Spent 5 nights here on vacation. Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. No housekeeping; we called the front desk every morning and asked for towels, etc. they were in our rom when we got back. Great Location. Across the street from the Riverwalk. Close to the train. Many restaurants in walking distance. Get a room with the window seat overlooking the river. Great to sit and watch all the activity.

Hotel's Favorite
There are many options when staying in Chicago but I would definitely stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco again. First, the location is great if you're looking to stay in the heart of the city. It's located off the river and it's near plenty of restaurants and shopping. It does tend to get pretty busy outside with tourist but that wasn't an issue for the 4 days I was there. The staff was extremely friendly from the doormen to the front desk. Special thank you to Caroline for being so friendly and helpful. The lobby is a decent size and furnished nicely. I had a King River View room. The room was nice overall and clean. The bed was comfortable and I liked the shower. Unfortunately the view was lackluster, I could barely see the river from my window. To be fair when I checked in the front desk did tell me I could possibly switch rooms if I was unhappy after my first night but I didn't even mention I was disappointed with the view. Also, floors did have a lot of dips in weird spots and the carpet could have used a good cleaning but it wasn't horrible by any means. Due to Covid the hotel is only doing housekeeping by request which I didn't mind at all. The valet is around $65 a day but does include in and out privileges. I think it's good if you're going to be going in and out all day. I only rented a car for 2 days and used a parking garage around the corner which was about $15 for 12 hours but it didn't have in and out privileges.

This is a perfect classic hotel in Downtown Chicago. We experienced excellent service with a very friendly and welcoming staff. The location is great, just a few steps south of the Chicago River in between State Street and Michigan Avenue. Our room was very comfortable room with a nice view. We had an awesome lunch at the on site restaurant, Fisk & Co. We highly recommend this hotel when visiting Downtown Chicago.

I mainly picked this hotel so I could use my IHG points, but WOW! I will definitely stay here again! The vibe is very “modern chic,” and even though the room is small (you will understand if you’ve stayed at other boutique hotels), it’s very well laid out. I went to a spa that morning, and the shower at Hotel Monaco was equivalent, if not superior to the spa! The amenities were very nice; I felt they were salon-quality. I will probably take note of the brand so I can get some for my shower at home. The hotel is centrally located, and the whole staff is welcoming and friendly! I don’t usually hang out at a hotel restaurant (I like to see the city), but this Time I did! I even went back! The bartender and servers were so friendly… I even stayed and had another glass of wine at the bar, even though they had free wine in the lobby, LOL! Stay here, you won’t regret it!

I was here on a work trip at the beginning of August. Ronald was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable on everything going on in the city. He truly goes above and beyond to make guest feel right at home. I wanted to know where the locals hung out and what typically goes on in the city beyond the tourist attractions and he made sure that I got all of that information. He even took the liberty of creating me a little cheat sheet with the addresses of the places in case I forgot. He made me feel like I had a friend in a city that I had never even been to before. He also followed up with me the next day to see if I enjoyed any of the suggested places. The hotel was really clean and tailored to exactly what we were looking for during our trip, but again, the highlight of this trip was the exceptional staff. Thanks Ronald for making sure that I had everything that I needed during my stay! Never change!
