Travelers' Choice
Once home to an Italian-American cheesemaking company and, before that, a pair of mysterious brothers, Ace Hotel Chicago lives in a stoic, industrial brick building in Chicago's West Loop. With 159 Bauhaus-inspired rooms, a top-floor terrace, a really good restaurant by Team Giant and other wonderful things, Ace Chicago is built as a testament to the city's spirit of ingenuity, reinvention, and design.

I guess it was fun to have more of a hipster vibe than the normal chain hotel. Maybe it’s nicer apart from the pandemic. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was very tight and the shower sprayed outside on the floor.. oh well. It was very convenient to the Google offices, and had plenty of eating options nearby.

I've stayed at Ace for both business and pleasure. Can't beat the space, amenities, location, and style. Shantae at the front desk was a gem and was a massive help during my stay. Couldnt be happier with the staff and experience.

I stayed at this hotel during my business trip. The walked in early afternoon hoping to get an early check-in but no one was at the front desk. The hotel itself was dark and gloomy. One guy was vacuuming the lobby. I left and came back after an hour and finally saw someone at the front desk. I was informed right away that nothing in the hotel was open that evening - no coffee shop, no bars, nothing. I didn't see anyone else in the lobby or the building. The entire place felt very lonely, sad, and uncomfortable. It was a waste of money to stay there and was surprised that this was allegedly a 4 star hotel! I would never stay there again.

We loved The ACE! It has a great lo-tech chic ambiance, REALLY comfortable beds, spacious rooms, a great coffee shop in the lobby, a huge and comfortable lobby, terrific staff and fabulous location. We were there working at an art fair nearby but would happily go back for a romantic getaway.

Recently stayed at the ACE Hotel Chicago for (1) night and found the lobby to be modern and trendy, and the surrounding neighborhood to offer a variety of dining options. The front desk staff was friendly, but valet parking was completely full and they suggested we park on the street. The guest room felt like an overpriced dorm room and the linens were not very comfortable. There was also a lot of activity in the lobby and out front of the hotel, which made the overall visit feel hectic. Overall, not worth price we paid for the room.

Hi Adam, Thanks for your review. We apologize that your stay wasn't up to the high standards we hold ourselves to here at Ace. I can understand how frustrating it can be to not have valet parking available to you. Unfortunately, space in our garage is extremely limited, so valet parking is on a first come, first served basis. There are several self-parking options in the immediate area, including street and garage parking directly across from the hotel. At Ace properties around the world, each property is designed to reflect the city and neighborhoods we plant our flag in. As such, sometimes the décor isn't everyone's cup of tea. We'll take your input to improve future guest stays! We hope you'll give us another shot, and we look forward to having you again.
