My last time using Bookings.com! This is the third place I have booked with them and the result is the same. Good marketing for places that don’t live up to the hype! The staff was helpful and pleasant and there is a security door. Not the best neighborhood, so I had some fear for my safety. The hallway smelled, but the room didn’t. Decent bed, but the room needed better cleaning. The blinds were dusty and there were items from previous occupants in the corners and under the bed. Some curtains were off the rods, so I had to be creative to prevent people on the street watching me dress and undress. The tub either hadn’t been cleaned or it was stained. TV reception was bad, so had to watch through the snow. Wish there was a tv channel guide so I knew there were two ABC channels and the other one had better sound so I could have heard my show better. Lots of noise from sirens on the street. Place was full of young people who were quiet, but i’m not sure they stayed for more than an hour or two at one time. I asked for a room near the elevator, but was at the other end of the hall. Had to stop a few times to catch my breath. No evidence of little critters. Price was good, but I won’t spend my money there again. Other booking sites have similar deals, but a single woman can have an assurance that she will feel safe and have cleaner accommodations.…
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Booked this hotel for a stay while in town for a White Sox game. The pics on Booking.com show a nice hotel and was described as a boutique hotel convenient to the stadium. We pulled in and I was totally taken aback. The pics on the web were so misleading. The place is a hellhole that looks like a drug dealing Mecca. We did not even get out of our car. All of the dealers standing around stared at us like they were wondering why we were there. I called the hotel and they would not refund my money. We ended up getting a place north in Wisconsin. I am being totally honest, any positive reviews have to be bogus regarding this place. I hope this review saves one person from making the mistake we made.
Horrible horrible horrible horrible. Warning they all work for the police. They intentionally set people up to get busted by cops. I was in 215 and could hear them in the other room talking to the police captain giving him every detail possible to snag folks in almost every room. One lady even said "GOT THAT DUMB N-word". INSTANTLY LEFT. I even heard one of them bragging about cameras in certain rooms. They target and trap people because just because they can. STAY AWAY FROM THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE.
I stayed here for a weekend to go to see the White Sox and this property is within walking distance of the ballpark and the neighborhood itself is safe - I am a female traveling alone and attended a night game. The staff couldn't have been nicer - they allowed me to check in early and held my luggage the day I left. The property is old, but I had a large room, it was clean, and everything worked. There was a smell in the hall but I did not find it to be that bad, and the room itself did not smell. There is a decent barbeque place across the street, and the motel is less than 2 blocks from the L. I stayed for 2 nights and would stay again. It's not fancy but it worked for my purposes.
I found this place online...It was our first trip to Chicago. We been there for 5 days...Wow!...smell was undefinable. ..I never remember any things like this before...mixture of smoke, drug, humidity, odor. ..Fortunately, we been outside all the days... All the furniture are too old and worn.Bathroom was clean with clean towel.Bed sheets were clean and changed everyday. However, it was not all the story! Parking spots are very tiny. There is not enough room for a safe parking.Last day when I went for checking out,I found out somebody hit my back car bumper!...I asked for checking surveillance videos ..After a while the receptionist told me we can not find who hit your car!!!... I think, they never want to accept any responsibility about that and prefer I leave there without more complain...Finally,I left "Amber inn" with a 500$ car damage...Becareful! lower price may be cost you more...…
