Located just north of Chicago’s downtown financial and retail hubs, Lincoln Park is the city’s most charming and historically rich residential community, where tree-lined streets are dotted with a mix of million-dollar-plus homes and classic three-flat apartment buildings and sidewalks buzz with energy from families, DePaul University students, young professionals, fitness buffs, and visitors to the city. At the center of it all is Hotel Lincoln. Hotel Lincoln is an upscale boutique hotel with an eclectic-meets-collegial vibe, offering 184 guest rooms, executive meeting space, a lobby-level European-style coffee bar, a spacious rooftop lounge with panoramic views of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan, and the acclaimed Perennial Virant – helmed by award-winning Chef Paul Virant. As Joie de Vivre’s first hotel east of the Mississippi, the property is uniquely designed to not only connect Chicagoans with iconic city gems, but also give travelers a taste of what life is really like in the packed-with-personality city.

The location cannot be beat, as far as being in the middle of Lincoln Park. The rooftop is phenomenal and having priority versus walk in patrons is awesome. Outside of these two BIG positives, the rest is kind of meh. Service and attitude of the staff is really solid. Positive folks and very nice. However, the rooms are dated and worn out. They remind me of older hotels in New York City, with window AC units, no exhaust fans in the bathrooms and overall you are pretty cramped. This place is older, that is just the deal. If you are looking for modern, sleek, clean and new... this is not somewhere for you. If you want to be in the heart of it all and within walking distance to everything that is Lincoln Park, this place is a solid spot. In my personal opinion, a little more pricey than it deserves, but that rooftop is sweet!

Clearly resting on its location and doing nothing else to make the place a comfortable or pleasant place to stay. The public spaces and rooms are all shabby and dark. Our "suite" was small, dark, and very depressing. It looked like the kind of room you might find at a YMCA. While the bedding and towels were clean, and the bathroom clean, the 'suite' had a dingy sofa and chairs and a noisy a/c unit under the window (like an old NYC apt). The bedroom closet/niche had no lighting. No plugs beside the bed. Another old, noisy, and barely working a/c unit. Bed was hard (as if we were sleeping on just the box spring). We spent as little time as possible in this room. When we needed something (bedding for the pullout or an extra pillow), we had to call multiple times to the front desk. When we needed the valet, we often had to wait 10-15 mins for him to return. When we went for breakfast on the roof, they were out of coffee.

Dear 759susiez, Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. Our lobby and second floor lounge area were just renovated two years ago and most enjoy those spaces. We encourage our guests to request their cars 10 minutes prior to departing as like most city hotels it can take some time for retrieval. Hope you have a wonderful summer and stay well. Sincerely, Dan White GM

From the moment I checked in with Troy in reception, I knew I had chosen the perfect hotel. The entire staff was exceptional helpful and friendly during our weekend stay. I was given a brief tour by Lea in Sales and even met Dan White the GM. Our special corner room was exceptional in its configuration, as our two double beds were separated by the bathroom wall. The decor was absolutely delightful with accents of red, including the cute red Hotel Lincoln throw pillows. The room was exceptionally clean including the very adequate bathroom that included a tub/shower. There was plenty of space on the shelf unit to store all of our toiletries and the closet contained nice wooden hangers for our clothes. We loved the rooftop bar/restaurant J. Parker and had a delicious brunch in the Kennison. I We would definitely recommend Hotel Lincoln for your next visit to Chicago.

Doubt I will ever stay here again. While clean, the room was very small. The window AC needed a new filter. In addition the fan was noisy and went on and off all night. Sleep very difficult. There was a tiny bathroom. Walls were super thin. Staff was friendly but unhelpful. Major problem was the booking company where I made the reservation. They charged me $212.01 for taxes and other charges. I have asked for a breakdown of the amount and have been refused. In addition the hotel charge $15 a day plus taxes for amenities every day. There are none that aren’t included in the room price everywhere else. The hotel is very old but still..........

My wife and I stayed for three nights in February for a bit of a staycation. We’ve been to the rooftop bar multiple times, but this was our first time staying in the hotel. The hotel rooms are a bit on the old side, though that is in part a byproduct of the age of the building itself. The hotel staff were all friendly. While we likely will not stay here again as this was a staycation, this would be a great place to be based to visit Chicago.
