We visited for 6 nights during the last week of April 2022. This is a very large hotel and had a conference going on during this week, so it was busy with visitors. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel clerk gave us a free upgrade with a separate bed, bathroom - which was most appreciated. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. When I requested coffee and soap for our room, they responded and delivered these items to us within a half hour. The BEST THINGS about this hotel were: 1. the convenience to the museums and activities that we came to see. It was an easy walk to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Skydeck, Art Institute, Millennium Park, Riverboat tours, good restaurants, etc. And, there was a bus stop right outside at Balbo and Michigan Streets, so you can hop on a CTA bus to go anywhere, including the museum of science and industry. 2. The hotel had one of the best hotel gyms that I have ever seen with a complete line of modern exercise equipment - and there was even a track to jog around. The gym is located on the 8th floor. This was appreciated as the hotel became busy during the work week. 3. The food options. On the lobby floor, there was Kitty O'Sheas restaurant that we ate at during our first night and day. The food was good and prices reasonable. However, when the hotel got busy, we just ate at the Herb Kitchen, which offers grab and go/take out meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate here for most of our meals because we were often too tired to go out, it was convenient, the food was good and the prices were less expensive. 4. The hotel has a fascinating history to it. Many movie and TV shows have been filmed, at least in part, inside this hotel and the architecture of the hotel is stunning. 5. As I noted earlier, the hotel staff was great, professional and very helpful during our stay. 6. The hotel mattresses were outstanding and really helped us get a good nights sleep. To me, this was important since I sometimes have back pain. The only negative issues about this hotel are: It was a little noisy with sirens and cars honking down on the street. Fortunately, we were up on the 21st floor, so it wasn't too bad. Also, the room was a little stuffy and it took awhile for the room to cool down - this wasn't a problem for me, but it could be to someone else. Also, parking was expensive - I believe it was $65/night, but I've found this price to be similar in many larger city hotels and we had this included in our stay. Finally, there was construction outside the front entrance, which to me wasn't a problem, because we exited out the side, but some visitors may not be happy about it. Also, we were offered a room facing Lake Michigan, but it would have cost $34/night more, plus taxes, so we declined. Overall, we were very pleased with our hotel stay and we would stay here again if we visit Chicago in the future.

Hotel's Favorite
This was our first trip since Covid. The hotel just reopened recently. Even though it was July 4th it was not fully booked. The hotel is not fully staffed yet but you would never know. Every single person we encountered was friendly, helpful, and nice. The hotel and our rooms were very clean. Due to Covid, you schedule when you want housekeeping to come. You also make reservations to use the pool for a two hour time slot. It was so nice cause the pool was not crowded and you actually got to enjoy your time in the pool. Housekeeping would do a wonderful job. We loved the room. We had a lake view room. Our room had two full bathrooms, one had a shower and the other had a tub/shower combo. It was awesome. We didn’t have to share with our teens and two people could get ready at once. The rooms are very spacious for a city hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The location is right on Michigan Ave down the street from Millenium Park. Everything was walkable. The restaurants are opening up again. We didn’t have a car and it was ok. We will definitely stay here again. We loved it.

The Hilton Chicago is a perfect mix of old and new! The stunning entry hall keeps with the history of the building while the rooms are modern and comfortable. Jennifer and Darnella who work in the fitness center and pool area were so kind, welcoming and overall just amazing! We can’t wait to be back in town to stay at the Hilton and explore more of the city!

The hotel overall is beautiful and the staff were courteous, very polite. We were there for 3 nights and had THE WORST experience with our room: it was dirty, very dusty, our TV stand had coffee stains, there was an old soda bottle in our fridge, an old dirty comb left behind, the bed sheets smelled, were discolored, stained and ripped, lamps were stained, full of dust and some topped with dead bugs (I’m tall and certain things I can’t miss .. Eww) We had a 2 bathrooms room but one of the showers was clogged so back to only one fully functional bathroom 🙄 The phone was stained, dirty, and not working. I mean ZERO pride and effort in having presentable and especially clean rooms. I have allergies to dust and dander so I was sick the entire time and consumed so much Benadryl. I Lysol wiped down all the dusty hard surfaces, but it wasn’t a fair battle with the dusty sofa/chair and carpet.

