Hidden behind the modest facade of this Chicago greystone lies a true taste of the Italian architecture and style. The Villa D' Citta is a Chicago premier owner occupied residential rental that is nestled in the heart of the city's trendy Lincoln Park neighborhood. The Villa offers an old world comfort and unparalleled luxury, steps away from Chicago’s number one boutique shopping district, along with some of the best dining and nightlife the city has to offer.

We stayed on a Sunday night in late September. I loved the place itself, loved the bedroom and separated bath, loved the common area and the hot tub upstairs was great! SO relaxing up there! I do have to say though, I wish staff have been a little bit more attentive. We were staying for one night, on a Sunday. When I called to ask about parking, they said street parking is free as long as you can find a spot, otherwise they had secure parking for $30. We found a spot right in front of the building. We looked at the permanent signs that were up and saw nothing with restrictions. The next morning we came out to a $60 parking ticket. There was literally almost a piece of paper taped around the pole that warned you about street parking. No permanent sign that most people would be looking for. Now, if you have a guest staying on a Sunday and especially for one day, when they ask about parking, why are you not telling them about street sweeping on Monday!? I could have stayed in secure parking lot and not paid that much! Chicago is not cheap in the first place and to end my trip with that was just very disappointing.

Response from Villa D' Citta, Owner at Villa D' Citta
Responded Mar 26, 2022
Jamie, we appreciate your kindness towards the Villa. We would be more than happy to make up for your loss, in your next visit to Chicago. On Brooke' behalf, she takes public transportation to and from the Villa, and was not aware of the street cleaning on Mondays, at the time. The city of Chicago changes what it does and how it does it on an ongoing basis. Once again, I would be more than happy to cover the 60$ on your next visit! :)

My wife and I spent Thursday Friday and Saturday night at the Villa about 2 weeks ago. before I leave my review I want to mention that I have stayed at some of the nicest hotels around, I regularly stay at the Wynn in Las Vegas and I've paid anywhere from $500 to $1,000 a night to stay there. Villa makes the Wynn look like Motel 6. The Villa deserves more than five stars. The proud people who own it and those who run it are outstanding at what they do and attend to every possible detail of the guests' comfort and enjoyment. It is beautifully decorated inside and out and centrally located. The kitchen downstairs has plenty of consumables in the refrigerator and in the kitchen, You can make yourself something to eat, from bacon to bagels, 24 hours a day. on weekend days there's a wonderful lady in the kitchen who makes an Italian breakfast or will make you pretty much anything that you want. I highly recommend Their videos on YouTube which set forth all of the amenities and I can't wait till we go and stay there again.

My wife and I stayed three nights here for our 10th anniversary. It was absolutely perfect for us. While we had originally booked their largest suite, the owner asked if we'd be willing to change rooms so a larger family from out of the country could utilize the single suite instead of having to be split up. It was completely our choice, and the owner didn't pressure us at all. We willingly elected to stay in the Milan Suite and it was as luxurious and comfortable, exceeding any expectations. The owner worked with us to make sure we were taken care of in response to our willingness to move.
The kitchen, grotto, and jacuzzi area were magnificent. The kitchen was filled with all that you need to make a sandwich or panini with bread, meats, and cheeses from local markets. The prepared breakfasts on Friday and Saturday were an added plus.
The area around the b&b was quiet, particularly compared to being downtown. We enjoyed walking to the Lincoln Park Zoo and observatory, both of which are free. We ate at several local restaurants, and were particularly fond of our experience at Chez Moi.
Don and his staff were wonderful. The only thing we think would have improved our stay would be a small refrigerator in the room so we could store beverages or leftovers closer than the kitchen. This, however, was not an inconvenience that made our stay less enjoyable.
Our visit at Villa D'Citta exceeded our high expectations and we cannot wait to return.

We stayed a few weeks ago at this charming Bed & Breakfast as a mini get away to meet up with out of town family. Upon arrival, we were greeted with Italian red wine & cold lemon water as we explored the great Italian decor around us. They have a wonderful big great room & beautiful patio where we played games and chatted most of the day & night. All the rooms were booked, so we had the opportunity to mingle with other guests, who seemed to be as happy as we were staying here. All the rooms are different. Our room was amazing, but my cousin's room had a spa bathroom with beautiful sunken tub. I plan to stay in that room next. We did use the rooftop hot tub - it was delightful, although it only had seats on one side, so choose your seat location wisely if you are short - they had complimentary robes, so that was nice. For the morning, we did request a hot breakfast which was prepared by the hostess at 8:30 am. I believe you need to request this though. Either way, our stay was wonderful, slept great, staff was attentive & our stay was comfortable & clean. Decor is luxurious, but vibe is laid back.

