My wife and I stayed here for the first time June 3-8, 2021. Our son lives just two blocks away with a newborn so it was very convenient. It's a great location with many good restaurants within walking distance. The area (Printers Row) is increasingly popular. When our car pulled up in front we got a warm, friendly, greeting from the door man who asked us if we needed help and politely asked us to put on our masks. Check in was prompt. I had called the day before, probably too late) to ask for a high floor with a nice view. We got a room on the 11th floor but facing another building. This was our first disappointment but I probably should have made the request sooner. We got a beautiful modern room with plenty of electrical outlets and USB ports everywhere. The bathroom is modern with the latest in showers (barn door style shower), spout type taps, and lighted mirrors. There are no directions or information cards (covid-issue?) anywhere so we could not figure out how to set the lighted mirror. It would often go dark on us. There were nice soap and shampoo tubes but not enough for two people staying five days. I had to go to the desk to ask for more toiletries. You would think they would replenish regularly. Towels were great and ample. The second day I noticed a damp spot near the toilet. I thought perhaps it was leaking but I couldn't tell. The next day or so I stepped on a small wet puddle on the bathroom threshold and of course I was wearing socks. I would suggest housekeeper makes sure these little puddles get dried up after cleaning. Other than these issues housekeeping was excellent. There is a coffee urn in the lobby but it was awful. It tastes like the kind you get out of those big coffee makers that people rent for picnics. Cream, sugar etc came packed along with stir sticks. The creamer is powdered and even using two packages the coffee was still very dark. Luckily there is a Starbucks just across the street where we got our coffee. There is an attached restaurant - Meli - which serves good food. If you are concerned with safety please note that although there is usually a door man at the front, people can get access to the hotel through the restaurant. There are homeless people around like any big city but they were well-behaved, no problems. Price for room was fair and I will stay again.

This was a hotel room (which we knew before booking). As such, it was incredibly spacious and clean (bathroom, bedroom and even work out room). We were delighted. This was NOT a multi-room accommodation and had no kitchen (which was fine). Terrific cafe on the ground floor. Free coffee in lobby. Exceptional location near public transportation and easy to walk or bike to popular spots.

Wonderful location, beautiful room, but it is like a upscale hotel, not a ts. Didn't have w/d or separate rooms. The staff is remarkable. Very patient and have many recommendations for tourist attractions. I had a problem with the ac in my room the last night. It became a heater instead of an ac Nancy moved me to the room across the hall which was working properly as I have health issues. Lots to do in the area.

We'd stayed a week in 2017, but were surprised & delighted this visit to see their just-remodeled lobby & rooms now more airy & elegant. We again found staff super friendly & helpful: thanks Howard & Tim at Guest Svcs and Ron & Andrew at the door for making us feel truly valued. Addtl evidence of caring were all the COVID-precautions everywhere in the hotel. Nice touches included the complimentary morning coffee bar in the lobby and the ability to store luggage if one arrives too early for chk-in or has hours to wait for a flight after chkg out. It added 2 extra half-days of sightseeing for us. Meli Cafe onsite still offers tasty, huge breakfasts, so the fridge & microwave in the room allowed us to enjoy leftovers. Just sorry they now close at 2:30, as we'd enjoyed Happy Hour there previously. Many family-owned restaurants & historic bldgs (check out Harold Washington Library exhibits & The Rookery) just a short stroll away, as well as the subway station. One caution, which the hotel can't control is loud street noise well into the wee hours, especially motorcycle-cruising, so pack noise-cancelling gear. We did very much appreciate not being solicited for a timeshare presentation either visit here.