Nice property. First time in Chicago and wanted to be near Grant Park. Unfortunately, we did not feel safe walking around the area. We heard that the city has a crime issue, but felt the presence especially when we took the train which was reasonable.

THANK YOU!!! From the bottom of my heart for being so amazing and welcoming our girls to stay at your hotel last minute after they were treated terribly at another hotel (Raddison - Schaumburg) The girls were very grateful to be able to stay so close to their concert’s location and were thrilled with the ease of check in and the beauty of the room they were given. You saved the day!!!! Thank you for being kind and wonderful. I will always recommend the Hilton. ❤️

The building is nothing short of spectacular. While it could do with a fair amount of updating, this was made up for by the location and architecture. The staff were very helpful. Surprisingly, catering services were rather limited, with a couple of restaurants but no breakfast or in-room dining service.

We stayed at the Hilton S Michigan for 4 nights. The staff was friendly and the overall facility is clean. I’d say the Rockstar of this property is Oscar in the fitness center on the 8th floor. In the current world of accepted subpar customer service Oscar was a breath of fresh air. He went above and beyond to ensure our time at the pool and fitness facility was awesome! Personally, I’d clone Oscar and just put him at all points if customer contact!!! Keep up the GREAT work and thank you

I traveled with my husband for a conference that was taking place at the Hilton Chicago. When we arrived we noticed that construction was taking place on Michigan Street, so the main entrance to the hotel was closed. That closure partially blocked the windows of the only restaurant open, the Kitty O'Shea, which was really a tavern. We arrived early and were grateful that they could let us check in early. We were paying extra for a lake view, and were put in a room on the 21st floor. It would have been a beautiful view except for the fact that a huge television completely obscured one window, so we could only see the view from one window. The room is fairly bland, as I expected from a Hilton conference hotel. It had the requisite non-luxury non-cotton sheets and towels offered by Hilton. Positives: 1. The location was good for walking near the lake. 2. They let us check in early. Negatives: 1. The hotel had one tavern/restaurant to serve thousands of people from various conferences. There was a take out place that served pretty bad food at premium prices. There are few decent places nearby to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. 2. The thermostat in the room did not work, so it was either too cold or too warm. 3. Housekeeping was only available with a 24 hour advance appointment. We reserved, but no one showed up. The housekeeping manager offered to send someone up when we called, necessitating that we vacate the room for more time. The housekeeper told me she did not keep the appointment because the "do not disturb" tag was on the door. No, it wasn't! It was on the floor, where I left it. 4. It costs $15 to use the fitness center. Yes, really! 5. The television remote did not work well, and there were very few good channels anyway. 6. On check-out my husband found that the hotel had overcharged for the "view" room, and the person he spoke to said, "we'll have to figure out what happened" before they would correct the bill. How about: Yes, sir, I apologize ! We'll fix that right away! We had another 4 days to spend in Chicago, a great place to be during Chicago Restaurant Week. We stayed in a lovely hotel in the center of everything.

Stayed at the Hilton Chicago while doing a college tour with my daughter and mother. It is a beautiful hotel. The staff deserve ten stars for customer service. For example...I called down to ask for more coffee and creamers. Debbie (who was super sweet) called back in fifteen minutes to make sure I got it. Every staff member we encountered was VERY friendly and professional. On the down side, we had reserved a room with two queens and ended up in a room with two doubles. We had quite a few bags so I didn't feel like moving. But, it was a rough night. It was so rough that we were up before the sun and got to watch the sun rise over the lake. It was spectacular. So at least there was a silver lining. Also, a strip plug next to the beds would be nice.
