I visited this hotel for the first time because of all of the great reviews. It was just okay in my opinion, nothing really special accept the price ($700) for the night. The people were nice, but nothing beyond an average hotel. Great location. Fancy - not.
This is truly one of the best hotels in which I have stayed. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The Magnificent Mile suite has wonderful views and was a very nice size for 3 of us. Every attention to detail was made. All the business supplies, including a personal printer and fax machine was included. Large TVs and various lighting all controlled by IPad-like product. The large soaking tub even had a TV to watch and music could be played in the speakers in the bathroom. Felt safe. We ate breakfast in the hotel lobby. They had the same offerings every day. And we ate at Shanghai Terrace and that was very good. This was such a luxurious stay. We hope to return in December.
Typically luxury hotels in the US tend to fall short of their European or Asian counterparts. But the Peninsula Chicago is definitely en par with the chain’s properties in Asia and one of the best hotels in North America. Service and room were splendid. Absolutely nothing to complain. Location could not been better. Will definitely return.
This Hotel is Fantastic! Great - location and amenities. My suite was Beautiful! The Hotel Staff is World Class as to be expected as it represents THE PENINSULA brand. The Security & Valet Staff is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Visiting Chicago? The Chicago Peninsula is one of the greatest stays in my lifetime. I highly recommend. Happy
This hotel is bar none in service. I was fortunate enough to stay twice this summer. The luxury of the rooms and outstanding service by hotel employees starts from the moment you enter with the downstairs personnel. The front desk staff is so attentive & kind, I’m partial to Laura & Vincent. I Had room service several times and the food arrives hot and just as if you were having it in the downstairs rest. The Z Bar is amazing for drinks & Shangai Terrace has great Chinese Food. This is the place to stay at in Chicago. What definitely makes it the best though is it’s attentive and kind staff.
There's a lovely ante lobby where valet services reside and store luggage for your arrival and departure. The main lobby is on the second floor, and is exceptionally spacious and well-decorated. The airline had lost our luggage, and the staff did a great job of ensuring it was received promptly, and had it sent up to our room while we were out, and called us to inform us of its arrival. Beyond that, we had a medical emergency during our stay, and security was swift in bringing a first aid kit to our room, arranging a car to transport us to the nearest hospital, and coordinating with housekeeping to restore the room before we returned. I can't begin to describe how grateful we were to come back to a spotless room after several hours in the emergency room.
Stayed for my husband's birthday and it was truly amazing. They surprised him with a little birthday cake when we got to our room. What a way to start our vacation . Room was so comfortable we didn't want to ever leave. Robes, slippers and an office center like I've never seen in a hotel room before. Loved the location, walking distance to many attractions. Great experience and can't wait to return.
This hotel offers some of the most extraordinary services we have ever received. The room is very modern and huge, and the hotel team took care of every detail. The festival brunch during our stay was excellent and worth every penny. Peninsula is always a surprise. We look forward to coming back in the near future.
Simply put, it doesn't get much better than this hotel! From the beautiful rooms, amazing Five star service, elegant lobby and outstanding food, this hotel is the best. The pillows in the rooms are the most comfy we have ever slept on. We looked forward to going to sleep each night! Shanghai Terrace has the best Asian food we have tasted anywhere. And the service there is exceptional. Great location in downtown Chicago. Highly recommend
From the time we entered this beautiful hotel we were greeted with 5-star hospitality. Micheal at the front desk made sure our room was ready after a long day of traveling with delays. Morgan and Joy, the concierges, were helpful getting reservations during the busy time of the Chicago Food Show. My husband and I enjoy swimming and this pool is one of the nicest indoor pools we have ever swam in. The only downside is the small water bottles and no place to fill your own water bottle. I can't wait to visit this hotel every time we come to Chicago, I hope they bring water stations next time.
