Gold level suite with club lounge access and We are know platinum Accor level upon checking out! What a mistake giving another dime to a hotel chain that has consistently fallen well below the minimum of expectations. We earned most of our status points to achieve platinum from a month earlier at the Fairmont Qn Elizabeth in Montreal (reviewed earlier). Room looked tired...sheets thin and wrinkled, mattress pad formed a speed bump in the middle of the bed under the thin well used sheets. I adjusted the sheets and remade my bed and went to bathroom to wash my face before heading to grab a bite. I noticed that there were no shower gels anywhere and would request some later but for now used a bar of soap. Le Labo products are beautiful! I turned to dry my face on the long bath towel hanging next to bathtub and dried my face. As I opened my eyes, there was a huge dark fresh skid mark on the inside of the towel. I put my shirt on and carried the towel down to front desk. Horrified, they apologized. I told them about the lack of shower gel and they said they no longer have it. There was no welcome gift no welcome drink and the club lounge was only slightly better than the Fairmont in Montreal...which us not saying much! I cut people a lot of slack during pandemic but this is unacceptable at this time.…
Dirty room, rude staff, no fridge (just a mini bar fridge that has no room for you), overpriced, and the catered food for our meeting was disgusting and not in tune with our schedule.... Will never stay here again and suggest you don't stay here or use it for meetings.
We stayed on the Gold Floor of the Fairmont for 5 nights. The hotel was well situated and the rooms were lovely. However, we enjoyed Mandana’s warm welcome every morning in the Gold Lounge. She made sure we had all we needed and she has such a warm and friendly demeanour. Thank you for making our stay so perfect.
We stayed here for 6 nights. We chose to upgrade to the Gold Level and stayed on the 16th floor. The view from the room was awesome. The hospitality displayed by Mandana and Gesus at the Gold Lounge was top notch. They were very attentive to details and were friendly and helpful.
The Fairmont Chicago is difficult to judge, especially if you transfer here for business after a splendid 3 nights private stay at The Peninsula. Nevertheless I decided to give them a 4 star rating. Here are my subjective pros and cons after a 6 nights stay in July for a conference at McCormick: Pro - very friendly and attentive staff. Moe fom breakfast at Columbus tap was one of the best servers in the past years and delivered a very personal service. Prior to our stay I was in contact with Mrs. Ramirez and she took excellent care of our requests. - Excellent location for sightseeing as well as business. Shuttle to McCormick was just around the corner. - Decent and relatively clean rooms with walk in shower. - LeLabo bathroom amenities. - Daily housekeeping service. - Great view from the upper floors towards Grant Park. Our stay partly collided with Lollapaloza and from our room on the 35th floor we could see Mettalica performing. - Speedy elevators with no wait at all. - Quiet room with no noise from the HVAC. - Correct final bill. Cons: - Shabby look of the lobby. Please get rid of that Boathouse thing! - Hallways and doors need urgent care. You will notice wear and tear. - Dated decor of the room. - Subpar to other Fairmont hotels. Would I stay here again? If the rate is ok, definitely.…
I have to say even though this hotel is a little older the service was awesome, most of the people I came into contact with were amazing. Benjamin in Valet was great he anticipated what was needed, Tiffany and a guy with glasses (sorry forgot name) at the Front desk were so helpful and check in was so fast. My breakfast server was so nice and happy he made me smile. And while service was awesome, the place is still old. There was a musty smell on the second floor but it is Summer and they are near a lake. There was a lot of dust on the window sill and you could see scratches and wear and tear. But for the value this place is totally worth it. Nothing that is not a deal breaker. Two things I had to get were firmer pillows which they had, and a fan because the AC was lower than par on getting cool and not humid. I may stay here again. I was on a high floor.…
After a long fight from the UK we arrived at the Fairmont Friendly staff great room in a good location. Two members of staff went the extra mile and are a credit to the hotel they are Henry and Benjamin.
Great location and service! A++++ Wonderful location in downtown Chicago next to Millennium Park! Lots of walkability here. Columbus Tap a good restaurant with many food options. Service is a priority thanks Fairmont!
We spent 4 nights at the Fairmont in Chicago. The hotel was excellent. We had a lovely big room that was very clean. It was serviced every day rather than at the end of stay, which appears to have become the norm elsewhere since Covid. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help with any questions or requests. It is very conveniently located and we were able to walk to all the places we wanted to see. We upgraded to the Gold Experience which provides complimentary food and drink in a private lounge. The team in the 15th floor Gold Experience lounge, particularly Mandana and Chuy (sp?), always had smiles on their faces and were happy to help! This was our first visit to Chicago and we loved it. We will go back and will definitely stay at the Fairmont again!…
I was attending a conference with Click Away and extended my stay a few extra days after the conference was over. The Fairmont honored the special rate I received for the conference. The front desk staff was amazing. Especially Olivia who went out of her way to make it easier for me when I changed rooms. The cleaning crew kept checking in with me if I needed a cleaning since I kept the do not disturb signed up. I was traveling alone and didn't need towel, bed, or cleaning services. The only reason I gave it an 8 was because I feel like the people who greeted everyone could have been a lot more friendly. Also, I think the hotel needs to have a way for their guest to purchase regular water bottles. There were so fancy expensive bottles in the room, but not just regular water. Luckily the CVS was open across the street.…
