First time in Chicago, taking train trip west, so we had 2 nights and 1 day in the area. Our host Dave was extremely helpful, we arrived late on Saturday evening so he helped us find an excellent restaurant that was open later and even drove us down!

He gave us the Mayor’s room which was large and very interesting. Dave also gave us history of the neighborhood which gave us a local vibe.

We also had the Gospel Buffet on Sunday morning, the food was excellent and the music was vey good. Once again a unique vibe of locals and visitors seemed to attend.

Can’t leave out Martin either who got our bags to our room and was our waiter during brunch…(Order the eggs Benedict for a unique tradition, we got to witness!)

When we come back to Chicago we will stay here longer

We had an amazing time in Chicago and a huge part of that was Dave and his B&B. 5 adults had no trouble sharing the Sox Suite. Breakfast was amazing every morning and when it's time for lunch or dinner, there are some great restaurants very close by. Dave and his staff are very knowledgeable about the area and didn't miss on any recommendations they provided. Definitely heading back when I'm in Chicago again!

Great personal service and cooked-to-order breakfast by the wonderful proprietors. Very spacious and comfortable rooms (I has a two room suite). Although the McCormick Place Convention Center where I was attending a conference is 4 miles away, they happily dropped me to the door each morning. Amazing - thanks!

Our family of four stayed at The Polo Inn and it felt like we were staying with family or close friends. The Mayor's Suite is immaculate and feels like being at "home." The owner and manager are so personal and made sure we had everything we needed. Each morning, they asked what we were up to and gave us tips and tricks for parking, etc.

By the way, when you stay at the B&B, you get treated to a magnificent meal, which always include their FRENCH TOAST! Wow, we've never had anything like it!

We'll be back!

My son, grandson, and I spent two (weekend) nights in the Mayor’s suite. It goes without saying that the breakfast and brunch were great (as a restaurant, the Polo Inn is ranked #1 in Chicago), but everything else was first rate, too. Our three bedroom apartment was clean and comfortable. The place must also be soundproof; the other two apartments were occupied, and we never heard a peep or a squeak from them, or the restaurant below. What especially sets this place at the top of our B & B experience(s), however, is Dave, the innkeeper. For the last 40 or-so years he has developed this neighborhood establishment into a refined and friendly place. Plus, if you’re lucky enough to attend his Gospel Brunch on Sunday (10 to 2), he will regale you with classic songs in his rich baritone voice.

The Polo Inn is three apartments over the wonderful Polo Inn Restaurant in their vintage 1914 building. The rooms are done up to be memorable and comfortable, but what makes the Polo Inn is Dave and Kevin. Kevin was an amazing host who made me feel welcome and comfortable in my suite. Room was clean and tidy and the amenities--a small kitchen with fridge are lovely. The breakfast they serve is out of this world. Bridgeport is close to the White Sox stadium, and the neighborhood around the Polo Inn is growing with new places to eat and explore. Close enough to downtown to make it very accessible to the Chicago sites, but also with a neighborhood feel. Will definitely stay there again!

I game with a group of peers for a violin performance, and it was a great experience. The rooms are cozy and a bit old, but very clean. The toilet didn't flush properly at first, but was promptly fixed. The beds are great. The food is amazing, and I especially like the creme brulee french toast and the mushroom pizza. The people are very welcoming and friendly, and the owner of the place, Dave, was very kind, and even let me play the organ! It was a great experience, and I recommend over any large fancy hotel because of the cozy, home style experience.

We went to the Gospel brunch with friends on a Sunday. We loved it! The food was great and the music was wonderful. The room was beautiful and even with the music we could still have a good conversation. It is BYOB and the restaurant provides mixers. So we all enjoyed mimosas. Service was friendly and attentive. We stayed over two hours and felt welcome to stay. Parking lot and street parking. Great experience. Don’t miss it!

We came in for one night to go to a White Sox game. I usually stay in the loop and take the red line down. Well... Lala going on at the same time made it tough to find a good deal in the loop. This found me on a major booking site, and it was a great option. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. It was a mile walk to the game. The owner offered to give us a ride but the walk was no problem. The room had free water and soda too. Only thing I wish it had was a microwave.

The free parking really adds to the value. It made going to a Sox game very easy. It was nice to not battle parking.

We will be back.

Clean, large unit, comfortable bed, very quiet and complimentary breakfast was delish. Owner was very nice with a flexible check-in. Tip - walk to Halstead (few blocks away) for the best options on food and beverages.