My daughter and I stayed for three nights in the Florencia suite. While the building itself is beautiful, I think there are issues with the execution. Staff (only one person?) seems to be onsite only 9-4. Our room was on the upper (4th) floor and the elevator was broken (would cost $8k to fix, so unsure of when that would happen). There is no "housekeeping" "because of Covid" so the room was not cleaned - the bathroom shower and sink counter were moldy - a shot of bleach would have fixed it. That said, the kitchen was lovely and it was nice to be able to make our own breakfast with eggs in the fridge. There was no wine tap, and no mention of pizza made to order never mind the panini makings.. I would not be so critical of a place that charged less than $350 a night ..... for this price I expect the services that the website promotes.

What a tremendous facility Villa D'Citta is. My wife and I met three friends for a 5-day sightseeing visit in Chicago. After a lot of research we chose VD'C based on its outstanding reviews and location (near Lincoln Park, excellent restaurants, safety, etc.). From our initial greeting (by Donald) to our fantastic breakfasts (by Rosa), all five days were relaxing and enjoyable. Our rooms (Florencia, Milan and Venetian) were beautiful and comfortable. We received great feedback from both sets of friends as to how happy they were with VD'C. I recommend Villa D'Citta without hesitation to anyone seeking a wonderful lodging experience in Chicago.

If you are looking for something rather special, in a up and coming neighbourhood, this is the plaice for you. The villa is absolutely immaculate, with stunning decor and great amenities. It’s a top class, boutique bed and breakfast, that makes you feel extremely welcome. Don, the owner, goes above and beyond, to make you feel at home. The kitchen is stocked with all sorts of goodies, for you to help yourself, no matter what time of the day. There’s an stunning little back terrace, with seating area and a elevated sun deck with hot tub, above the garage. It’s a lovely place, for a glass of wine after a long day in the city. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly and will most definitely stay again, on our next visit to Chicago

We were looking for a place near our son Dan who moved to Lakeview, so didn’t want to stay downtown. This B & B far exceeded our expectations & reminded us of a villa we stayed at in the heart of Tuscany! Rooms were beautiful & Kitchen accessible to all with breakfast food & panini meats readily available in the huge Sub Zero. Rodrigo cooked breakfast on weekend & keeps the place very clean. Brooke was the best hostess - we found out our flight home was canceled (due to Hurricane Henri) & she was incredibly kind to help us to accommodate the situation - allowing us to enjoy an extra day with our son as the flight left later that night! We undoubtedly will be staying here again next time we visit our youngest son!

Villa D' Citta is a fantastic B&B in the heart of Lincoln Park. Great location surrounded by excellent restaurants and unique bars. An easy 5 minute walk to two train stations to get to downtown shopping, shows and eats. Our host, Don was very responsive via text and Jan had a delicious breakfast (and good conversation) ready for us each morning. The Grand Tuscan Suite was huge with a comfy 4-poster bed, steam shower and massive jacuzzi tub. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Chicago.

Hi there. Yes, street parking is available just outside the Villa. It is free and not metered, but of course as street parking it is catch a catch can. We also have 2 reserved parking spots at the back of the Villa. The cost is $25 per night and we give guests a garage door opener so that they may have unlimited in-and-out privileges during their stay with us. The garage is available on a first-come first served basis, and so some guests reserve one of the spots when they make their reservation.
Kind regards,
Cathy
Hi there, During the week a one night stay is absolutely fine. On the weekends though we do have a multiple night minimum. When were you looking to stay with us at the Villa? Feel free to call for more details at 312-771-0696.
Kind regards,
Cathy

Hi there. We have guests that stay with us at the Villa and then attend an event at the United Center. You can get to the United Center via cab or public transportation, and the trip would be about 18 minutes or so.

There are stairs, relatively steep, but there is also a small elevator that will fit one person and a bag or two. But if you have a wheelchair or walker, it probably wouldn't fit
There are more places to choose from in the Chicago area.
