This is a beautiful Historic Hotel in a nice neighborhood within walking distance of a lot of history. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, and the grounds are peaceful and relaxing. The hotel has bicycles you can use, which is wonderful. Festival was the hotel manager, david, who treats everyone like family. He noticed I had a flat tire, texted me about it, and then filled the tire with air and gave me a great suggestion on where to get it fixed a few blocks away. I also appreciated the parking spot that came with the room. Would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend.
My girlfriends and I were so excited to stay in the Wheeler Mansion this past weekend. We were enjoying some girl time and going to the musical "Hairspray". Well the mansion did not disappoint! This is a beautifully elegant boutique hotel. Each room had something different to offer as far as artwork and decor. To the grand foyer and beautiful antique pieces that lined the living room and dining room, it was such a joy to stay there. David the Concierge was excellent, very attentive, friendly and also drove us to the theater. David also suggested for us to eat at the Pilsen Yards for dinner. The food and service were excellent. I can't say enough about our time there, we will definitely go back, plus we want to see it in the summer because the grounds look just beautiful.
Had a great time visiting The Wheeler Mansion with friends for a girls weekend..We arrived Saturday afternoon, checked in, had a snack and off we went!!! First a Matinee at the CIBC Theater, which was just a short ride away. Then a great dinner and drinks at Pilsen Yards!!! David, the Manager at The Wheeler recommended the restaurant for dinner and secured our reservation!! It was such a great place!! Breakfast is included with your stay so no need to find a place!! We all were able to place our orders the night before, it was so delicious and convenient!!! We had plenty of time and space to visit in their beautiful sitting room!!! I would highly suggest a stay at The Wheeler when visiting Chicago!!! It’s a hidden gem!!!
We were in town for only one day, and enjoy staying at boutique hotels. The Wheeler Mansion is not just a boutique hotel, but an elegant piece of history that has been very well preserved. Our host, David was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. The room was elegant and classy with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was made fresh and served to order instead of being thrown out on a buffet table. We'll be back and stay a bit longer when we have more time. Thank you David!
My wife and I were very excited about staying in Wheeler Mansion from the start as we learned about its history. Its was difficult to find this type of B&B in Chicago as many are contemporary and lack the character of an old mansion or are very expensive. So the building itself was a great attraction to us. We found it to be clean and well maintained with a very relaxing garden backyard. David the host, was very accommodating with all our needs and is an excellent chef. In all cases he went above and beyond along with his suggestions for restaurants and sites to see , help make our stay one of the best.He is a true ambassador to Chicago that made our stay in this great city a very pleasant memory. I've been locked up in the house since early March and I needed a change. A little getaway from everything, so my husband booked a night at the Wheeler Mansion. Since the moment I stepped into the courtyard I felt like I was in another country. Everything so beautiful and antique. We were greeted atbthe door snd shown to our room. The place was Immaculate and so expensive looking. In the morning we were cooked breakfast which was fantastic. I absolutely can not wait to go back even its by myself. The place is clean, room was clean, comfortable and cozy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place in a good neighborhood for even one night. You won't regret it!
The hotel was beautiful and the manager was very helpful and made a wonderful breakfast. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. We could not have asked for a better stay or more convenient location to museums and the city.
Had the opportunity to stay at this “Hidden Gem Boutique Hotel” for the convention At McCormick Place, which is Conveniently located within three minutes walk. Was taken back by all the little details that made the room so elegant, classy and extraordinarily comfortable. From the pressed sheets, fluffy towels, robes and slippers to the in-room convenient business amenities. Checking in was a breeze and I was able to check in early. David assisted me to book an in-room massage and had some great local recommendations for dinner. Traditionally I pass on breakfast, but the smells and aesthetics surpassed any expectations. It’s rare that I feel so refreshed after a four day business trip. This is my new home away from home for my monthly trip to Chicago. A sincere thank you to all The Wheeler Mansion staff!!!…
Nice unique boutique hotel in main Chicago area with free parking and complimentary breakfast. The service was excellent we got plated breakfast. It is really nice hotel which basically gave me feeling of home specially my grandparents home
What a treat! The Wheeler Mansion is a little gem in the heart of Chicago. Traveling back in time to a place that was slow, quiet and peaceful. If you want beautiful accommodations without any fuss, this is the place for you. The staff is quiet, helpful and unassuming. They move about the beautiful house quietly allowing guests to enjoy the facility. I recommend going with a small group to allow you to utilize the entire facility. My friends and I named this property “grandma’s house“. If you remember the time when you visited grandma and the floors creaked ever so slightly but everything was pristine and clean. This is that place. The towels are truly soft and the property is truly cared for.
