Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.

The accessible room was small but I was told that it’s one of the biggest rooms available in the hotel. Only have about 2 feet of space around 2 sides of bed and third side has about 4 feet. Screws holding ramped threshold at entrance to bathroom are not flush so can catch on feet and socks. The toilet is one of the highest I have seen. That’s the best feature of this room. Bathroom is very small. Walk in shower is good but no seat. I used my walker. Shower head leaked when off. Needs fixing. Bed at good height and comfortable. Rooms need updating. They’re dark and dated. Bathroom needs updating and refreshing. The lobby of hotel is very nice and a great place to hang out. Unlike the rooms, it’s big, bright and comfortable. Lobby bar is unassuming and nice. Location is just off Michigan Ave, in the heart one of the nicest areas of Chicago. Walking distance to most everything depending how much you want to walk. Easy access to public transportation.

The hotel seemed to be almost at full capacity this past weekend, and while the room was clean enough it seemed dingy and small. Great place to stay if you're not planning on spending much time at the hotel. The housekeeping staff was great (very kind and sweet), however, it was strange that they knocked on the door in the morning to offer extra towels, etc, though they were likely seeing if they could clean the room yet, so keep your privacy sign on the door if you want to sleep in, though the walls were thin. Great location and value though!

I was overall disappointed with my stay at the Inn of Chicago. We had the choice to stay here or the Hampton Inn near by for the same price, and I regret my choice to try something local in staying here. When we arrived at the lobby there were already two disgruntled guests trying to check in that gave a negative vibe. When we got to the room, I was not impressed. I have stayed at a Super 8 that looks better than this. One of the outlets did not even work and the bed was far from comfortable. The thermostat looked in pieces and the underside was hanging off. The rooms are in desperate need of a repair. There was mold in the shower handle which is unacceptable. When we returned to the room later that evening, there was a man sleeping on the couch by the elevators. This kind of behavior was unexpected and did not fit the criteria that was portrayed on your website. I wish I would have chosen the Hampton Inn then

We were told upon check in that our room was pre-paid and our card would only be held for incidentals. However upon arriving back home our card was charged a $75 deposit + some kind of $10 "city fee". My husband and I both had to call several times to have corrected through the front desk. Left several messages with the billing department and our calls were never returned. If this is their policy I would have just liked to have been informed prior to running our card without authorization. We were never told or given any paperwork upon check in that would indicate any further charges. The front desk made it seem that that they do this to all their guests in hopes it is not caught. Very unethical practice.
