I was fairly impressed by the Hyatt Regency at McCormick Place. We chose it because it was attached to the convention center. The rates were actually very reasonable. The rooms were decorated nicely and had several amenities. There were TV connection ports which allowed you to easily plug in nearly any device. There was also a "cooler" which kept items...

Spacious clean rooms. Comfortable beds and pillows. Staff courteous. Location does not have a lot of choices with nearby restaurants. Hotel restaurants are good. Bring earplugs if you have to stay here. Noisiest pipes in the walls ever! Anytime anyone uses the water it sounds like there's a drill in the wall. Easy access to convention center. Refrigerator is technically...

We were there for the tournament at the convention center. Can't stay anywhere better! You don't even need to go outside and January in Chicago- that's important! The hotel staff were great! I had an upgrade for a room and we ended up on the top floor with a suite! The view was incredible! The staff was kind and helpful...

Thanks to the knowledgeable, helpful sales staff of Angela and Joseph, our large group was extremely happy with our stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The fact that these "southern hothouse plants" didn't have to walk outside to get to the volleyball venue and experience the Chicago January weather was a huge blessing and appreciated by all players,...

We stayed at this hotel for a volleyball tournament. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very courteous and helpful. We love that the hotel is connected to McCormick Place, especially in January. The hotel provided a ballroom for the teams to use for dinners and just to have a place for the boys to hang out together....

Hyatt does a great job with large groups of visitors utilizing McCormack a Place; our teams were checked in efficiently. The spacious hotel provides lots of room for all players & parents to gather between sessions.

Went to the Hyatt McCormick place for volleyball tournament and the location was great. All events have indoor access which is a must for Chicago in January. Parking in the A lot can be charged to the room and a good option if the hotel lot is full. Bar was good to watch NFL playoff games as well.

Hotel is fine, it's directly connected to the convention center. Feels a little dated but not too bad. I didn't like the fact that the window hinges were very dusty, I don't think they were dusted for years. Open buffet breakfast was good but pricey. The layout of the towers is a little funky but manageable.

Neighborhood Profile
South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.
