly close to the elevators with the exception of being placed next to the ice machine area - it was quite loud at times. Bed was comfortable - others have commented that it was fairly low which I would agree with but I don't think that affected my quality of sleep. Good blackout blinds were helpful for sleep quality too. The service at breakfast was wildly inconsistent. I can't really complain because it's free for Globalists (thank you!) but I think the hotel ought to know this feedback because the pricing is quite steep and if the service is bad on top of expensive, paying customers are probably going to be quite dissatisfied. If the hotel would like further details on the areas for improvement and let downs, I'd be happy to provide specific information. The food quality was consistently decent and I particularly enjoyed the french toast. I had problems with one of my air conditioning units continuing to turn on even when I had turned it off and was cold. The front desk was very amenable about helping me and the engineering team arrived promptly, were attentive and friendly. The front desk was consistently sweet to deal with and one of the best factors of staying at the hotel. Destination fee was removed for globalist status upon checkout proactively by the front desk and without issue. I would definitely return to and recommend the hotel.…
