Nicely refurbished older hotel, funky decor in lobby and comfortable rooms. Only downside was the shower, weak water flow and hard to control the temperature. Easy parking in nearby ramp, $20 for 72 hours but no in/out allowed. Amazing donut and coffee shop next door and Trader Joe's across the street, lots of restaurants nearby as well.

I used to stay here for one reason, and one reason only – location. While it’s not the fault of the hotel, the East Lakeview neighborhood is on a serious downward spiral that started well before the pandemic. Even the two-story Walgreen’s has been shuttered and the entryway transformed into a homeless encampment. Around the corner, Bed Bath and Beyond is closing their location and many of the small shops and restaurants are doing likewise. Although this hotel is co-branded as a Days Inn, they violate company policy by no longer offering a free breakfast. Instead you get a coupon valid for one glazed donut, but only if you buy a drink! And the hotel has posted signs advising guests to wait for the “next elevator” if it’s already occupied. Problem is, there is no “next elevator.” Despite being a 4 story building with well over 100 rooms, there is only one small elevator that is in constant use. There is certainly charm about an older building, but the lack of investment in infrastructure doesn’t make for an enjoyable stay. Not sure I would stay here again.

Thank you first of all for choosing to stay with us and for being a "regular" guest. You were already acquainted with our building and the elevator, most likely the stairwell too, so yes we do have that vintage charm. We are very sorry to see that you feel the neighborhood has gone downhill. We see it as a vibrant, fun Chicago neighborhood that is going through a temporary tough period in history and will continue on when this all passes. There are already new builds coming to the area that we are looking forward to. So it is just a matter of time. Sorry to see that you may not stay again. Thanks for sharing your concerns. Best wishes.

Our final bill for two nights was $249.00 but my bank was hit with a $312.00 charge. We didnt use the bottle water but did use the coffee there in our room. Four one-cup coffee pods for $62.00?? Maybe they charged for the towels we asked for the next day?? We wont be back. Poor business.

Thank you Tim for choosing to stay with us here at the Hotel Versey. The initial $312. is an authorization for room and tax and potential incidentals. When you checked out you see the other amount for room and tax. You mentioned no incidentals so that would be the final bill and anything over would be released back to your card. If you have any questions or need anything explained further please don't hesitate to give us a call. Thanks again.

This hotel was in a perfect location for a Lincoln Park wedding. The rooms are certainly clean, but nothing special. At first I was disappointed that we faced the alley but the members in our party who faced the street complained of the street noise. I wish they had put a bigger warning that a bottle of Fiji water was $5 and we had a refrigerator. The other exterior rooms were much larger and did include refrigerators. I’d stay again though for the price and location.

I absolutely loved my two stays at Hotel Versey. The location could not be better considering downtown is close and the airport is a quick Uber or bus/subway ride away. The hotel is iconic in Boystown and offers all of the amenities you need to recharge, recoup, and get ready for your day. The wireless internet is fast and free. The rooms are perfectly plush with outlets to charge your electronics near your bed. I was absolutely pleased with the abundance of television stations as well, especially during the time when I just want to relax. The rooms are trendy with special touches. I can't explain it in words. It is very cool here. A huge plus is gym access next door at LA Fitness. It beats a small hotel gym. It was an absolutely amazing perk! The staff are really courteous and help you choose a room to your liking. Overall, I can't wait for my next stay when I am in Chicago. I work in Chicago about 10 times a year and Hotel Versey definitely got me hooked!
