Marriott Titanium. Had a weekend staycation with the wife. If I could choose again, I would have picked another property. Good hard product, below average soft product. Pros: - Location: We live in the city so it was nice to stay in a different part, the Financial District, which is very quiet during the weekend. - The Florentine (on-site restaurant): The food is very good, but the staff at the restaurant is amazing. We ate 3 meals there bc room service is not being offered at this time and the staff was amazing the entire time. They deserve 5 stars. - Rooms: Recently updated rooms. Cons: You know how you can tell the weekend is going to go as soon you deal with check in? That was this situation. - Titanium benefits: The least you can do is acknowledge my loyalty. Lounge is closed, which I understand due to Covid, but 1k points instead of offering a breakfast instead is something I would expect from a Residence Inn or Courtyard. - Requests not followed up: Asked for run of the mill things (water, extra pillows) to be sent up, but required follow up calls and requests to get them. - Front of house staff: I got the feeling that they did not want to be there. I know that the hotel industry is strange right now with Covid and uncertainties. However, I would think that when they do get a guest with loyalty they would make a bit of an effort to make them feel more welcome. If this is how the hotel operates now, I would expect the same during normal times. The restaurant is giving this hotel an average stay vs below average. I will not be back.

Located just a few blocks from Union Station and in the heart of downtown Chicago the JW Marriott provides an island of peace in a turbulent world. Staff were friendly and engaged. The room was large and spotless. Everyone was practicing covid guidelines. The only negative was that the hotel lobby bar was closed.

We made a mistake of booking another hotel so we called the JW Marriott and Front desk supervisor Katie was there to the rescue.. The hotel was beautiful and she also gave us a beautiful suite which was amazing for my family and I .. Thank you so much Katie .. The location was quiet.. Staff was friendly.. The overall hotel was clean . Thanks again Katie Michael F

Not sure why I chose to stay at this location. Any other Marriott offers complimentary breakfast and afternoon happy hour to their clients that use SPG/Marriott points. Not here. Was told my room was upgraded to a California King bed.... no chance this bed is a CA king. A few little extras go a long way with a long time customer, whether points are used or not. Not sure I would stay here again.

My wife and I took the train into Chicago for a long weekend, we stayed at the JW Marriott. Its only 3 blocks from Union Station so it was a quick walk. We arrived at the Hotel at 1030 am. We knew it was early for check in so we asked the Front desk if they could hold our bags until check in. I was surprised when she said, (I could just check us in.) My thought wow thank you we didn't want to carry our bags around town for the day. The staff were accommodating, friendly, and very knowledgeable about where places are in town.
