GreenLeaders Bronze level
Located just north of Chicago’s downtown financial and retail hubs, Lincoln Park is the city’s most charming and historically rich residential community, where tree-lined streets are dotted with a mix of million-dollar-plus homes and classic three-flat apartment buildings and sidewalks buzz with energy from families, DePaul University students, young professionals, fitness buffs, and visitors to the city. At the center of it all is Hotel Lincoln. Hotel Lincoln is an upscale boutique hotel with an eclectic-meets-collegial vibe, offering 184 guest rooms, executive meeting space, a lobby-level European-style coffee bar, a spacious rooftop lounge with panoramic views of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan, and the acclaimed Perennial Virant – helmed by award-winning Chef Paul Virant. As Joie de Vivre’s first hotel east of the Mississippi, the property is uniquely designed to not only connect Chicagoans with iconic city gems, but also give travelers a taste of what life is really like in the packed-with-personality city.

Great Location. Safe, Right next to Lincoln Park and the free zoo - need to make reservations for the zoo. Citibikes are located right next door which was very nice - I would get the entire day on the Citibikes as an FYI. The hotel does have two bikes to use but only one was really ridable. Room was very small but clean and nice. Front desk people were all very nice.

I miss the original Lincoln Hotel. Now it's corporate owned and they actually charge a resort fee. What's comical is this property is not a resort. Bring back the original Lincoln and the charm and friendliness they once had. The Lincoln sign is crying and blinking to return to the glory of the past. It's ruined for now with corporate greed.

I loved my two-night stay here so much in going back tomorrow! My room was very small, but it was packed with style. I didn't mind the size at all. It still had an ironing board and a big bath tub. What else do I need? It also had a desk and a corner seat. The bathroom was especially nice. The fabulous location is across the street from Lincoln Park (the park) and in a very nice neighborhood. It's a short walk to Lincoln Park restaurants and shopping and my favorite, Oz Park. The staff was friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they allow dogs without fees. Some hotels are so greedy with their pet fees.

We live in Chicago but my family (preschool and infant) had to relocate for a few days due to construction. We chose somewhere close to home and ended up at Lincoln Hotel. Having never been but had driven by many times we were excited to try out this boutique hotel that looked like it had real potential...from the outside. While I’ll cut the experience some slack due to Covid, the pandemic cannot be blamed for all of the faults: -Lobby felt very dark and sad -Room was overwhelmingly dissatisfying -Cable TV didn’t work -Window ac units were loud -Furniture was very cheap and damaged (felt like frat house furniture, a lot of scratches, bubbled wood veneer, chipped pieces) -Pillows were lumpy -Carpet was coming up in corners/edges -Shower head (while Kohler brand) was ineffective for women trying to rinse out any product -Room lighting was poor, dark -Our room overlooked the back of a building and a fire escape -Room didn’t feel clean (hairs found on carpet, shower curtain was dirty enough for us to not feel comfortable using it) Rooftop was open for breakfast which provides a lovely view of the lake. It’s a quiet space and the only outdoor space the hotel provides. So because I was working from the hotel (and didn’t particularly care for the room) I thought the roof would be a nice place to work in the afternoon. However, it is closed between end of breakfast and dinner which I only came to find out after I was asked to leave. Best part, breakfast of on the roof, Kennison restaurant and proximity/location in Lincoln Park. I’d loosely recommend to anyone willing to accept a motel-esque experience room from a “boutique” hotel.

This is a great hotel. Less glitzy than the bigger hotels, feels more personal. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. There are several choices for eating. We found breakfast in Elaine's Coffee Call a good option for good coffee, yoghurt or fruit - and 5* macaroons ! The Kennison is very handy for a reasonably priced meal in the hotel, and the staff here are also very friendly and helpful. The fish and chips here are great
