Hotel's Favorite
Aqua Blu is a beautiful hotel successfully melding ultra-modern and industrial interior design in an iconic building close to everything downtown with great amenities and a good restaurant. It's starting to show small signs of wear and tear, like some signage a bit askew and a reading light on a bed's headboard that wouldn't stay on, but it remains my favorite hotel that I can afford to stay at.

Have been here a few previous visits. I feel the hotel cleanliness, attentiveness and class has declined. There is a teal two star feel to what should be a four star experience. The upkeep on the hotel is disappointing. Many amenities are in disrepair and or dirty. Many of the staff are under trained and to be candid - low class.

My room was dirty. Didn't get checked in until 640pm... they said housekeeping was short staff... no compensation for the late check in. Very upset with the room, sheets and pillows had lipstick on it.. floor was dirty, hair everywhere. Only thing good was the balcony.

It is unfortunate that upon your arrival the hotel does not communicate to you clearly that if you do not request the cleaning of your room they will never do it. And that the reception staff themselves mention that this policy of not cleaning, only at the request of the guest is generating many complaints with their guests.

Let me preface this with this: this isn't the first time I have stayed here. But it was most certainly a most disappointing experience. On the day of my arrival, traveling in from Canada, my room wasn't ready until after 5 pm. Fortunately, they have checked luggage service, but the room was severely delayed. The outdoor patio was not open until my last night of a 6 day stay. The lobby bar closed every day early at around 10 pm. The outdoor hot tub wasn't filled until day 3. The light in the hot tub kept falling out. The bottom was constantly covered on dirt. The indoor hot tub was insanely hot. Due to the fact this hotel is shared with condos, the hot tubs always had small rowdy children in them. Apparently, they travel in groups of 4. Housekeeping to your room in on demand. On day 4, I had to call and ask for toilet paper. They don't even check basic amenities. When I got back, it still wasn't sent. Thank goodness for kleenex. And went downstairs and addressed again. When I returned, my room on day 5 was cleaned, towels and finally tp. The lady at the reception, not Jasmin... said they only have 7 house keepers for a hotel that is over 500 rooms. 1 maintenance person. I know hiring is rough, but this was not good. Chalo (at the restaurant) and Jasmin ( front desk) were wonderful. They made my day every time I saw them. Kind,polite, and courteous. Team members like Jasmin and Chalo are a gift. They are the people we want to return to. They make our stay better. …

The stay was fine but the bug bites was not in our favor. After my husband being bit up early in the night we pretty much was over the whole trip to Chicago. We really do not know if it was from the lobby chairs or the room itself. I just think to spend almost 300.00 plus another 59.00 for parking the place should be bug free period.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here, the room was spacious yet comfortable and we had an awesome corner room with a wraparound balcony providing amazing views of the city. This hotel is also in perfect walking distances from all the major places in the city. The staff was very friendly and willing to help anytime it was needed. Highly recommend this hotel for your Chicago visit!

The hotel was great. But, the random charges and taxes are a bit much. We were charged an Urban Fee of 25.00 a day for the 3rd floor amendies that we did not even use. And there is a state tax of 12.9% and a city tax of 4.5%, Really? Like REALLY?

Spent 5 nights here. Service was great. Location was perfect. It was easy walking distance to Michigan Ave. but not too close to feel crowded. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar area. We had a great view of the park.
