I always reserve a bath shower/tub combo. Never assume even if you are VIP. The covid crashed the restaurant, pool and fitness center but did not affect price of room. We had a refrigerator but no micro. Bit disappointing esp the price and there’s remodeling happening inside too. Not happy

This hotel was great. It was close to everything that we wanted to do. Walking was easy with the safe streets and walkways straight. The rooms are great. The breakfast was nice. Everything was clean and neat with a little kitchen area. The bed was comfortable.

I chose the hotel because of its location. Its bang in Downtown with close proximity to all the happening places in the city. I was here on Christmas and as luck would have it everything was closed. The receptionist was kind enough to hand over a leaflet with a list of restaurants operating and offering deliveries to the hotel- That was a lovely caring touch for travelers who were checking in after 6:00 PM (like me) Day 2 and 3 were amazing. I could walk out and tour any part of the city thanks to number of bus stops and underground MTA stations nearby in close proximity. My favorite Starbucks was just around the corner and so were quite a few huge departmental store, 7 Eleven outlets and Subway-around the corner. Overall the stay was awesome- rooms were big, sleep quality awesome, toiletries in plenty and cleanliness a huge plus point. I would love to stay here again. The only flip side of the stay was the breakfast which was awful. Good things about the property: Location: Prime 5 Star Staff: Helpful and cordial 5 Star Sleep Quality: Peaceful 5 Star Cleanliness: Neat 5 Star Not so good thing about the Property: Breakfast: Passable 2.5 Star (No offense but that’s the case with the other 3 properties of Hampton I stayed in US as well – Providence as well as Manhattan. Only surprise was Hampton by Hilton in Berlin City Centre where the Breakfast was just amazing – Probably because it was Europe)

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel in such detail and with such kind words! Our complimentary breakfast buffet adheres to all of the Hampton standards and more for the US (Europe does have different standards) and is intended to provide a quality sustenance to start the day. By no means would I advertise us as the best breakfast restaurant in the area as there are a plethora of award winning restaurants within walking distance, but for the price (complimentary!) and the offerings I would say we've got an excellent option for those traveling! *This has NOTHING to do with Covid-19* We scheduled our stay Hampton Inn specifically because they have a pool (when traveling, a pool helps with a medical condition I have) and was told at check in that the pool was closed for remodeling. I checked the website and there was no mention of any pool remodeling. The rest of the stay was very nice with a clean room, friendly staff, and great location.

Justmiller85, Thanks for sharing your experience of your recent stay with us. Our team always strives to give the service our guests expect & deserve. I appreciate the comments as we are always looking for ways to improve the service, we give our guests. Our hotel is currently under renovation until June 2020. While our guestrooms are fully renovated, we are currently working on our public areas so that we may offer a new experience for our guests after June 2020. We are informing all guests of this & have listed this as banner at the top of our website: “Entrance Relocated / Pool Closed through April Great news! Our updated guest rooms have been completed & are ready to welcome guests in new splendor. As part of our continued commitment to enhancing our property & your experience; the main hotel entrance & valet service are temporarily relocated on the Dearborn Street side of the building. For navigating to the hotel, use the address of 445 N Dearborn Street for the most convenient access. Our Lobby, Reception, Breakfast Area, Pool, & Fitness Center are being redesigned until June 2020. Slight noise may be heard between the hours of 10 am - 5 pm while renovation work is taking place. The pool is closed while the area is being renovated & will reopen late April 2020.” I am sorry that you missed this important information while booking. We also follow up with this same notice on your email confirmation after booking. In cases where the renovation will be impactful to our guests, we are 100% flexible on our cancellation policy. Thank you for your feedback, we look forward to seeing you back after our renovation is complete. Graciously, Ross Guthrie General Manager

There's a fire station around the corner, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Staff and location are fabulous and site is being renovated. Mike from valet is awesome but it's $59 a night as of March 2020. Tons within walking distance so avoid bringing a car if you can.

Dear CWeber30, I wanted to say thank you for sharing the experience of your recent stay with us. I am so pleased Mike was able to provide you with a great service and you also enjoyed your time in Downtown Chicago despite of the fire station next door, we do offer earplugs to our guests and I thank you for the recommendation to all other travelers to bring theirs if they are light sleepers. I appreciate the comments as we are always looking for ways to improve the hotel & service we give our guests. Sincerely, Rhondalyn Buckhanon Guest Services Manager
