The hotel is in the Reliance Building, which was built in the 1890s and has been fully refurbished. Several floors (the top floors) have marble walls in the hallways and other fixtures from the original building. (There was a phone on a small table in the hallway that looked like it was from the early 20th century.) There is an... More

I booked this hotel because of the great reviews and historic character. The historic elevators were charming, but the room was average and bathroom vanity was the smallest of any hotel I have stayed in. A staff member delivered something to the people next door at 11pm and stayed and talked for a few minutes, which was very noisy and... More

My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton Burnham Hotel for her 60th birthday. The location is perfect. It is close to the theater district and the lake front. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful, especially Malcolm. The rooms are clean and the hotel has 1920 style decor. Note that the bar closes at 10:30 on Fridays.... More

Perfect location walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very close the park and art museum. The hotel was very clean. I arrived early and my room was ready. Staff is very nice. Can't wait to rebook in the spring.

The Kimpton Burnham is popular for its proximity to Millennium Park, but stands alone as a lovely and wonderful Chicago hotel. Great decor, down to the fine, iron grill-work inside the elevators. Wonderful, soft sheets, amazing rooms. We had some minor issues with our reservation but they were quickly and cheerfully resolved by the staff. Every single person we spoke... More

I learned of this hotel (too) many years ago, in architecture school, when it was first converted into a hotel, and have been waiting for a reason to visit ever since. As an architecture nerd, staying in the Reliance Building in the heart of the Loop with a view of State St cannot be beat as a base for walking... More

This is an amazing hotel to enjoy Chicago in. The hotel bar is super cute and the rooms are very modern and light. The elevators due tend to take awhile, but other than very minor inconvenience the rest of the hotel amenities were very nice. As well, you are super close to the park and can easily walk across the... More

This place is outstanding. It's less than a three minute walk to the nearest subway stop, and it's only a fifteen minute walk to the Navy Pier. Every person we had contact with was on top of their game -- front desk staff, bartender, bell staff, doorman, and everyone else. The hotel is stylish and hip and has a great... More

I've stayed at the Burnham several times recently on visits to Chicago. It's one of my favorite hotels. The hotel is in a gorgeously renovated historical building. It's low key and generally quiet. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's now my go-to place in the Loop.
