My friend and I very much enjoyed our stay. Check in was easy and the rooms were nice with a great view. Very centrally located which makes for easy transportation as we were going to other bars and a concert. The only reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is because the valet service, outsourced by the Godfrey, were horribly inefficient at getting our car upon checkout. The fee was comped, but my only recommendation would be to park your car somewhere else. Later learned that their garage is over 7 blocks away. Overall, great stay and would love to return!

The Godfrey is a beautiful hotel downtown Chicago, very convenient location. First at night you will notice that there is a night club entrance at the hotel entrance. There is no "off street" entrance to the hotel for ease of checking in. The front desk can be either slow to respond to service request or not respond at all. One day they never called my valet in. One day they never told housekeeping that I requested two more towels, for me to walk out the room and see them in the hallway and give me some right away. There was also a very loud nose that was persistent our whole stay, that sounded like a plane taking off or a storm coming. Also valet takes about 15-25 minutes (neither here nor there). Overall not a bad experience, it just could've been so much better! Great place!

To start off, i have to say I really enjoyed my room. It was very clean, Spacious, and comfortable. The main complaint i have is that when i went to dine with my business team one of my co workers was asked to take off his cap (that was a plain white boat hat). This wouldn't have been a problem because we know that certain places have rules but as we continue to enjoy our drinks, we noticed that a few other people on the Rooftop had their hats on (one being a girl with a red version that my co worker was wearing). Since my co worker is African American he felt it was weird that he was asked to take off his hat yet no one else was required. When we asked the manager that told him to he relayed that he asked the other people as well but they just didn't do it and the policy is in place because of the game that was on. My coworkers hat didn't have any sport logo on it and when i asked another around to see if the manager did in fact ask other people to remove their hats, I got a concrete no as the answer. I do not know the reason behind singling my co worker out or why he felt the need to lie about situation instead of just apologizing but my company spent a lot of money so we can go for quarterly recognition and I felt that put a bad taste in my mouth concerning how things were handled. When my coworker went down stairs to try to explain to the hotel management what happened, they informed him that they couldn't do anything because he would have to go upstairs and talk to the rooftop manger (which was the guy that asked to my coworker to remove his hat). I feel the whole situation was not handled correctly and probably wont use this hotel again because of it. It's a shame, because we heard great things about that hotel and do these events every quarter for the top players. This Hotel just lost out of potential high spending repeated customers. Hope that hat policy was worth it.

Nice Hotel and employees. Instead of having microwaves on each floor, they suggested sending one to your room, if one was available. If you order food and it's delivered, don't count on a microwave being sent to your room. Also, there wasn't a single beverage vending machine in the building, but the 24-hour Walgreens is down the street(suggested by the front desk)
