The hotel and our rooms were beautiful. The staff was helpful. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very good and fast. The location was great. We were walking distance to loads of great shopping, the navy pier, and the waterfront. I would stay here again.

Views great because of location and large windows for a suite feeling, as well as very well appointed generous bath/dressing space. Concierge most accomodating getting us Architecture River Cruise tickets and reservations for hungarian feast. City itself very clean, wide expansive sidewalks, wonderful neighborhoods including Wrigley Field and 2 great bars: Twin Anchors(best pork ribs ever) and Marge's Still(really with... More

We've been visiting the Peninsula Chicago for over a decade, mainly for the wonderful service and atmosphere in The Lobby (restaurant) or The Bar. But on this trip we finally stayed in their newly appointed rooms and it really was spectacular. From the initial check-in process (Kaley) to the chat with the director (Jason), the overall experience was the best... More

Stayed at the Peninsula recently for 3 night for a girls trip with my daughter and mother. Originally booked the Four Seasons but changed to the Peninsula when I read how amazing the rooms were. Best decision! As everyone mentions, rooms are recently renovated and everything is high tech - lighting, temperature, TV, all controlled by iPads located throughout the... More

I didn't stay in the hotel. I enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and had a snack. The service was friendly and the food was great. I had dumplings and beef stir fry - an unusual combo for Chicago. The bill was quite reasonable too which isn't always the case at a Peninsula.

I was blown away by this Peninsula. I had recently stayed in the Tokyo Peninsula, which was amazing, but this one was dare I say, even better? The room, I was told, was updated to be controlled by tablets. They worked pretty well, except that, as with most technology, had a small delay. The touchscreen by the bathtub for the... More

On repeated trips to Chgo in recent months, I have found an impressive consistency in quality and service at the Peninsula Hotel. The rooms are impeccably furnished with a marble-tiled bath and enclosed toilet, spacious dressing room, and a comfortable seating area in the bedroom. Technology is first class, and service is friendly, personalized, and prompt. A fully equipped gym... More

Spent 5night there over the 4th of July weekend and it was a great stay. The hotel's location is right where I wanted to be. All of the staff was excellent. I hosted a gathering of 8 friends in the Lobby Restaurant on Saturday evening off in the corner for dinner and a game of Monopoly. It was a little... More

I planned to have a special night in the city with my daughter. Usually we have stayed next door at the Park Hyatt, but I decided to give the Peninsula a try this time. We arrived right at 3pm (check in time). Upon entry into the hotel at street level, you must take the elevator up to the main lobby,... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
