Classic meets cool as Hilton Chicago embarks upon a $150 million renovation in celebration of our 85th birthday. The fresh, new vibe inspired by traditional, design rich elements pulls its inspiration from the hotel’s original architecture and intertwines a dynamic and contemporary spin. With the renovation underway, the hotel has already introduced over 400 new guest rooms, 13 new hospitality suites, a new technologically versatile Grab & Go – SNAX and a new restaurant with private dining space and bar – 720 South Bar & Grill. The new contemporary guestrooms have been cultivated with ornamental lacquer finishes, soft leather and rich, bronze wood detailing accented by a cool color palette of velvet and silk textured accents. Guestroom media capabilities include a 37 inch flat screen television, in room touch concierge panel, HCN Navigator computer and wireless and wired internet access. Following a day exploring Chicago, decompress at the largest Chicago hotel athletic club with running track, take a dip in our indoor pool facility or catch some rays on our sundeck during the spring and summer months.Located on Michigan Avenue in the South Loop, the Hilton Chicago is 1.6 miles to McCormick Place, along the Shuttle Route to McCormick Place and the first stop on the returning route from the convention center. Directly across the street from Grant Park and walking distance to Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, Lake Michigan, Buddy Guy’s Legends, South Loop dining and art galleries, Museum of Contemporary Photography, The “Loop” – Chicago’s Financial district, State Street Shopping, Soldier Field as well as two short “L” stops to Chinatown.

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

We have stayed at the Hilton many times. It is an older hotel with great history in Chicago. It seems as if the management is working hard to keep this hotel top notch. Prior missteps did not occur this trip. We obtained 3 rooms all online check in and all close together on t

I can choose to depart out of either O'Hare or Midway on a Sunday afternoon. The hotel looks closer to Midway. Any pros or cons on transportation choice between these? I'm thinking of time, availability of transit (do you have to change trains to get to Midway?), cost of cab or Lyft?
Ohare Lyft is only $40. The airport is super easy to navigate. I would do this option instead of train with bags.

I have been researching for restaurants near the Chicago Hilton. There seems to be many, what do you recommend? I love all types of food, so there is no wrong answers. LOL, thank you ahead of time.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your inquiry. We have some great options for you, but it really depends on what you are looking for. On property we have a great quick service restaurant called Herb n’ Kitchen with premade sandwiches, salads, health foods and Starbucks coffee. We also have a fantastic Irish Pub known for its draught beers, brunch and largest Irish Whiskey library in the city. Lastly we have 720 South Bar which is focused on burgers, small plates, American food and a great bourbon list. Off property we have great restaurants such as Mercat a La Planxa a tapas style Spanish restaurant, for sushi or ramen we have Umai, there is also some great Chicago style pizzeria’s walking distance from the hotel: Aurelio’s, Giordano’s and Lou Malnati’s. For additional restaurant recommendations, please feel free to contact our Concierge Desk at 312-922-4400 ext. 4151 and they will be happy to assist you with your dining needs.
