Not 5 star worthy. Lobby is tiny and not many places to sit down and relax within the property. Service was below average. When we checked in, we had asked 2 questions about what was included in our rate and after hearing their response to those questions we were left with more questions. They talked in circles and were very confusing and weren't able to answer the question. The rooms are fine (it's small but clean). However, nothing special about it and definitely not 5 star. When we ordered room service, they messed up our order and food wasn't great. The chicken dish we had was like rubber. Also, they gave themselves $5 extra in tip than what we had initially given (what we had initially given was considered standard ) for the room service order and there was already service charge included on top of that as well. The next day, while I was waiting for the room to be cleaned, I took a look at their "market" in lobby for beverage and snacks. For some reason, they decide to lock the fridge and you have to wait in line for front desk to open it for you. It seems they don't trust guests if they need to lock the snacks and beverages with a physical lock. Overall, it was a below average to average stay. Location is good but there are much better hotels in the area with much better service. For short term, this hotel is fine but I wouldn't want to stay here long term and won't be coming back. …
Just steps from MI ave, great safe location, clean and terrific friendly service. We had all our family stay at the Sofitel and each family had a great experience. Would recommend staying in while visiting Chicago
The rooms are magnificent and the bed is out of this world. The first night I slept for 12 hours, which I have not done in more than 10 years. Location of the hotel is the best since it is close to Michigan Avenue but away from the excessive noise. The only problem at this place is the restaurant which is just extremely expensive. A glass of the house Chardonnay for $24.00 is outrageous.
I absolutely love the Sofitel Chicago! If you want to explore the city, look no further, as it is really close to all main attractions. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and all of the staff have been wonderful! Great breakfast, and dinner in the bar was fantastic, too.
Amazing service. I will return. I was greeted with big smiles since I arrived. I was given a umbrella as it was raining which made me feel a lot better walking about the city. Also, the bar here is great. The drinks were a little sweet but the service and environment was unbeatable. Thank you for everything you do!
The people who work at the hotel are very nice and kind, they are also always looking out for you. The rooms are very cozy and have anything you need to be comfortable. As tourist we will return to Sofitel. Thank you for everything. Great experience, and a perfect place to stay in Chicago.
I chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday and had the best guests services from Tequitta and Janae! I was so surprised to receive a card and cupcakes sent to my room! Thanks ladies I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again!
Good location, clean, quiet. Small bar downstairs which has a nice atmosphere and good selection. Service was slow however and our waitress dropped a glass of red wine on my colleague. Breakfast was fine… a la carte menu only but arrived fairly quickly (starts only at 7am). Room was typical 4*… average size, comfortable, mass produced art and limited toiletries. Room service menu was very limited and over priced. 29 for the meal (excl drink) but bill was 46 with tax and delivery. Check in was slow and impersonal despite not being that busy (Saturday 4pm) but a very pleasant check out experience (Thursday 7.30am). Wouldn’t recommend for the international traveler who might require any service or subsistence between 10.30pm and 7am.
Lovely stay, quiet and comfortable in the Magnificent Mile district. The room was clean and quiet, with a great view of the city. The food at The Sofitel is delicious, I would definitely recommend trying breakfast or lunch, and for the quality of the meals, it’s good value as well. Cocktails in the bar at night is a great way to wind down at the end of a busy day too!
The Sofitel is one of my favorite hotels in Chicago. The location is perfect, the staff is wonderful and it's within walking distance from the Magnificent Mile and restaurants on Rush. The rooms are comfortable and it offers nice views.
