Immaculate, spacious rooms. Great workout and pool facilities with plenty of available hours. Friendly and helpful staff! Unique dining onsite at the Michael Jordan bar. Great location. Downtown attractions and shopping are all within easy walking distance.
The Intercontinental never fails. Service, as always, was impeccable from the front desk to housekeeping. An easy walk to the Navy Pier, great Chicago restaurants and, of course, shopping. We will find it difficult to stay anywhere else in Chicago.
Can't say enough about this hotel. Room was clean, spacious, well stocked, everything I expected. The hotel is old so it has so much character in it's interior and construction but completed updated without losing any of it's character. The fitness center and pool was really something special. The restaurant was outstanding. The entire staff were helpful, friendly and professional. You get what you pay for!
We enjoyed our 3 nights here in Chicago! We got off to a rocky start because we had booked a premier city view room, but that wasn’t what we were assigned l. Our amazing bellman Keenan, went to bat for us and we were given another room which was great! Maid service was by request, but probably because we had changed rooms, that was never communicated. However, with a phone call, clean towels were delivered to the room.
I was in town for a business conference. All hotels were sold out, I was a little nervous BUT I loved the view, the location, and the staff were simply awesome....The bathroom was a little awkward with the door hitting the wall...
Intercontinental Magnificent Mile is in a great location. There are so many attractions at walking distance including highly rated restaurants. Rooms are of decent size for this location and clean. Overnight parking is expensive at $75. The hotel scores low for it's front desk service. Chavela at the front desk lacked professionalism to respectfully treat guests at a high end hotel like this. Suggest better training for the front desk staff.
For a decent hotel in a convenient location, this is a good value. The rooms are a bit on the small size and the furniture is dated, as is the decor of the entire hotel. It is noteworthy that there is not a single place to sit in the lobby. I guess they do not want people sitting around people watching. They have good bellman service and a plesant atmosphere, but generally it is past its due date for renovation.
Nice rooms and attentive staff. The Pool is amazing and can't be missed. There is a conveniently-located Starbucks next to the Lobby. The breakfast was awesome...healthy and varied...attentive and nice team running that too.
We had some flight credits to use and decided on a trip Chicago. We chose the Intercontinental because of the location and we have stayed there in the past. Our experience there has always been superb.
Always was attracted and re-attracted to this hotel, primarily because of its historic structure and location. I've loved the Streeterville district for decades. Service was as great as that of the previous stay (May 2010), and hotel-registration personnel were very accommodating without being "overbearingly" patronizing. The only negative was the lav basin drain, which was slow to discharge. Perhaps pro-active and periodic cleaning of the P-traps be considered. Additionally, for what is charged for a night's stay, more than one ice machine should be available, rather than for a client to have to travel to the 7th floor (from the 25th, as in my case) to retrieve ice.
