Our family of three stayed in this hotel in June. The hotel is centrally located and walking distance from a vast assortment of landmarks and entertainment. The room was nice and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small for counter space. There is a dress code in the hotel restaurants, but it wasn't a big deal. We knew about it... More

On the weekends, when the lawyers and business people go home, the Loop and the ULCC take on a quieter, slower, pleasant pace. Great pool, brunch, restaurant; quiet, well air conditioned rooms. Free wifi. Red line El station close by. Happy here.

I'm not the person who would usually stay at a place like The Union League Club, but I was honored to spend a weekend there with a girlfriend that was a member of a similar club in Saint Louis. I'm assuming you need a membership or sponsor to stay here, or have some type of reciprocal thing, like we did.... More

I recently had occasion to travel to the East Coast and have stayed at several highly regarded private city clubs (e.g. NYAC, Jonathan Club and Union League in Philly). I returned to my home club in Chicago, The Union League Club and was reminded about how good we have it - warm and inviting public rooms, great attentive service and... More

Not so central anymore as the activity has moved to near north, but with cabs, Uber, and Lyft it just doesn't matter. Excellent exercise facilities. A fabulous and beautiful library so you do not have to work in your room. The only problem is that it is too popular and often booked full.

Great staff that tends to your every need. Property is unassuming and in a great part of downtown Chicago near the Federal Reserve Building. Proper attire must be worn when in public areas of the complex. Terrific restaurant. We had complimentary lobster with our steak entrees. Rooms can be small and bathrooms even smaller. You may want to request a... More

I came to Chicago for a conference. In my free day, I was not allowed to have my breakfast, because I was wearing jeans! I explained I was not a club member, but a guest. "Hotel policy", they told me. Worse experience ever!

We went to Chicago for a few days and chose Union League Hotel because it has a reciprocal arrangement with our club in NYC. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We are used to club dress code rules, but someone who is not might find the rules off-putting. The hotel has the charm of an older time. The rooms are... More

At a college mini-reunion we found much to enjoy including exercise rooms and swimming pool. Walking distance to Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Millennium Park. Excellent food, Impressed by the dedication to and display or extraordinary art collection including rare photos of 1893 Worlds Fair buildings. There are open tours anyone can sign up for. Otherwise, for guest... More

Even though the facility is old, it is not dated and is very well maintained. The wood work, decor, art collection and service are all amazing. It is a bit south of the popular shopping but is definitely a walking distance to most. The rooms are clean an beds are very comfortable. This location does require a "membership" but is... More
