A surprisingly comfortable and cute stay. The beds were the best of all of our stays here in Chicago, but they’re service, nothing but excellent! Billy made our stay friendly, easy and most enjoyable, he goes one step up to give you a happy stay. He upgraded our rooms at no charge, and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. Took his time without making us feel rushed. I would give more stars if trip advisor had more
Virgin Hotels Chicago is one of the most fun and thoughtful hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There are many areas to relax in with a good vibe and high-end features. There’s a coffee shop with excellent espresso and tea drinks. Miss Ricky’s is the chicest diner, with the most amazing salmon eggs Benedict, or you can get Brekkie if you’d like a taste of the UK. The Commons Club has been closed during the pandemic but there is a sophisticated lounge and “funny library” on the 2nd floor for a mini getaway. The rooftop bar has indoor and outdoor seating, with a nice view over the city, and live music on weekends. There’s also a gym but we didn’t try it this trip. They’ve completely rethought the hotel room into a two-part chamber, making the space seem extra generous and adding comfort for couples not always on the same sleep schedule. There’s a robe, yoga mat and even umbrella as well as signature scented toiletries. The bed has an extra “seat” corner, the desk is flexible, and you can cast from your phone to the tv with ease (as well as other things). I slept like a rock, with my sleep app stats to prove it. (We heard the L train but it didn’t bother us at all, in fact it added to the city ambience for us.) With the Virgin app you can tip the staff electronically, super helpful. All within easy walking distance of the waterfront parks, Riverwalk, and so much more in the Loop. Right on the red line if you want to take the L further. Best of all, the staff are to a person friendly, efficient, and genuinely nice people. We hope to be back again soon! What a lovely place.…
Amazing Service, Billy made us feel like royalty! No issues checking in, even got a room upgrade! Rooms are very nice and the hotel is in a very nice area in the city. Cafe and restaurant in the hotel are both very good as well. Did not have the chance to check out the rooftop bar but it sounded very nice. If youre looking for somewhere to stay on your trip to Chicago definitely consider Virgin Hotels!
I stay at this hotel often for work and I have NEVER been disappointed. The suites are incredible and have the best views of the city. The rooms are always super clean, beds are comfortable and it's such a fun vibe. Alex at the front desk was so helpful and nice. He made me feel so welcomed to be back in Chicago. High recommend to anyone staying down town!
Rooms were clean and larger than most Chicago hotels. Updated, bright with great views. One of the bellmen, Dolado made an exceptional impression. He was hard working, pleasant and went out of his way to assist us on arrival and departure. All staff friendly and accommodating.
After a long journey was welcomed by Shaun at the front desk. What a welcome that was! Wish that many more front desk employees would make check in such a nice and welcoming experience! I immediately forgot the time difference and got a lot of energy and any time when passing the front desk was hoping to see Shaun with her smile!
The bridal suite on floor 24 is great! My room near the train tracks on floor 10 not so much. You hear the noise from the train, have no view and the experience is subpar. The staff does not take into consideration your request for a quiet room. I asked for a quiet room with 2 beds and got 1-bed room with some noise from the train. Terrible sleep the night before my daughter's wedding. Very disappointed with my experience here.
I surprise my husband with a weekend staycation for his birthday. When we arrive the front desk staff (Alex) sang Happy Birthday and did a “happy dance”. We love hanging out by the river walk. We were always greeted when we were in the lobby. The restaurant “Ricky’s” was good. Billy, the Assistant Manager, was very helpful when we checked out. Our 2nd staycation at the Virgin Hotel, we’ll be back.
What is there to say except WOW. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, every detail was executed flawlessly. It began with a great interaction with the Assistant Manager Billy at the front desk. I'd had quite a stressful morning traveling to Chicago and Billy instantly made me feel welcome. The Housekeeping team had my room ready to go 2 hours ahead of check-in time, which was enormously appreciated as I had a work event shortly after arriving. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and beyond comfortable. Despite being busy all week, the hotel granted me a late check-out so I could store my luggage before departing. I was at the hotel for a work conference, so I didn't get to try any of the food and beverage outlets; however, the catering was some of the best I've ever experienced at a work event. Having been a hotel catering manager at one point in time, I am generally a bit picky, but everything was fresh, delicious, and filling. In all, it was a short but highly pleasurable stay. When I return to Chicago next, the Virgin Hotel will be the first place I check out. One point of feedback: The upstairs bar, Cerise, has delicious drinks. That said, I didn't find the servers or host staff to be welcoming. One of the servers was very rude to my company's Chief HR Officer right to our faces and it was quite embarrassing and uncomfortable. It made me nervous about the cocktail hour we'd purchased with the hotel the following night for our company's offsite. Another staff member gave us a hard time for pulling up some extra chairs for colleagues, even though we were upstairs for almost 2.5 hours and the bar was maybe 1/4 full. I'm not sure if this bar is new or going through a transition but it needs some work.…
Super nice hotel room, great gym, perfect location and the nicest employees! Special thanks to Lomar (breakfast restaurant) which served us with the best humor! Rooftop bar is also great for a night drink. Only thing I missed is the no-touch credit card payment.
