Soho House Chicago is a hotel and private members' club located in the West Loop. In a turn-of-the-century six-story former belting factory in the Fulton Market District, The Allis Building, dating back to 1907, now houses the first midwest Soho House. At ground level you'll find The Allis, a public-facing social space for all-day dining and cocktailing. Inside the House, the club floor has a booths and leather sofas for all-day eating and drinking. The 17,000 square foot second-floor gymnasium includes a professional boxing ring, and on the club's rooftop are a pool and terrace with skyline views of downtown Chicago. The hotel has 40 bedrooms, all featuring king-sized beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and a plethora of amenities. Soho House Chicago also holds a private event space, a screening room, a music room and greater public spaces including Cowshed spa, Chicken & Farm Shop and Fox Bar.

Loved everything about this place. Rooms were gorgeous and comfy and came with every amenity you could need. Beautiful decor and tasteful accessories, I could not fault it. It’s expensive - but you get what you pay for and I have no complaints. A very classy establishment. Thank you for having us.

stayed here in 2019 and 2023, both times only for one night. As every soho house it makes sure that all your needs during the stay are taken care off: best mini bar you can wish for, amazing gym with the latest equipment, incredible restaurant and many more… find out for yourself! The area is also perfect!

Really enjoyed my stay at Soho House Chicago. Staff were absolutely fabulous - on reception, in the club bar, & in both restaurants, Allis & Cecconis. These charming communal spaces are the main reason I chose to stay, I love the SH brand & have rarely been disappointed. I was travelling solo so opted for the standard room which was compact, & just as expected with regards to Soho House styling. Whilst small, I found it a cosy cocoon of pleasure, with its big, comfy bed, lush duvet, full drinks bar & of course, array of Cowshed products. With its exposed brick walls & raw concrete ceiling, it had an industrial edge, reflecting the location, a former meat packing area. I would have to concur with a previous reviewer though, that the carpet was a bit stained, furniture a tad bashed, & if judging on room alone, it wasn’t worth the money. Access to such a great club bar, & to the excellent Cecconi’s, very much was. Food, was delicious & the setting, particularly the rooftop Cecconi’s, simply stunning. Only the ground floor restaurant, Allis is open to the general public. The location, Fulton Market, is hip, boho, arty, & very much suited to the brand, with some renowned restaurants like Girl & the Goat & BLVD on the doorstep. The characterful building, a former belt factory, is also typical of the SH style. The hotel has a huge gym & Cowshed spa, as well as a beautiful 30 seat cinema. Loved it!

I am so sorry to say that if you are used to any of the other great Soho House Hotels as I am (NY, Berlin, Istanbul, Barcelona, London, etc.), you won't be pleased with the room here or some of the staff. They really need to get their act together. Rooms *Quite stuffy and you can't even crack the windows at all to let in fresh air. Not great during a pandemic. As a result, you may be kept awake by the rumbling of the ventilation system. *Stained and weathered carpets are pretty gross. *Heavily padded headboard that seems like it has never been steam-cleaned. They actually put a thick layer of pillows in front of it so that you don't have to get too close to it or touch it. Staff * The evening restaurant staff were quite helpful and correct. This was not the case at breakfast. * Except for Eunice (she's amazing), some of the staff at reception were unprofessional and at times even condescending. They were aloof and seemed unhappy. You know when they make you feel like they are doing you a favor to help you or check you out, well this is what we sometimes got. Check-out was the worst part and left a really bad taste in our mouths. While disputing something on the bill, the woman said to us, condescendingly, "Do you want me to call the manager?" I felt like I was at a TSA check at O'hare airport. We were misinformed about street-side parking restrictions. * The breakfast is blow standard. The cinnamon roll is foul. It seemed to have been taken out of the freezer and overly baked. When I cut into it, an explosion of goopy glaze came out of it (if you know cinnamon rolls, the glaze should be on top). When I sent it back to the kitchen, the unfriendly waiter said "Well, you ordered a cinnamon roll." He did bring me a croissant instead though. They couldn't get the coffee order right either even after several days of ordering the same coffees. *I needed a conference room for an online meeting. I asked twice at reception and was given different, not very helpful solutions. The man working at night was really permissive and suggested that I do it in any empty space I could find or just in the lobby! I wanted to book a space. I finally found an empty space, and as I was in my meeting, a sleepy long-haired man (I think I recognized him as the emotionless waiter from the cinnamon roll experience) sleepily strolled out of the cinema (where he had been sleeping???). Weird. Housekeeping *They completely forgot to make up one of our rooms one day. *They didn't thoroughly replenish toiletries. I know we could have probably requested more, but I am used to other houses (exception - Berlin) automatically refilling used products. Heavy bass music can. be heard in the rooms when there is a DJ playing, This didn't really bother us as it didn't go too late, but it may bother some guests. This place is a kind of a disaster.

Really very very comfortable stay. Loved the room and the amenities. Just perfect. We took advantage of the pool and loungers and enjoyed kicking back and watching the pool activities. Pool is dominated by kids in the morning, but clears out by the afternoon. Had lunch and breakfast in the poolside lounge and greatly enjoyed it. Really loved the amenities of this spot and well worth becoming a friend of soho house to enjoy the spot. Plan to return.

Great staff, food, drinks, ambiance, community, cleanliness, and fresh creative presentation. The hotel halls are quite. The entertainment areas are alive and the chill areas are sublime. SOHO also has great views of the city and surrounding West Loop neighborhood.

My friend and I needed a short escape and headed downtown to SoHo House. Greatest decision ever! We each got a tiny room which was perfect. Although the room is small, it has all of the amenities and the most amazing shower. We made reservations at the pool, relaxed, ate and drank like we were on vacation! Many restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance and most importantly it all felt very safe. Everyone we saw wore a mask and maintained social distancing.

Why? Because the staff is pounding and banging as theybsetup for events on top of the guest room. No consideration the dragging chairs across the floor at midnight might keep guests awake. Ridiculous. Even after calling the manager cant get them to stop. Crazy.

Being that I am in the hospitality business, I like to think fellow peers are just as passionate about our industry as I am. WRONG. The service at SohoHouse Chicago is TERRIBLE. I am not sure what type of training they’ve had before being unleashed to the public at large, but Please, MANAGEMENT, wrangle them back and have a redo!!! I’ve written an extensive review of this place on Yelp, please check it out for a real feel of how poorly this establishment has performed!
