We stayed in North Harbor Tower for 5 weeks via Manilow Suites while our house was renovated. We had a 3 bedroom apartment with parking. The building staff was excellent (we had a snafu at check-in, so there was 20 minutes of panic to start the whole endeavor, but after that we never had any issues) and the Manilow staff was responsive. I'm overall giving it 5 stars, but nothing is perfect. So here are some of the negatives we encountered. *our original assigned parking space was occupied by another car. So we were assigned a different space, but our car couldn't fit in it when the next car was parked. Etc. Finally after 4 days and 5 spaces we were assigned a space that worked. And then twice we found notices on our car that it would be towed for being in the wrong space, even though it wasn't. *we had been told weekly housekeeping and paper goods replenishment. Apparently this should have been bi-weekly, and the first service was skipped. *It would have been helpful to get more information at check in - things like how to get to the pool, how to use the mailroom, the restaurant pop ups in the lobby, the existence of a convenience store (which I learned of 3 days before checkout), etc The doorman explained some of them, but he was giving us so much information all at once and we assumed it would be referenced in the written materials (it wasn't). *a "fully stocked" kitchen means different things to different people! the knives were incredibly dull, and we had to ask for a bunch of pretty standard things to be added (and had to buy a few other things ourselves). If you expect the kitchen to be equipped at the level of "business person needs to reheat leftovers and eat cereal" you will be pleasanlty surprised. If you are expecting "family of 4 will cook every meal" you will need to augment some things. *the mailroom hours were very limited, so getting packages was really hard. Those quibbles are pretty minor, however, given that we had a clean, comfortable, well furnished, apartment for 5 weeks for less than the cost of an airbnb. Oh, and, obviously -- the views are insane. Simply outstanding. My kids would just sit and stare out at the lake or onto lake shore drive for long stretches of time.…
I've used Manilow Suites several times over the past 4 to 5 years and have never been disappointed. The staff as well as the accommodations have been top tier every time. Each location was equipped in a way to make the stay stress free. Whenever I need a place in Chicago, my first call is always Manilow Suites.
This company advertises “beautifully furnished, luxurious, and elegant suites” for rent. I rented a one bedroom apartment from them in Chicago, and the apartment was in no way close to being luxurious, elegant or beautifully furnished. I paid top dollar for this apartment and was extremely disappointed. When I first arrived the cable TV was not connected, and I had WiFi issues for the first five days. I made multiple requests to the Manilow team before receiving a response. When the cable was finally installed the streaming service was sporadic. I tried to stream movies and over and over again the movie would stop and just churn. The apartment itself was cheaply furnished with a linoleum floor. Initially there was no rug, no counter chairs and no chairs on the balcony. After complaining, they did bring a small rug, 2 counter chairs and ONE chair for the balcony. The apartment in general was very sterile, with not one picture on the very white walls. The windows of the apartment were filthy dirty and were not cleaned for my entire stay. A large piece of linoleum was peeling away and was not fixed until the day before my departure. I was told that my monthly rent would include weekly housekeeping. That didn’t happen. I was there for one month and the apartment was cleaned just two times. My experience with Manilow Suites was extremely upsetting & disapointing.…
I stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment for a long weekend. The location is PERFECT along the lake and CLOSE to the river. You can walk to almost anything you would want to do in Chicago-museums, Navy Pier, Grant/Millennium Park, theaters, the Riverwalk, shopping and dining. The unit was nicely appointed and had great views. I can't wait to head back there for another weekend.
My son was scheduled for a college internship in Chicago this summer. But in light of the developing pandemic and all of the uncertainty I was looking for a short term rental that would allow cancellations in the event the internship was cancelled or Chicago was still on stay at home orders. Every VRBO/Apartments.com/Homeaway...lister that I spoke to would not relax their 48-hour cancellation policy. Except Manilow Suites. Francine and her team are the most honest, forthright and flexible team you could hope to work with. Their property is beautiful and conveniently located. And while we ultimately did have to cancel, I promise you that this is the type of organization that I will do business with again and again.
The good-- wonderful location; nice building; outstanding doormen; nice views of the lake, navy pier and downtown (depending on room location), wonderful cleaning staff that provided weekly service The not good-- poor service from manilow staff ( my dryer did not work and due to poor communication it took over 1 week to have a working dryer) ; at check in i was told to be at the facility at 1 pm and did not have room available until 4 pm; the bathrooms are substandard with one shower so small that you could barely fit in it; mimimilist furniture and low-end featureless appliances; At the end of my visit, I wrote an email to management ( I had previously had a face-to-face meeting with them) that summarized the issues during my 1 month stay and requesting a review of their charges and a credit for the problems i experienced. I received a letter with a $300 check, less than 5%, and a statement that they considered the matter closed. Again, very poor customer service, as a phone call to me would have been the appropriate venue to address my visit. My stay was in July, 2019 and I was not sure that I wanted to post this review. In the end, it was their poor approach to my problems that I thought fellow travelers should hear. Of course, Manilow will simply state that I was an unreasonable customer and I was impossible to please . You be the judge and be cautious.…
My husband and I are retired and live in Central Illinois. As much as we love our small city, we like to balance life with short stays in Chicago. Our favorite resource for this is Manilow Suites. They provide short term stays in beautiful high rises in he loop and by the lake. For example, North Harbor Tower is quiet, scenic, safe and close to Pritzker Pavilion and Millennium Park. It's so much fun to walk to the park and hear free and fabulous music, including the Grant Park Symphony and Chorus. We love to go to jazz venues, on boat rides, visit friends and walk. Our space included a stocked kitchen, bedroom, nice furniture. Manilow provides space for us to spend several weeks in Chicago in summer or anytime during the year. Check it out!
My experience working with Manilow Team has been nothing short of exceptional. This group concretely understands what it means to go beyond meeting to exceeding expectations. My family and I were blown away with the meticulous attention to detail, and I mean every thing from an extra blow up mattress we needed to the blenders and rice cookers. We lacked for nothing and this made our transition from the east coast to Chicago completely seamless and .....STRESS FREE!! I would highly recommend working with this team for any and all of your corporate/ executive relocation needs. Outstanding service!
Unbelievable view of Navy Pier and River North, Across the street from the Bean, Art Institute and Maggie Daley park. A short walk to any sight. The staff was fantastice. The room was outstanding. Big, Clean and comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone who comes to Chicago for a weekend or longer. I cannot wait to go back.
We needed a place to stay while we were having some work completed on our condominium, and Francine Manilow and her excellent staff including Dennis and Amanda could not have been more accommodating to my family and me. I would recommend highly Manilow to anyone looking for an apartment at the North Harbor Tower or Presidential Tower that they serve.
