The Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District garners appreciation for its prime location, which guests find perfect for exploring nearby attractions on foot. Reviewers repeatedly praise the cleanliness of the hotel, from spotless rooms to tidy common areas. The staff's friendly demeanor is acknowledged by many, although a few have noted occasional disorganization.
While the modern rooms are a hit, the breakfast area's size and the elevator capacity sometimes receive criticism. Opinions on value and atmosphere are mixed, with some guests pointing out unexpected fees against a backdrop of historical charm.

Detailed Reviews
I am so glad we chose this hotel! I read a lot of Trip Advisor reviews that mentioned other downtown Chicago hotels with small rooms. We had a room on the 17th floor and it was very quiet (there are only about 9 rooms on each floor as far as I could tell). The room we had was perfect for 2 of us. Room was very clean and the bathroom totally remodeled. Even had an easy chair in there!! Coffee machine and frig but no microwave. They are only doing housekeeping every 4 days but would pick up trash, provide extra towels, etc if requested. On the third day we requested towels at the front desk and by the time we got up to our room, the man was there with our towels. Never had hotel service that fast! Breakfast was good, with coffee and hot water 24/7 along with cookies in the early evenings. The breakfast area was small but we were always able to find a table. The front desk provided trays for those who wanted to take their breakfast to their room. Security was good - you had to have a key to go to any floors above the lobby as well as enter the building after 10 pm. All the front desk personnel were so friendly. and Sophia was very helpful and patient when I was trying to understand my bill. Location is perfect with easy access to the Blue and Red lines. This hotel is my go-to for Chicago visits from now on!

My friends and I stayed here two nights for a concert and some Chicago sightseeing. The location of this hotel is perfect for walking to many restaurants and sights, we valeted the car the entire weekend and walked everywhere including to the station to take the L to Wrigley for the concert - much easier and cheaper than an Uber. The service here was fabulous and although the breakfast was very busy and crowded at times the staff kept it well stocked. Although it’s an older hotel our room was very large! No complaints.

I want to start the review by saying the front desk team were great! The breakfast team…one of the young ladies seemed to really enjoy helping…however the person I asked for additional syrup told me I had to use up the bottle before she would open another. There was hardly any in the bottle, but I did as she requested, then waited on her to find the new bottle of syrup and open it…about 5 minutes. Not great customer service. Rooms were fine, pillows were horrible beds were ok. Heads up this property is not following the rules…we are a diamond and requested a late check out..:they said the property owners now charge 45 dollar fee. We called the Diamond desk to let them know, they couldn’t help us for our stay, but hopefully a change will happen for others visiting soon

Upon arriving early at the Hampton Inn, we entered on the ground level. My first thought was uh-oh--I may have made a mistake. It definitely needs updating. It was necessary to take the elevator one floor up to the lobby. Getting off the elevator made me change my mind. It was a nice looking lobby, although small. Our desk clerk, Warren, was a peach. He was very helpful. However, when trying to check us in, up came numbers that were no where near what my reservation amount was. Don't know how or why that was happening, but I finally showed him my email from Hampton Inn to indicate the amount I made the reservation for. Of course, there was an incidental deposit, but then they were going to charge us $25 to check in early. I said, "No way." We'll be back later. Don't know if this is standard procedure anymore or not, but I was not going along with it. I'd rather spend the money on Chicago things. Coming back at the acceptable time, Warren got us checked in and gave us a bag of goodies. He was so polite and congenial. Kudos to Warren! The breakfast area was small, but the food offering was pretty inclusive for a continental breakfast. The Denver omelet was very tasty! Hampton Inn was able to store our luggage both upon arrival and after check out. We appreciated that very much. I loved the location. It was within walking distance to many places and just around the corner from bus stops. Couldn't ask for anything more. I did give this hotel 5 stars, but was not happy with the early check in fee, but we dealt with it. Still don't know why all these reservation amounts kept popping up higher than what I made the reservation for. Should have been in the computer somehow. The room was very comfortable and clean. Not exactly thrilled with the heavier bed cover--my feet need wiggle room!

One night stay for a Pearl Jam concert @ Wrigley. Parking is always a pain. There were closer spots, but I chose the Grant Park North garage due to the reasonable cost ($25), security, and ease of getting in and out. Walked less than 10 minutes over to the hotel. Check in was a breeze through the Hilton app. I was able to check in and get a digital key on my phone. With that I was able to walk right in, access the elevator as well as the room without talking to a soul. Room was great, clean, bed comfy, small fridge that worked and didn't freeze anything. My only gripe is the breakfast area (which doubles as the very small lobby) was waaaayyyy too small to handle the amount of people trying to get something to eat in the morning. I didn't even try to navigate the hoards of people and instead walked a couple blocks down to McDonalds.

We stayed for 4 days in a family room with breakfast. The positive point: the room was clean and fairly recent and the location is good.
The lesser points: the windows cannot be opened because they are worn to death. The dirty laundry containers are at the entrance to welcome you. The reception on the 3rd floor is tired and very basic. The breakfast room is far too small and the very poor breakfast is on paper plates with plastic cutlery, which you have to clear yourself.
No cold cuts, almost no fruit, no fresh bread,… Everything is either sweetened or warmed up… nothing fresh. To top it all off, the entire hotel staff comes to enjoy breakfast with the guests. Why Hilton keeps this budget hotel under its name is a mystery... that says a lot about the quality they stand for. The staff is friendly, but that's all. Certainly not a second time.

Excellent help from Mike the manager.
Wy wife was not well and is also needed a room with no view on a lower floor due to her fear of heights.
Although I had phoned ahead and confirmed this arrangement on the advertised number, they had no record of that person working at the hotel?? That confused me and I re-phoned the number in front of the reception team since they said this was not their number.
Anyway, Mike came out of his office and responded very quickly and positively arranging a lower floor room, accelerating its cleaning and made sure we were comfortable.
It was not the reception person on duty's fault at all but between Mike and her, they sorted things out for us. Well done - good recovery is good customer service.
Now the hotel. Typical nice city hotel and this one has a lot of history to it which was nice. It is in an ideal location. For an out of towner like ourselves, apparently staying in the Loop in Chicago is where its at!! (And the official start of Route 66 is just around the corner.)
Thank you Mike and team

My only was breakfast closing. I was waiting for my waffle to cook and there were people in line behind me wanting a waffle. At 9:30, even though there were people in line wanting a waffle the staff came in and said “sorry there is no more waffle batter.”
I feel this is bad customer service I was told that the staff are only allowed to make a certain amount of batter? What if the batter had run out at 9? There should be as much food available at 9:30 when they close as there was at 7.

This hotel is centrally located on Monroe and we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go (despite inclement weather). The rooms were very quiet and that is a real rarity in this day and age. Well kept, and perfect in the sense that you had a spot to put an open suitcase, had 2 comfy chairs, one at desk and one that had a moveable table with it. Good size walk-in shower and bathroom. Plenty of hooks and plugs. I liked having spot to hang my coat by the door esp on days when wet from rain. I would stay here again as price is reasonable and staff is very nice. And just a great location.

Im also not sure but dont recall seeing any facilities of that type there. There is a laundry and dry cleaning service called laundryheap which picks up and delivers to the Hampton Inn Majestic.
