We stayed at the Walton Residences for a bit over a month in early 2017 and had a superb experience. Greeted by front desk porters every day, they were constantly asking us if they could help us and were quick to give us advise and lend us a hand. The service element was better than expected for an extended stay and on top of that, the room was first-rate with ample living space, fully equipped kitchen, washer-dryer, comfortable beds and lush yet compact bathrooms. The weekly turn-down I only have positive things to write about the establishment and look forward to seeing the staff every time we are in the neighbourhood to say hi to them.

My husband and I and our cat needed to move out of our condo for repair and renovation work following a fire in our condo building. Fortunately, our insurance company identified 70 E Walton as a potential temporary accommodation. The Walton Residence is a vintage building just off Michigan Avenue that was beautifully restored a few years ago. We had a 2BR, 2 1/2 Bath apartment that was wonderfully appointed and comfortable. What we thought would be an 8 week stay turned into almost 4 months. The saving grace of an otherwise very stressful time was not just the wonderful accommodations, but the exceptional staff led by Laura Kaplan, the onsite property manager. Every single doorman and maintenance person was extraordinarily helpful. They were not just responsive to questions about the building, restaurants, shopping etc but would go out of their way to help us move packages and groceries, call the elevator, make our visiting kids feel welcome, etc. The unwavering focus on the comfort of the residents by every person is simply exceptional. We are moving home this weekend but feel like we are leaving another home and an extended family. Anyone looking for a temporary home away from home could not go wrong with The Walton Residence.

70 East Walton is the ideal place for a short stay in Chicago. Fabulous location, large well equipped unit with outstanding attentive staff. Could not have been better. As others have said, it was hard to leave what seemed like home.

We came to chocago because we wanted to have a new baby at northwestern hospital. It was a very high stress period. We needed and accommodating good place that would go above and beyond when things got too crazy for our family. We couldn't be happier with the choice. Location is among best in Chicago. Apartments are newly redesigned and refurbished. Couldn't ask for better service from the staff - they went the extra mile even when we had what would be considered high maintenance requests. If we had to rent again I wouldn't look anywhere else.

Due to a flood in my condo, I had to move out while the interior was dried out, mitigated for mold and reconstructed. Fortunately for me my homeowner’s insurance paid for me to live in a short term corporate apartment for three months while this work was being done. Though it is unsettling to have your belongings in storage and live in temporary quarters, my short term abode ended up being the silver lining in my three months away from home. I had a one bedroom, one and a half bath apartment at 70 E Walton Residence, just west of Michigan Avenue that was nicer than my own condo. That was not even the best part. The staff at 70 E Walton was so welcoming and friendly and made me feel right at home for my entire stay. Tola, the manager often asked me if I was enjoying my stay and was there anything that she could help with and even intervened on my behalf when I mentioned there were some noisy tenants across the hall from me. Martha, one of the front desk persons walked me over to the parking garage next door and helped me get parking for the time I was there. Kevin, another front desk person helped me get my TV prepared for playing DVDs. Charles, the building’s maintenance man was always available to help or repair something. The entire staff including Maria, Maribelle, Alex and Nick were very friendly and helpful. Finally, as I was prepared to move back into my remodeled condo, I found out that the construction crew needed a couple extra days before I could move back in, and Tola graciously allowed me to extend my stay by a very important two extra days. If ever I find myself in a similar situation where I need temporary quarters, I will check into 70 E Walton.
