Stayed at the Social House this weekend with family. We booked the house and carriage house for next year. Lots of comfortable room and a well stocked kitchen with lots of options for adults and kids.
Our family has been staying at the Social House for several years. When Pat was the manager our stay was always good! The last few times have not been accommodating.Social House is listed as Bed and Breakfast..Not true. The first night was good. But no coffee or breakfast. The whole main floor had been rented for a shower. So the kitchen area was filled with people and preparation for the shower. You could not get in that room. to even get coffee. I really see now that I should have chosen Super 8 motel because at least you could have got coffee. We paid a lot of money to stay there because we were in the Port Room. She could have made arrangements for her guest. WE were paying people also. Hope she gets her priorties together to serve other guest. Beautiful B&B.So sad!!
Customer service is awful. We rented the loft for the weekend. When we got to the room there was a cat in it. When we went to put our luggage inside the cat ran out. We have 2 people in our family that are severely allergic to cats. I put my pillow down on the couch and when I picked it up it was covered in cat hair. We also have 2 year old twins. There was no gate on the stairs and the kids could fit through the slats in the railing and under it. Every person in my family could fit under the railing. We told Lisa we had little kids when we booked and not once did she mention that it may not be a suitable room or that there was a cat living in it. When we called Lisa to tell her about her concerns she basically told us too bad and had no other accommodations for us but that we needed to pay for the room anyway. Look elsewhere for a place to stay.…
We had a great visit and found the property in tip top condition. Our room was the Crebs with a bed so comfortable and every amenity you could need. We were B & B virgins but will definitely be back to the Social House.
I was looking for a nice "getaway" for my wife for Valentine's weekend. We have been to The Social House for a birthday party and my wife LOVED the charm of the B&B. So, after looking at a few options, to my surprise, they were offering a special Valentine's Day dinner. We LOVED it! Pat (the manager) is WONDERFUL! We have been to many B&B's before, and most are nice with great hostesses...Pat ranks among the kindest. Thanks so much for making our Valentine's a special one. On a side note, a man even proposed to his sweetheart during our private dinner. It was AWESOME! So, if you love B&B's the way we do...make the trip!
