My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Royal sonesta Chicago river north . We were greeted and well taken care of by Sarah and Antwoine . Sarah gave us lots of suggestions of areas to visit since we were out of towners and she had a wonderful welcoming presence . We felt at home with her and we’re so grateful that she was our first interaction at the hotel . Antwoine was amazing as well ! He went out of his way to walk us to a nearby dining destination since we were unsure of exactly where to go . He helped us with our bags and consistently offered his assistance whenever we saw him in the hotel , this made for a wonderful experience. Sarah and Antwoine were so great and we will be back to stay again very soon !

From the minute we arrived, the hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. They checked us in many hours early and upgraded our room to a suite for our family of four. The hotel is in a great location for walking to sites such as Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and Michigan Avenue. Not to mention the hotel’s very stylish, modern decor. Thank you Sonesta!

Location, location, location!!! Close to so many things. We had a car, but walked to many attractions/shopping. Our room was comfortable and we asked for and we’re provided a small refrigerator which was appreciated. Front desk staff was nice and accommodating. But, Bell man Antwonne stole the show. We looked forward to returning each day just to see him. He made us feel like family and gave us lots of good suggestions. He is a gem!

Booked a room for a very special friend and I We were greeted warmly by Liss and Sarah. Received a special treat of an upgrade to a deluxe suite. The memory we had was so much more enhanced. These 2 ladies made us feel special from the moment we arrived till the morning we checked out. We will definately go back there and recommends this hotel very highly. Employees that make guests feel as special as they did deserve to be recognized by their managers-as top notch employees and should be proud to have them on their staff.

Sarah is AMAZING! The hotel was great too- comfy bed, nice pool, convenient location, cool bar…. BUT Sarah….. she makes the place. A MILLION STARS! Coffee service in the morning is nice. Felt safe with 24hr security and concierge. All around a great experience. But again, SARAH just made my trip.

Service from checkin through checkout was very good! The room was clean. Beyond that, the hotel relies on a long past “luxury” rating/reputation. The decor is dated, furnishings in lobby & rooms are showing wear. Lobby is underwhelming and the hotel entrance grubby. No special amenities that one would expect for the luxury price paid (we expected, at minimum, coffee in the room). We were quite disappointed with our overall experience. The River North area and the hotel have lost their luster. If you have a choice in selecting hotels, pass on this Sonesta hotel and location.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were good and clean. The location is a good one and overall very quiet and low key experience which I did enjoy. However, the beds were not comfortable at all and the bathroom doors are sliding doors, they don’t offer much privacy. Parts of the wall paper are peeling as well. There is no room service and the attached restaurant had a limited menu.

The bed was comfortable, but the door was broken to the bathroom and the air didn’t work very well. The bell man, Antwonne was FANTASTIC. He did more for us than the front desk. He gave us directions and gave us suggestions for dining and was just really helpful.

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms were a great size, the hotel was spotlessly clean and the location was fantastic! My teenage daughter particularly loved the pool and rooftop area. What makes this hotel really special though, are the staff. Special mention to Antwonne who we chatted to every day and who was so friendly and helpful. Also to Sarah on the front desk. Staff like these are an absolute asset to any hotel and should be applauded. And if you are considering a trip to Chicago, just go! It’s a beautiful city, stunning architecture everywhere you look. And you won’t go wrong if you stay at the Royal Sonesta River North.

The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the room was attractive and comfortable. But staff made our stay the best we’ve ever had, and we stay at a lot of hotels! Sarah at the front desk was so kind and gave great advice for local restaurants and attractions. Antwonne the bellman became a new friend, who we’re so glad we met! This was our first trip to Chicago, but it’s safe to say we’ll be back - and we will definitely stay at the Royal Sonesta again!
