This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are so cozy it was a struggle to leave. To say this hotel is gorgeous is an understatement. The service is also superb. During our visit the hot tub, Asian restaurant, and fitness room were closed due to renovations. This was disappointing, but we still had a wonderful time. The only somewhat bad service we had was in the bar on the top floor. I ordered another drink and never got it. I would stay here again and it is worth every penny of money. I got the grilled cheese in the main lobby, it was so delicious! I did visit the spa and had a wonderful manicure and pedicure. The hotel is in the perfect location to walk to whatever you want. We walked to the Water Tower and to dinner. It was also lovely watching the kids ice skating outside on the private rink. I can't wait to stay here again and worry no other hotel will ever compare to pure luxury and detail.

We stayed here for 5 nights celebrating our daughter passing the Illinois bar. I reached out to concierge in advance to let them know why we were coming and Alejandro Saa from concierge assisted with making our stay truly unbelievably wonderful. He prepared a graphic image for when we arrived in our room which he had printed and framed and it was artistic and unique in every way. It was customized with her photo with marquees and Chicago highlights. He also had balloons, chocolates and balloons ready for us. We travelled with our 2 small dogs and they were even well taken care of with special beds and a dog menu. The Peninsula is one of the best hotels we have stayed at worldwide. The rooms were perfectly appointed, high tech, spacious and comfortably elegant. We had a king suite adjoining to a 2 bed suite. It was extremely large with 3 bathrooms in total. We felt that it was well worth the money. Afternoon tea and the sushi pop up were excellent and the room service was better than most restaurants. Alejandro continued to help us during our stay and we cannot be more grateful to him and the staff for making the experience so memorable. When in Chicago we will only stay here. The pool is lovely with a great view and hot tub as well. There is nothing that this hotel hasn’t thought of. They have everything covered and are situated in the heart of great shopping and restaurants on Michigan Ave. Simply loved our experience and we have lots of wonderful life time memories thanks to Alejandro.

Arriving into the outdoor heated vestibule at the Chicago Peninsula Hotel, a porter collected our luggage while my colleague and I were ushered into a different world. The lobby of the Peninsula has all elements of a luxury hotel without being pretentious. Greeted at check in by a front desk ambassador who was dressed immaculately, smiled genuinely, and did NOT blink an eye that we were both wearing yoga pants & sweatshirts, as we anticipated having to kill time in the Peninsula gym while our luggage was stowed. She used our names, and although we really were not VIP’s in any way, shape of form, this is exactly how we were treated. The authenticity of the staff we had encountered within the first five minutes of entering the hotel was real. Our rooms, were in fact ready, and it was only 9am. A third colleague had requested this for our small group through the property Senior Sales Manager, Transient, Yuna Lytle. This small touch, as well as a late check out were what made the Peninsula Chicago feel like home for a little over 28 hours. The room was spacious, and the first thing I noticed was the windows are allowed to be opened easily and safely; just enough to have fresh air. The November day, was in fact, 60 degrees and sunny. I was in Chicago for work, and the spacious desk, personal printer, and truly every port needed for charging made set up of my office away from home easy. The actual rooms had a sculpture that can only be described as peaceful, tranquil….well, you have to see for yourself, it’s inspiring! Every detail in this room was thought out, and then thought out again. This hotel does not create a space and then never go back to make sure that it’s not up to the highest standards of a business or leisure traveler. An smart tablet was command central for all the systems in the room, from lights to air conditioning. It also provided information from Housekeeping to room service. I travel with a yoga mat to maintain a daily practice, and the generous space gave me room to spread out. Of course, I did not need it, the Peninsula has Yoga Classes which are accessible to any “body” and I took full advantage of this the next day. In my short visit, I savored the quiet of my large room. I soaked in a generous bath tub, and found some spa music to complete my experience. The location was central to a conference that I was attending. The easy walk to some of the best Chicago Pizza and a four-story Starbucks made the first day of the trip feel a little vacation like. From a state of the art gym, stretch space, and fully appointed Spa with a eucalyptus sauna (cold cloths & cucumbers), The Peninsula allows their guests to experience the same quality as a high end Spa Hotel plus more. I was able to soak in the jacuzzi, and dip my toe in the 84 degree pool. My small group did dine in the Lobby Restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows and artwork jumps out at you in this space. The name is deceiving, as the dining experience which included wines from around the globe and a diverse menu, was absolutely delicious. The presentation of the plated gourmet selections were just pretty. The hotel has a few fun experiences in this same room, Afternoon Tea and something called Sushi Pop, which I was a little sad that I missed, as it was later that week. Sushi and music from the 80’s and 90’s, it’s like they know me. I did, however, join my group at the Z Bar, which was on the rooftop overlooking Michigan Avenue. The bartender did not bat an eye or cast judgement when I asked him to make one of their signature drinks, Hendrick’s Neptunia, which is served in a large glass fish, without alcohol. Our group was able to find a seat an oval shaped bar, with cityscapes depicted on the walls, the view of the city was illuminating. An outdoor terrace had personalized gas fire tables. I loved the story of how the Z bar was named, after the first female General Manager and industry influencer, Maria Zec. I was told this story, but I did go to the website to check the spelling of her name, and she is pictured with her dog; I love that. I have had many opportunities to travel, and this was my first time staying at a Peninsula Hotel. I cannot compare this experience to any other. As mentioned previously, the team who decides what the guest will experience has checked and rechecked. I do not think this brand just settles on something, I think that Peninsula Hotels consistently look to improve, in Yoga we call it a beginners mind. That is not to say that The Peninsula Chicago is even close to just beginning, it is to say that I do not think it has an ego, nor do I think that this hotel will ever stop looking for ways to give their guests a top notch experience. Over the top could be their company mission statement. I would be remiss to not mention Yuna Lytle. The wealth of experience, foresight, and her crystal ball to know exactly how to make a guest feel special makes her unequivocally one of the Peninsula Hotel’s most valuable assets. Lori C.

