A nice room, but hard on the legs with luggage and narrow stairs. Convenient to shops and food. Off street parking would be nice. Some issues with moldy coffee grounds in the maker. Housekeeping a little lax.

If you have to stay in south Chicago then this is a good option. I am currently staying a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment is quite good and self sufficient including the kitchen and a jaccuzi in one of the bathrooms. IT would have been great if they clean it once a week or so. Only negative thing is the...

We stayed here couple of nights after moving to the country. Very convenient, clean. quiet, with a laundry and a dryer in unit, as well as fully equipped kitchen, The price is pretty high, but otherwise a good place to stay.

This is a condo/apartment building where they've converted some of the rooms into "hotel rooms." When they first opened it a few years back, it was really nice. But the last couple times I've stayed there, it's showing its age. Furniture is old and dingy. The microwave display didn't work. Towels were old. Mattress had seen better days. And the...

Very good place for the price they offer. Parking facilities are great, and a good option for accommodation in the Hyde Park area. This place is a very good option for people who wish to have short term stays (up to 2 months) close to University of Chicago.

I stayed at the beadle Inn two nights. When I arrived, prior to check into line, the office was closed and there were too many numbers on the door to go through until we finally found someone who could help us. Apparently they had gone home and left a lock box on the unit for me to use. We stood...

I have stayed here a couple of times, once while visiting my son who was living in Hyde park, and once for a high school reunion weekend. It compares very well, pricewise, with hyatt place. Since international house no longer offers guest rooms, I don't know of any less expensive option outside of air b&b. My wife won't stay here...

I use to live in Chicago so trying to find a place that was not outrageously expensive for 5 people was a conquest. I was searching for condos to rent in Hyde park for 4 days to celebrate my mom's 82nd birthday and found the Beadle Residences online. It was affordable, spacious, updated, clean, staff friendly and conveniently located in...

This was a happy surprise. We were visiting the University of Chicago, and the local Hyde Park neighborhood does not have anything approaching a flagship hotel. From what we could tell on the web, the Beadle Residences was our best bet for comfortable, multi-day accommodations. Once we arrived, we discovered that the bedrooms (2BR unit) were spacious and well appointed....

We came to Chicago to attend the University Of Chicago. This was a fantastic location, really close to the University only a 10 minute bus ride. Close to many amenities, grocery store, Pharmacy, Starbucks and restaurants. Also very close to Downtown, only a 20 minute bus ride. The apartment suited our needs perfectly, very cosy 1 bedroom apartment. The Site...

Staying in Hyde Park

Neighborhood Profile
Hyde Park
If you want to get a feel for quintessential South Side Chicago, you have to make a stop in Hyde Park, one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods. This historic area is home to two of the city’s most prominent cultural institutions, the Museum of Science and Industry and the University of Chicago. A stroll here will bring you past vintage and grand hotels converted into luxury apartment buildings; peaceful gardens, parks and green spaces; and ivy-adorned museums and other cultural institutions that speak to the city’s diversity and architectural beauty.
