Luckily I only stayed one night. Front desk attention and service was great, but the overall style of the hotel is outdated and old. The carpets in the rooms need to be changed ASAP, the shower/bathroom area was quite small, it felt almost European. The bed was comfortable, as were the pillows. Had breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and it was rather disappointing, the food wasn’t good. On the other hand the location is pretty great.

We always have great luck at Fairmont’s but not this time. The furniture in the rooms and the bathrooms felt very dated. No coffee maker, no house keeping unless you ask for it, no parking on site and only two pillows on a king bed (so 1 pillow each). I get it, covid precautions but this just seems excessive. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. We left and checked in to Trump International the very next morning. They had all the amenities I expect when traveling.

Check in was rocky I waved at the cameras to get there attention but it was a while before anyone assisted me. As a former front desk hotel agent I know there's alot of downtime but pay attention to the cameras. I booked a king room but we received a room with two full beds. How romantic!! After checking in I asked about the bar and massages. He told me they were closed. Bummer it's one of the reasons I booked and I would've booked somewhere else if I had known. I think I smoked 4 cigarettes over the course of two days at this hotel. I was followed in and out of the building 3 of the times I stepped out front and questioned on why I was there all of the times I reentered the building. They pretty much grilled me everytime even asking me where my mask was while my hand was on the EXIT door as I went out to smoke a cigarette. I was called over. I quickly put my mask on and offered my apologies but also as a front desk agent I know u pick your battles and ppl at the door leaving the hotel aren't your main concern anymore the ppl coming in are. After putting on my mask I told the front desk agent that the pillows in my room were dirty, there was no toilet paper... this is where he cut me off and was very dismissive. I politely said excuse me sir I'm not finished and told him I also needed a few more towels. When I returned later that night they had switched out the wrong pillows which was frustrating but I let it go. All of the pillows had pink and blue marks on them and stains of some sort. I decided to take the pillow case off all together. Big mistake. I put the cover back on when I saw what was underneath. I'll include pictures. My comforter was also dirty. And someone was banging on the walls and slamming the doors at 3 AM. I was going to let it go but I am here to visit my partner's family for the first time and after meeting one of them who is an employee here he told me it was important I wrote a review on trip advisor because ppl shouldn't b treated that way. I will be staying another night in downtown Chicago but I'm definitely checking out and going somewhere else. I felt like a second class citizen here. The operator or whoever was forwarding the calls to the front desk didn't really know what she was talking about. "Of course they had a frig for us to use" just to be forwarded to the front desk and they say "no that's not true." This is one example she also forwarded me before I could finish my sentence alot of the time lol. The customer service was overall horrible. Thank u for making my first trip to downtown Chicago memorable fairmount.

This hotel will not disappoint you. I had my room upgraded to the gold room. Which I had met the 4 amazing people in my life. They did not make you feel like a guest. So much more like family. Alexander Mcandrews, Mandana Kaydi, and Tiphani. They had the best hospitality in the world. They make you never want to leave the Fairmont chicago. Also huge shout out to Cody an amazing sweet person also. Make sure you say hi to them and for sure you will feel the same way I do as soon as you meet them.

Celebrated my birthday in Chicago and decided to stay at this hotel. Had a wonderful experience from Check in to check out. Received a room upgrade that had stunning views of Millenium Park! The door man, Barry was awesome! He helped answer any question about where to go and how to get there. Always had a smile on.
