InterContinental Chicago is a lot like the city itself: historic but hip, refined but relaxed, cultured but comfortable. A member of Michigan Avenue's architectural elite since 1929, our hotel is within easy reach of Chicago's incomparable museums, stores, theatres and restaurants. Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium and Oak Street Beach are minutes away.

I want to first off say that Chicago is a great city!! This is our second time back within 2 1/2 months .. we stayed at the InterContinental right on Mag Mile and it was great . The location was everything, easy to get to and from rather walking or uber to the museums, water tower, navy pier , shopping , restaurants etc... we had a blast , a lot of activities in the parks, summer music jams at millennium park , the pier and every where we went there were kick offs for summer festivals. We had a bit of wait doing our checkin ,do to a lot of weddings were taking place in the hotel. our room was a little tight and had asked to be change , which I was assured by the front desk agent that we would be moved in the morning and it never happened. The amenities were standard, we did have a view of mag mile which was great , housekeeping was great and very attentive when called. the bell hops ALL were very informative and attentive to us. Hotel overall was okay , great location in the center of the mag mile which we loved. just steps from water, both the Navy Pier and the river walk. only hiccup I have really is not about the hotel but Chicago in all ; is the commute from ORD to downtown is crazy.. We have always taken an Uber , and the traffic is almost as bad as NYC.. to sum this trip up Great hotel, great location, service was fine ..

Stayed here while my husband and I went to see a show. It was truly amazing. Large spacious room, great house keeping and room service. Everyone was great. Will be staying here again in August for a conference.

It took me months to plan a long weekend in Chicago to surprise my husband for our anniversary. Even though we do not live far, we never find the time to venture the city. So, Michael Jordan being one of my husband's absolute favorites, I booked the Table 23 experience at his steakhouse located inside the Intercontinental. Because of this I decided to book us a room for the night. I wish I would've saved the $400 and drove home instead. The room was small, the bathroom even smaller. Which is honestly ok as it was decorated nicely. Check-in was easy and the gentleman very nice. But that's where it ends. The shower didn't drain so after a few mintues of showering you had several inches of water in the tub. The sink drained very very slowly. I just found it gross. If you touched anything in the mini bar or snack bar for over 30 seconds you automatically get charged. Thank goodness the bell man warned us! After dinner we were just wanted to relax a bit and watch TV. Surprise, that didn't work. I called the front desk and they did have someone there to fix it rather quickly. Worst part of the entire stay- the mini fridge has a small 4x4 section for "personal use". Not sure what you'd fit there. Everything else falls under the move it for 30 seconds and you'll be charged rule. My husband and I spent $400 on the Table 23 experience, which has a TON of food provided. Guess where half of my $400 dinner went? In the garbage because I had no where to put it over night. I'm beyond upset about this. We even went to the front desk to ask for them to remove the mini fridge offerings and they would not. But, for another fee they would bring us another fridge. At that point I was not giving this hotel anymore of my money. I would highly recommend looking for another hotel nearby. I wish I had!

Wonderful hotel in the perfect location with easy access to all things Chicago. The rooms are not gigantic, but no Chicago hotel room is. They are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Room service was hot and on time. The room windows include black out shades which is ideal in a city that never sleeps. There's a great Starbucks right off the lobby, too. Cabs are out front ready to go. What's not to like?

I was recently at the InterContinental Hotel for Business and had the pleasure of staying at the intercontinental. My Company has a client in Chicago that will be hosting their annual Gala at the property. I have planned a lot of events but have never had such an easy time working with the Catering Sales office or the Chef. Anita Paljatek is an absolute pleasure. We choose this property because of her and she has not disappointed through the whole process. This trip was no exception. She went out of her way with Rob the Chef the provide an incredible tasting for the client and the food left absolutely nothing to be desired. I used to work for Disney, thought their properties in Orlando and because of that I have an expectation for service that is beyond normal and exceptionally picky. There was not one employee in this hotel that was a disappointment. They all have a certain pride and ownership of the property that you can immediately see and recognize without even speaking to them. It gives the guest a feeling of being at home and I think that they all need to be commended on a job well done. I would especially like to thank the bell staff, especially Kibrom, Will and Hussien for going out of their way on a daily basis for us. Also housekeeping who not only kept our room clean daily, but left extra water and towels everyday because they were asked once. I was very sick one night and Melvita actually came to the room, brought me Ginger Ale and cleaned it at 11:40 at night - something that was well above and beyond her duties. I don't know the waiters name in the center court area - but everyday they were friendly and served breakfast with a smile that is often very lost at other properties. I won't just recommend this hotel for its location, its pretty and spacious rooms or its lovely pool. While I wholeheartedly believe those things are exceptional especially in a city hotel - it is 100% their staff that makes this property 5 star.
