If you are looking for an incredible hospitality experience, you need to stay at the Villa D’Citta. It’s a hidden gem with so much historic ambiance. Beyond just the breathtaking property, the amenities are clean, gorgeously designed, and made us feel so homely. The cherry on top of the experience, was Brooke herself. She was caring, charismatic, helpful, attentive, and organized, I could go on about her but I just hope everyone who stays here has the pleasure of being taken care of by Brooke.

Loved the location and entrance of the home. Once we entered things changed. Elevator has been out of service since July, making us carry our luggage. ( handrails were very loose going up to second floor. Our room needed the following: lightbulbs for light on nightstand. Instructions to operate the fireplace, the bed pillow were so thin, you could tie them in a knot. We requested extra towels, took two days to receive them. It is advertised afternoon wine. We were told the wine dispenser was not working, waiting for delivery? There is a liquor store down the street. You would think the mgr would buy a few bottles for the quests. The final straw was when We witnessed the two staff member having a beer by the hot tub. We really wanted to love the Villa, just very disappointed.

Caesar’s Lair Don’t book the Caesar’s Lair unless you like sleeping in a morgue, It’s freezing and no natural light. We paid $395 per night to stay in a dungeon-like room. The main entry is right above so you hear everyone walking in and out on a hardwood floor. If you are here on a Monday there is no breakfast, also no personalized custom breakfast as advertised, it’s dry eggs, bland potatoes and greasy bacon, oh and terrible coffee. The elevator has been broken since at least July so plan on hauling your luggage up the stairs, so ADA guests are out of luck. It would be great if they invested in some pillows instead of buying more antiques. Now the positive, beautiful historic home in a great neighborhood. Bottom line don’t book a room on hotel.com, call the place directly and inquire about what you are getting yourself into. Not worth $395 per night

It’s 2am and the cleaning crew is downstairs yelling at each other and dragging stuff around. party guests were screaming at each other until around 1am. I’m not sure how they could book us a room and not tell us there was a party scheduled. It’s just a big house, not some soundproof hotel. They just don’t care. Find someplace else to stay.

We were looking for a place near our son Dan who moved to Lakeview, so didn’t want to stay downtown. This B & B far exceeded our expectations & reminded us of a villa we stayed at in the heart of Tuscany! Rooms were beautiful & Kitchen accessible to all with breakfast food & panini meats readily available in the huge Sub Zero. Rodrigo cooked breakfast on weekend & keeps the place very clean. Brooke was the best hostess - we found out our flight home was canceled (due to Hurricane Henri) & she was incredibly kind to help us to accommodate the situation - allowing us to enjoy an extra day with our son as the flight left later that night! We undoubtedly will be staying here again next time we visit our youngest son!