deluxe room set-up is nice, curtains blocked out light, tv channel selection ok. Bed just had duvet and room ran hot/cold (fall in chicago) - wish is also had a top sheet. Room seemed a tad dated, but very well appointed and nice. shower door leaked (water came out bottom). Wish bathroom had 2 sinks. Great location, very friendly staff. nice breakfast selection Their bar is hip trendy, nice view and outside tables with fire pits, drinks are pricey. Would stay here again, especially if came across a good price.

The PenInsula Chicago is perfectly located, right on the Magnificent Mile. My City View suite, with generous footprint, was fit for a King. An elegant living room was outfitted with chairs, circular black tables and a sofa backed by a floor-to-ceiling mural. Exceptional features included large windows promoting Michigan Avenue views and tablet technology that let me control lighting, temperature, curtains and even the 'do not disturb' sign amongst other functions. The bath was marbleized, huge and comes with a TV near the soaking tub. The Peninsula has created many delicious culinary experiences from a Lobby Lounge to the Shanghai Terrace and the Z Bar to the Cafe. The European Cafe and Wine Bar with a bistro-inspired somewhat grab-n-go style is open for breakfast & lunch, Wednesdays to Sundays, and serves items that cater to this category of eatery. The Lobby Lounge serves up contemporary food fare and is home to the hotel's popular brunch, classy high tea and outstanding menu items from filet mignon to scallops. The Z bar, a rooftop terrace, provides elaborate views of the cityscape, innovative handcrafted cocktails & menu items. The Shanghai Terrace serves up authentic Cantanese food .......I thoroughly enjoyed a dim sun lunch here. This hotel can boast of a gorgeous spa which is armed with a bevy of treatments ranging from a Stone Message to a Deep Cleansing Facial. The spa is enhanced by an indoor half-Olympic length swimming pool surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows offering comprehensive city views, a relaxing lounge with a fireplace and a fully equipped fitness center & yoga studio. So, if you are looking for luxe level amenities, pampering service and superb shopping at your front door...................then try the ..................Peninsula Chicago........ ...........grand elegance.

Beautiful and elegant hotel with technical challenges (Internet). I have stayed at the Peninsula many times over the years and have always been very satisfied with the hotel and services. The rooms are elegant, large bathrooms, and the staff is excellent. The Shanghai terrace restaurant in the hotel is one of my favorite restaurants. However, the Internet is a real challenge. I had a room on the 11th floor and despite all attempts by the staff I could not get enough bandwidth to attend a 3 hour virtual Teams meeting (!). In the end I had to use my cell phone for 3 hours via 5G. Apparently the Internet is an issue in some rooms and the hotel needs to resolve this! A good Internet connectivity should be standard for hotels in this category
