West Loop
Fulton Market, Randolph Market, Jackson Boulevard and Greek Town make up the West Loop. The neighborhood is best known as the location of Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios, but this downtown neighborhood is also an up-and-coming spot for Chicago’s trendsetters. Several sub-neighborhoods within West Loop make this a unique neighborhood to visit. Dotted with factories and warehouses, West Loop is packed with various types of dining and nightlife options. If your timing is right, you can take part in neighborhood events like the West Loop Farmers Market, Craft Beer Fest, or the Randolph Street Market Festival.

Being that I am in the hospitality business, I like to think fellow peers are just as passionate about our industry as I am. WRONG. The service at SohoHouse Chicago is TERRIBLE. I am not sure what type of training they’ve had before being unleashed to the public at large, but Please, MANAGEMENT, wrangle them back and have a redo!!! I’ve written an extensive review of this place on Yelp, please check it out for a real feel of how poorly this establishment has performed!

I live in Chicago. I was out for dinner with clients who wanted a nightcap at the Fox Bar. So we went up. I ordered their drink requests plus a bottled beer I wanted. I asked for a glass with my beer and was given a glass. I had finished my beer when the bartender who served me came to our table, told me the glass I had was not for beer, took it away, came back with a full bottle of the beer I had had earlier and a glass, slammed them on the table and left. I did not want another beer, but I guess I did get charged for beer #2 either (I'll check my account later). And I am frankly at a loss. I asked for a glass, was given a glass, and then told by the person that gave me the glass that I was not suppposed to have that glass. WTF. I cannot tell you I will not ever again come here, as I may have a client who wants to go to Fox Bar, as did my client tonight. Will I ever come jhere voluntarily? Hell no! If you want to be in the service industry, think of the first word in that phrase - service. What a joke. My sole regert is that I initailly left the fool who served me a tip.

Having always wanted to stay at a Soho House my friend and I decided the Chicago one would be a good one to try. We had the most blissful five nights here and we are now suffering as nothing else could/will compare! We had a small room, but it wasn't small at all. The plentiful array of bath products made us feel so luxurious. The decor is absolutely stunning, all areas of the house. The rooftop pool is the best pool experience I've ever had. The food delicious, drinks equally so and despite our expectation that we might feel a bit 'uncool' we felt totally at home and welcome. I honestly can't think of one thing I'd change. Simply the best. Can't wait to come back!

Had a business retreat at this incredible place. Every detail, every little appointment was exquisite. From all the extras in the room ( bone China, array of lotions and shampoos, fresh lemons / limes for drinks) AND a knock at the door which was a bar cart w crazy good cocktails. The Moscow Mule w fresh ginger was the best I have ever had. I know this is a member only hotel / club ... seems like it is well worth it. If I lived closer - I would definitely want to be a part of this place. I have such a crush!

I am in my seventies and too old to be clubworthy but I choose Soho House when traveling to cities where a room is available. I use it as a retreat. I eat and drink there and visit the spa. I spend time looking at the books they have chosen. I just soak in all the creative energy that has gone into the spaces. Then it happens, I start getting all kinds of ideas......they must be doing something right if they can stimulate this old brain!
